How To Use Scotts® MAX™ Lawn Food 

Hi! Scotts MAX Lawn Food may be applied to wet or dry lawn. We recommend applying the product to a dry lawn. For best results water in after application (approximately 5 minutes of watering) especially if activity is expected on the lawn or no rain is predicted for the next several days. You can mow the lawn right before or right after it has been watered in.

We're sorry but Scotts MAX Lawn Food is not registered to be applied with a hand-held spreader. This is because of health and safety concerns due to the increased exposure risk when using a hand-held spreader. We recommend that you use a push-type spreader. @@ScottsLawn That's contradictory because the packaging has instructions for the Whizz spreader which is also hand-held.

Hi. We apologize for any confusion. To clarify the differences between the Wizz and Whirl Spreaders: The Whirl is a hand crank spreader that uses both hands and is essentially closer to the face while the product is being applied. Which in turns is a health risk if you are using a product with weed controls or insecticides. The Wizz is a battery operated spreader that is held with one hand and is held at a lower position on the body which reduces the product from coming into contact with the user. If you are using a straight lawn fertilizer, it can be used with the Whirl at setting 3 3/4. We apologize for any misunderstanding/confusion that this may have caused.

Hi, Scotts MAX Lawn Food should not stain. If applied accidentally to a hard surface, we do recommend sweeping it into the lawn area prior to watering.
