Just purchased my first Keurig K Supreme plus coffee maker and carefully read all the instructions that were included with the universal reusable filter. Those instructions were crap! They left out some very valuable info like remove the red silicone plug, remove the basket from the brewer before trying to insert the reusable filter, etc. I was on the phone with Keurig customer support for at least 10-15 minutes while she was trying to figure it out. Finally I searched RU-vid and found your video. Excellent! Works like a charm. Thank you so much!
So true!! I've just spent an hour trying to understand how that reusable K cup works and did not dare try to force it in. Why to they include parts that you don't need?! I watched 3 videos that never covered this until I specifically googled "how to install the reuseable K cup in a Keurig K Supreme Plus. THANK YOU "Just a Dad"!!
This is my second Keurig Coffee Brewer. ru-vid.comUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf The first one lasted 6 years. It worked beautifully until the day it didn't. It was hard to go back to the drip coffee for a couple of days while I waited on my Keurig to get here. There is a huge difference in the taste. Keurig makes a really good cup of coffee. This new one is a little different from my old one. I find putting the water filter in was easier than on the old one. Attaching the water reservoir was also a little different but once I figured it out, it too was easier. This new one has the auto off feature but is not programmable like the old one. Only three cup sizes instead of four. The odd thing for me was how much lighter in weight this one is compared to my old one. More plastic and much less metal in the construction of this one. The price is so much less than the original Keurig that I bought and the coffee tastes the same so all in all I am satisfied.
Remove the red seal. I had read your instruction to remove the red silicone seal when using with a multi-stream brewer. I found another video that said leave it in and the needles would push it out of the way. So, I asked Keurig, and they confirmed it should be removed.
Thank you!!!! I can’t wait to try WITHOUT that red seal. I’ve been making my coffee with it In and it makes a mess!! It doesn’t tell you anywhere to take it off!!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I've searched RU-vid for an hour, trying to find instructions in the use of the reusable cup! I got instructions on how to take it out of the box and take all the tape off, etc. Now, I can enjoy a cuppa Joe and get rid of this headache. Thank you, Just A Dad! 💜
So sorry for your headache. I suffer from Cluster headaches and I feel your pain, Stay strong!!! You Got this!!!! Thanks for watching and your kInd words!!!! I am glad it helped, that is the reason I do my videos to help others. What is your go to K cup?
@@JustADad not sure what you're asking, go to k cup? Do you mean which machine or what coffee I like? Not sure which model the machine is. It belongs to my friend. And, coffee? Colombian! 😃 And headaches are absolutely NO fun! I'm sorry you suffer from them. Take care and God bless.
Really? Because this guy ruined many peoples coffees, and got us to waste a ton of money. You DO NOT remove that red seal for the Supreme! Thats how you get grinds in your coffee. This video should be taken down and remade. This has done nothing but harm.
Helena, this is exactly what I was going to say, too 😄!! Thank you SO much! Great coffee with no spills, grounds or issues whatsoever! My new model is the Supreme Plus and I DID remove the red seal as instructed. Thank you!!
Great video! I don’t use my Keurig often, and I was trying to make a single cup this morning, realized I didn’t have any K-cups. I found my My Kcup, but for the life of me, I could not figure out how to use it! This video saved my morning cup of coffee!
You such an amazing job explaining everything you have such smooth voice! Yiu are by far the best RU-vidr explaining coffee makers! You go above beyond!
Thanks for watching and your kind words!!! That was so nice of you to take the time and leave such a nice comment. Your kind words really do mean so much!!! I am so glad it helped and this is the reason I do my Videos To Help Others!!!! What is your favorite K cup?
I don’t know what I would have done without your video showing how to use reusable cups instead of K cups. Would have given up, if it wasn’t for your easy to follow instructions. Many thanks.
Thank you! I agree the Keurig instructions are lacking. Your instructions are spot on. The only thing I do differently is press the lid on the filter basket before placing/locking into the black cup. No leaks at all.
Thanks for the video! Yes confusing instructions. I got the Keurig K-Supreme Plus. The sticker on the grey adapter says "adapter must be attached for use in plus series brewers"... so the "K-Supreme Plus" isn't a "plus series brewer". That makes perfect logical sense.
My Keurig Supreme Plus came it's a gift , i bought the EZ Scoop and 360 count Pro Mael K Cup filters on amazon they have not arrived yet , should be a easy clean up
Awesome video! Thank you so much! I tried to figure out how to do this and it wasn't working out well - I was afraid of breaking my brand new machine, which was a gift. You just made my day - gonna go try it right now :)
I loved your video, thank you so much. I didn't understand someone else's video. It did not state that you should remove the gray bracket. You are really great!!! I would go by your videos any day! You're a great explained. Thank you again.
Thank you. I am happy I watched this. Your demonstration was clear and detailed. I agree with another viewer that the printed instructions are very vague.
What a thorough and informative video. Many thanks! I have had my supreme plus machine for over a year and just decided to switch out my coffee to my own grounds. I made my first cup using the My K Cup basket and I left the red ring in since the directions didn’t say to remove it. I had a nice solid stream with no mess in either the cup or the machine. As I cleaned out the grounds, I noticed the red ring plugs the multi stream from working and turns the brewer to single stream. That’s when I went searching and found your video. Keurig’s instructions are poorly written. While the My K Cup basket works for all their products, Keurig doesn’t explain how to use this for the multi stream machines and I didn’t think to disassemble it beyond the outlined instructions. Thanks for providing better instructions than the manufacturer! 😂
Thank you so much for posting this.. I literally was about to ship my reusable k cup back because it didn’t fit.. but I decided to look on RU-vid first and found your video..
Thank you for your videos. I have learned so much about my k supreme. I had never used my k cup. Thanks to you, I am using it quite frequently. You are the best!
Thank you! I have had a Keurig for many years. I found your video while looking for instructions to descale my newest one. I have watch your others and found them so complete and helpful.
Thank you so much for this video! I bought my K-Supreme in September - vowing only to use the reusable k-cups as to not make more waste for the environment. I've had failed cup after failed cup. Water dripping everywhere, weak watery coffee and sometimes filled with coffee grinds. To top it off the reusable K-Cup instructions are crap!!!! This video explains it all! Thanks for taking the time to help...my morning coffee ritual is saved.
@@JustADad I was so hopeful after this really informative video! It's not great...I either get a cup full of coffee grounds (even when the K-cup is really undefiled) or I keep the red thing in place and I get coffee and water all over the counter. It's a bad set up from my experience. The only time this doesn't happen is when I use one time disposable K-cups...and I am unwilling to (a) play the cost and (b) dump more waste in the landfills. I am so disappointed. Thanks again for your video - it really helped me!
Im thinking that the coffee overflow may be a poor seal with the lid and basket. If I attach the basket to the lid first then lock into the bottom it helps some. Though not 100% fool proof
I'm so upset, I thought I just had the wrong reusable kcup, how tf was I supposed to know I needed to take that part out of the machine?? As a broke college kid who loves coffee, I'm so happy you made this, thank you so much
Thank you! I just bought the keurig supreme plus and couldn't for the life of my figure out the reusable pod. Seems like some important instructions keurig should include. Great video and much appreciated!:)
Thank you so much for taking time to make these videos. I watch them every time I clean/descale or change filter in my keurig supreme! Vertical easy to follow and understand. Thanks again.
Thank you i just bought a K Supreme today on sale at Best Buy, I had the same problem with K Cup instructions, but after watching your video i was up and running in no time. I usually use a French Press for larger amounts of coffee so luckily I have a Bodum Bistro Grinder, This way i can adjust the grind just enough to not have sediment in the cup. Again thank your very informative video.
I took the Ninja CFP200 back to target and got the Keurig K-Supreme Plus. The coffee came out MUCH hotter and more flavorful. I used the reusable multi stream K-Cup. My first use was with a filter. My next cup will be without the filter. I like this machine MUCH more than the Ninja. I'm the only coffee drinker in my house so I didn't need the carafe.
Thanks for your video series I have used the Keruig from the original model and with in the last year have moved the K supreme Plus. Have viewed your video for descaling the unit and now though your video have learned that I should have been removing the little piece of silicon when using the reusable basket. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching and your kind words!!! That was so nice of you to take the time and leave such a nice comment. Your kind words really do mean so much!!! I am so glad it helped and this is the reason I do my Videos To Help Others!!!! What is your favorite K cup?
@@JustADad Try Keurig’s website as that is where I have got but being from Canada it is hard to say where else you may find it. It’s proper name is Emerald Big Easy Bold.
Since the Keurig comes out of the box with no instructions about the “my k-cup” and the new design my k-cup has no mention about popping out the k cup holder used in the purchased coffee for the Keurig, I don’t know how you would know to pop that holder out to make the cup fit. I was all set to return the extra cups I bought because they didn’t fit. I am not the only one !!! I read reviews of the Keurig and mention was made of the cups that didn’t fit. I can only say “THANK YOU! Great job!
Man I almost broke my Keurig right now, this video saved me! Also your descaling videos Thank you by the way my plus also has that random water drip it’s sprays everywhere both on k cup and reusable always has.
I have the new Supreme Plus in my kitchen, and the Supreme in my shop/mancave building. I use Costco cups (dark roast) in the kitchen. We get them on sale and pay an average of $.26 a cup. I make 12 oz cups and my wife makes 10 oz cups. Both use extra heat and "strong" in their pre-program buttons. We love it. In the shop/mancave I use our "supreme" machine and use only Costco Columbian in the new five pin k-cup. I put in coffee a little above the top of the screen and tamp it in the same way people used to tamp down cigarettes. I choose 12 oz, though I've tried 14 (6 + 8) and it does start to seem a bit weak. I NEVER wash it, though occasionally I'll wipe the coffee off the top wall of the gray part with my finger and scrape it into the grounds container. BTW, the grounds container is an old Costco Columbian tin with a bar across it made from part of a 2x4 (thanks to the tools in the shop I made it a very nice shape that clears the coffee nicely). I bang the cup against it just like they do with the espresso grounds container at a Starbucks. I then use the grounds in our garden. Both machines make great coffee. BTW, the best coffee I ever tasted at a private dinner party turned out to be a real surprise. It was Costco Columbian run through an old fashioned electric percolator. It's why I actually have a couple of stovetop percolators. BTW, I used to really be into whole bean, ground at use time, and tried all sorts of exotic coffees. That was in my 20's and early 30's. I outgrew that. I'm 68 now and Most coffee tastes fine to me. There are exceptions. Folger's and Maxwell House would be two.
Thank you for the link to this video. Right away you said you didn''t need the adapter, as this was for the older models.. I noticed the manual said it was for the Plus Series but I have Supreme Plus and it doesn't work. Thank you for your videos!
Glad I could help!! I was in the same boat, that is why I made the video the instructions were just not very good. Thanks again! What is your favorite coffee?
After I bought my Keurig Supreme Plus and read and tried to understand the instructions, I wanted to write to Keurig and tell them “Wait just a minute while I run out and get a degree from M.I.T.--then perhaps I will be able to make coffee with this machine”. Thank you “Just A Dad”, for making it simple to understand! :-) Also, what’s a “tang”?
I couldn’t get those white stickers off, either (I bought two) so I soaked them overnight submerged in a bowl of vegetable oil. It was a success. Of course the k-cup was very oily so I made sure I soaked them in dishwashing liquid. Make sure the oil is all washed off. I learned a long time ago that cooking oil worked when removing a difficult sticker.
You can get Goo Gone from the $.99 shop. But if you don’t want to buy that, you can always use WD-40 to remove labels, adhesives, or sticky substances from objects.
Thank you for this! I got a secondhand supreme plus and bought a new kcup and was just so confused as to how it worked. (Probably shouldnt have attempted it so shortly after moving lol) My caffeine addiction thanks you
Thanks for the instructions! I lost manual and couldn’t understand why the kcup wouldn’t fit. Remove grey sleeve. Ahhhh! Also, love the “warsh” representation! 😂 My mom says it that way.
Holey moley, I read those directions and that extra piece and leaving the red silicone in there made absolutely NO sense whatsoever. I didn't want to force it in, so I got my good friend Google to help :) and so glad it directed me to your video. Now, it makes sense. I couldn't figure out why they put that dumb sticker on there either.
Thanks so much, without your video, and relying on the enclosed instructions, it would have been difficult to get this right. Too bad Keurig couldn’t do what you did!
The reason that some of these leak and splatter when using the Keurig Universal Multi-stream Cup is that the plastic plate with the hole where the Cup inserts in the brewer, is either deformed from the factory, or becomes deformed by the heat of brewing. If you look carefully, you will notice that that front of the opening is lower than the back (bent down); when inserted, the cup will tilt forward and this will prevent the top seals of the needles from creating a good seal around the holes in the Multi-Stream Cup. To fix my brewer, I used a hair dryer to heat the plastic, then while wearing a leather glove, I lifted the front of the softened plastic plate up to reform it so the cup would sit level. Once the cup sits level, the seals function and water does not leak around the cup, it goes through it. I have no idea how long the fix will last.
Wow, thanks so much for this great information. It has helped me and it will help others. I will look into this on my machine and pod, It sounds like you're spot on. thanks!!! What is your favorite K cup?
Thank you so much for this comment! I just went through the descaling and needle cleaning and my reusable cup still splattered and leaked coffee grounds!
I tried using a piece of cardboard. It worked but that's a great idea! Mine used to work great but has been leaking. It used to pop the top off from the pressure. I assume it's bc I grind my grounds into powder.
Thanks for the video. I've had my Keurig for some time but never used the My K-Cup. But you're video was so clear I was able to follow along with you and try it for the first time. I must admit I do have the disposable filters for my old K-Cup machine but it worked perfectly with this one just started tweak it a little bit. I made my coffee and I used the 10 oz feature. Because I drinks the regular K-Cups both strong and black this was a little weaker but it tastes okay. Thanks again for the video I really did enjoy and learned a lot 👍
Thank you for this video!! The instructions are so vague & I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong. Keurig needs to have better written instructions for installation.
Thanks Much, I appreciate your great detailed video on the reusable K-Pod helped me in regards to not needing the red needle adapter.. just recently bought a Supreme + & been trying to figure out how correctly install after cleaning, luckily found your video & that K didn’t even need it lol 👍👍TY
THANKS for replying! 👍 Regular coffee, It’s between Starbucks French Roast & Jose’s organic French Roast.. Actual flavored: Jose’s Butterscotch Toffee & occasionally Chocolate Raspberry although haven’t Quite YET purchased those flavors since I fairly recently bought my Kurig Supreme Plus Also btw, Thanks for your informative video Re making the Iced coffee 👍😊looking fwd to doing it very soon
Thanks for watching and your kind words!!! That was so nice of you to take the time and leave such a nice comment. Your kind words really do mean so much!!! I am so glad it helped and this is the reason I do my Videos To Help Others!!!! What is your favorite K cup?
Thanks for this! Just bought a Supreme Plus brewer and the My K-Cup that came with it does not have instructions for the Supreme brewer. Googled for confirmation that red seal needed to come out and your video came up.
Very helpful and great, easy to follow instructions! Thanks so much. Do you know where I can find printable instructions that include images for the Reusable My K CUP Filter? Since I don't use it that often, I need to re watch your video every time I use it. Thanks for sharing what you've learned and know, very much appreciated.
@@JustADad Just Black is awesome too! Just curious, have you used Black Rifle in the pods with the Supreme Plus Smart? I just ordered that machine from Keurig, but I have received it yet.
You are supposed to keep the red plug in. On the keurig site and the paper instructions says to keep it in during use. It's probably why you have a leaking issue
I love your video 👍 It does not state to REMOVE Gray Bracket and the Instructions shows you TO USE It😡Ispent 1.5 hrs trying to figure out how to get it in machine 😡 I GAVE UP😊 Bought K Cups I will now use MY K CUP Thanks to this Video 👍 THX YOU 👍
I went through three of these units. Each of them will replace by the company. They knew that there's a problem with the gasket on this particular model. I've gone back to the single pin. Haven't had any problems since.
Good explanation and description of the new my KCups. I’ve had success with a finer grained but not espresso grind. If you really wanna drive the price down by Trader Joe’s dark roast or whatever roast at the fraction of the cost of the bigger fancier brands.
It in fact does work just fine with the red silicone seal on with the Kuerig Supreme Plus , I will leave it on the reusable filter holder so I won’t loose it !
Sediment only has to do with how consistent your mill grinds the beans! If your mill reprints a little coffee that runs around the burr and if it is more fine than the filter mesh it goes through and into your cup. My Cuisinart mill is pretty consistent, but has a small amount of real fine grounds that might be finer than the mesh filter. Keurig did say on their phone line that they were making recyclable K-cups and while that's good, why not just make them compostable? My coffee bean mill has numbers, not fine medium etc.
The one complaint I have with the new k-supreme is the water temperature is not as hot as my old machine. I like the quick brewing process, but the water doesn't get as hot as my old Keurig. The coffee temperature doesn't last long. I always make sure the temperature is set to the highest level.
Thank you so much for this. The instructions for the My K Cup are poor. There was nothing about removing the red gasket or removing hold assembly in the machine. I was baffled as to how it would fit.
Nice video. I wasn’t sure what to do, because it wasn’t fitting in my new K-Supreme Plus. Where did you get that great coffee scooper? I need that. haha
