Banjo D-Tuners were made famous with US bluegrass banjo players like Earl Scruggs: he used this bending technique for his particular style of playing, which is why musicians like to call them Scruggs tuners.
The use of these tuners is not only limited to banjos. Guitarists like Clarence White, Marty Stuart or Mikes Dawes used or still use D-tuners on their electric and acoustic guitars.
