Whilst natural foliage is the ultimate helmet camouflage, a 3D effect bushy cover may be the next best thing. Quick and easy to use, easy to modify if needed. Breaks up helmet silhouettes effectively and offers fast camouflage adaption to various surroundings.
Our Helmet camo scrim is foremost made for high cut helmets, but can be used on most full/low cut helmets too. Due to the larger surface area on full/low cut helmets you may need to use tape or other tweaks to make sure the elastic cord stays in place around the corners on the sides.
Designwise these are very simple, a single laser cut piece of 500D Cordura with alternating zig-zag cuts. The zig-zag pattern is positioned so that it creates an opening for NVG mounts at the front. Small slits are cut around the edges for the elastic cord.
Thread the elastic cord through the slits, tie it at the back and pull the cover over your helmet like a shower cap. Finish off by pulling any excess material to the back and rolling it under itself to tighten up the cover.
Available in green, brown, white, M05 woodland, Multicam and Multicam Tropic. All colours offer great NIR performance.
Made in Finland utilizing incredible space-age laser technology.

"I need to get myself a helmet." "Why do you need a helmet?" "So I can put a Scrim on it." "What in Heaven's name is a Scrim? 🙄 No .. don't bother." 😁.

Great innovation from Savotta team! Glad to hear this is manufactured in Finland and not outsourced to China
@Savotta
@Savotta Год назад
There really isn't anny innovation here honestly, people have been cutting up camo nets into helmet covers for ages, and the French were probably the first to mass issue such covers to their military for the M51 steel helmets. But stuff like this is as useful today as it ever was, so that's why we make these. But thank you! And yes, we love to make stuff here in Finland and the EU.

I'm concerned about the amount of sound these scrims make. I've already lost all hearing in my left ear from an negligent discharge of a velcro mag pouch without hearing protection. Will you be making a silent version, maybe out of bread, or wet paper?

Can Jaakari S daypacks be attached to the large Jaakari M/L rucksacks?
@Savotta
@Savotta Год назад
Yes, if you modify it by adding suitable buckles, as done here with the Hatka 12L: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6qAsZNOmx70.html But since the Jääkäri S has it's PALS webbing on the back on the lower 2/3, it won't sit quite as nicely unless you have it either empty or half full. But yes, it can be done!

The lacing of the thread through the scrim was a bit difficult to follow, maybe try making it clearer or slower next time?

just put the lace through the small holes on the rim. if you couldn't figure it out by watching this video, let alone if you cannot figure it out yourself you are not who this video is targeted to

Are you guys doing anything for Ukraine right now? Not pressuring, just asking
@aritakalo8011
@aritakalo8011 Год назад
Don't be surprised, if you don't get answer. Finland has adopted a pretty tight operational security culture around aid to Ukraine to not give Kremlin intelligence freebies. Savotta did announce early on in march 2022, that they were donating a batch of backpacks, rucksacks, sleeping mats and webgear to Ukraine as company. However as said pretty soon after initially even the government being open like telling "we donate x thousand rifles", Finland both officially on government level and culturally on private and corporate level adopted "lets not tell the Russians, what we are giving to Ukrainians so they Russians have to keep guessing instead of getting free intel." policy, It isn't about getting brownie karma points for being able to say "we did this much, aren't we great". It is about helping Ukraine and it helps Ukraine to keep mouths shut about what they get.

Yep, our last little shipment of gear donated to Finnish volunteer fighters was shipped off yesterday. Our very first shipment of donated gear and necessities collected by our local townspeople was driven straight into Kyiv a week after the invasion began by a friend of ours. We've partaken in large Finnish fundraisers by providing tents, backpacks, sleeping pads, combat equipment etc. to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence over the course of these past twelve months, and shipped of smaller gear donations to particular units through personal contacts. Like the Finns we are we just don't keep too much noise about what we do.
