Serato's Scratch Bank feature is now available on the RANE SEVENTY, SEVENTY-TWO, and SEVENTY-TWO MKII mixers. This features gives DJs access to 32 different samples or tracks at the push of a button.
In this video we breakdown how to set up, and use, Serato's Scratch Bank feature on our mixers.

I invented this years ago using CDs. DAMN... I knew I should've done something with this but thought some company would come out with it. This was back in the late 90's. I liked this type of feature most for making quick transitions back and forth between tracks. Oh well, that's what I get for not following my dreams enough. Stuck behind this f**king desk...

shit! my grandaddy was cleaning his old phonotable vinyl player in 1940 and accidently moved the vinyl while playing. i believe he was the first person to scratch on vinyl

If any gear you have ever used had a sampler. You could have been done this. Scratch banks and samplers ARE THE SAME THING! i am so confused how no one seems to know this... its weirding me out. How dumb are we?

@@terryjetter1718 This was literally a year ago, but anyway, they are not the same. I don't know what version of Serato you had before but I cant scratch with samples unless I actually load them as a TRACK. That is NOT the same. scratch banks gives you quick access and loads it as a track for you so you don't have to find and think about where each sample is. If it wasn't needed, they wouldn't have come up with that feature. So not quite sure who the "we" in this dumb you speak of.

Well. Because the market doesnt use the same fx every gig? Sorry for making you consciously prepare... i prefer things reset when I turn them off. I just make not of my preferred settings. Since they take about 34 seconds to set up when powering everything back on. What a weird thing to complain about.

@@DJYagga I fucked up. I’d been looking on and off at mixers over the last couple of years as have had a vestax 06 pro since about 2000. Could finally afford one in July and didn’t know anything about the S11, so I went for the 70 after watching countless videos and reviews. I really love the mixer and I’m still learning with serato but that feature allowing you to layer tracks and be able to cut is so exciting. I might have to make the swap.

How do you add tracks to your library? When I try to add a song from tidal it says "streaming tracks are not able to be loaded to scratch bank". How do I change this so I can add song/sounds to the bank? Thanks for your help!

I had it setup on bank A. And now it's not not showing up. So I setup bank B . But it's still not showing up. Any tips on how to get the settings back

For some reason my updates dont seem to be taking. Updated latest serato and the 1.6 for my seventy two, but no icon in serato and features dont seem to be applying to the 72 either. It also just zips right through the update whether my mixer is connected or not and if its not, it doesnt even tell me to connect it. My mixer is connected because I can use it and I have even uninstalled all the drivers and updates for the mixer and serato then downloaded them again, but same thing happens over and over again...

Is this ever gonna be a mappable addition or is it exclusive to some controllers? This feature could have beeneasily be added to the current sample player, press button to play sample as normal, hold shift to load it as a scratch bank

I only see the firmware updates for the 72 Mk1 and 2. I don't see the firmware update for the 70...Am I missing someting??

No firmware update for the 70. Just update serato and it works

This is great. Playing with it now. Is there a way to access/change the bank being used on the 72 or do we have to choose it on the CPU still?

Ah figured it out! "Parameter" key to switch banks. Loving it! Ok so in case I don't figure it out in time, is there a way to keep the display on the touch screen?

Just tap and hold briefly on the banner that pops up on the screen.

When you gonna fix the problems with MacOS Big Sur? The all pads are is not working on my 70! All the pads are switched off, totally useless. PLEASE HURRY UP!

How is a scratch bank different from a sampler? Its not. Why tf does everyone act like it is?

In Sampler Mode you can only play samples in Scratch Bank Mode you are able to scratch them via Turntable or manipulate the Pitch for example while playing a Sample or an whole Song...
