Can I use the Sp-404 as an effects processor for multiple DAW's? Like Maschine, Ableton and Logic Pro X at the same time? Or would it only do the effects for one device or daw? Thanks man :)

PSA: PLUG YOUR HEADPHONES INTO YOUR 404. DO NOT PLUG THEM INTO YOUR AUDIO INTERFACE, OR YOU'LL GET FEEDBACK. I was totally frustrated until I figured this out. Also, if your audio interface is using in/out 3 and 4, your master out needs to be on 1 and 2. Do not put everything on 3 and 4. The master needs to be on separate channels.

Using Scarlett 2i2 works! You can use RCAs to aux chord/3.5mm + convertors or 1/4in! Phones directly in 404, R/W Sp404 Line-out to Input 1 [will be labeled SP404 (L)] and sp404 Line-in to the back R output. Some effects feedback, and some do not! Thank you for the video Low Heat

try adding a midi cable, you should get some sync on the effects

Not working with the Clarett 4Pre for me, followed directions exactly and have nasty feedback loop like others have described in the comments. Trying to contact focusrite & ableton support to try to get a solution

Thank you for the video man. I did right now exactly the steps that you did. I have a focusrite Clarett 4pre so i should have enough inputs outputs. I hooked up my sp 303,but when I use the external effects rack on ableton and set everything accordingly. I hear no effects that i use on the sp,and if i mess with the volume on the sp i hear a loud pitch noise. If i have the effect at 100% wet i cant listen to the sound at all in my daw. Id its on 0% I can hear the sound in my daw. You have any advice ? Wish you a good year

I have a Apollo twin, can't make it work idk if I did something wrong. In the External audio effects I can see the signal bumping in Audio To but nothing in Audio From. The interface I have has two MIC/LINE inputs I conect sp404's Line out to them (Left - LINE1, RIGHT - LINE2), did I do it wrong?

Is it possible to do this if I have a Clarett2PreUsb? I don’t have 4 input channels. I only have 2. I do have 4 output channels tho. When I try to recreate your steps I get really bad feedback on my headphones through the interface. If you could help that would be dope!

I am using a Saffire Pro 24, I connected it the exact same way as you have done on the video. I very rarely get a signal and if I do it's only in the "audio to"? Sometimes I get a signal from the "audio from" as well but it just results in a big feedback loop?

Will this method work for Maschine?

im sure that depending on the actual effect selected on the SP, having the 'external audio effect' in live as a send/return would be dope as well

ive got a focusrite 6i6 and a maschine mk3, anyway to have the sp404sx effects usuable as im playing on the maschine?

Great video!! I currently only have a Scarlett Focusrite 2i2 and theres only a single stereo out. My question is, is there still anyway for me to still connect my sp404sx as an external effect if I only have a single stereo out and if I cant do it with my 2i2 by itself, are there any adapters of any kind that can add some more stereo inputs to my focusrite so I can send the line out of the SP back to my interface because currently I can only use the sp404sx as an external effect by connecting my focusrite to the sp404sx’s line-in and then the line-out to my speakers which means I wouldnt be able to record any effects because the focusrite isn’t recieving the signal only my speakers are. If theres no option for doing this with my 2i2 im going to have to buy a new interface, what interface would you recommend that will work for this that wont break the bank too hard. I was thinking of a Focusrite 4i4.. Thanks in advance

Hey man i followed all steps and read all comments but still having feedback when my external audio effect is 100%wet but can hear the track with the effects (quite messy) when i put more dry through. It seems as if it might be a routing problem would you say? that my Line out 3 and 4 is acting like the main? how are you sending audio from your computer to the interface? via usb? thanks for the video and your help! im close......

When I hear my sp through my scarlett focusrite using the RCA to 1/4 jack cable i get a strange buzzing sound that oscillates in and out, any one else get this? Using the Phone jack doesnt have this

Got a problem I'm hoping others have dealt with as well. Im using sp404A to Focusrite Interface using two RCA cables. Once I drop the external audio effect, I get a doubling, latency, buzz sound. Especially on the right side. The MFX dont sound as they should. any recommendations?

Hi just a quick question about this but I believe it is possible, from watching this video; Is it possible to use the SP 404-SX as an FX unit on the master channel in Ableton? So performing a live set through Ableton, I can use the SP404-SX JUST for the effects to effect the entire signal not just one track

Hey a little help here, i have never owned external gear, only two pair of Yamaha hs7 with a scarlet 2i4. I recently just bought an sp404 and sp303, I want to know how to run the sp303 into the sp404 and then the sp404 into the audio interface and into the computer, would I need the same cords for both sp303 and sp404?

What plug ins do you use? Or how do you get those sounds, are they samples?

Can I do this on a MIDI track or does it need to be done with an audio track?

Ok firstly great video. Secondly, questions please! I've got my connections made. I've got the SP in a return track and have drums that I'm sending to it. The SP is effecting the drums etc. My question is how do I get these effects to save in ableton? Clearly we could resample, but then you are consolidating your drum tracks into one master drum track. Is there a way to do effects on the SP and have them actually save in the effects return track set up.
