How to use the pressurized MDI Symbicort inhaler. This inhaler contains budesonide (an inhaled corticosteroid) and formoterol (a bronchodilator).
This is a version of the Symbicort turbuhaler, but instead of containing dry powder, it produces an aerosol spray which can be inhaled in a similar manner to typical "blue" inhalers, such as Ventolin.

Dont forget that you have to rinse your mouth after each use to reduce the possibility of side effects.

OK, but what bad happens when the inhaler is not stored UPRIGHT and/or in a HUMID area? No one seems to know. Do you?

humidity prob will get it wet and ruin it and not having it upright will prob just make the medication in it lean to one side instead of where its suppose to be (bottom of the device) making it less concentrated

Hi doc I have learned to use this in your channel thank you. Is it natural it leaves a bitter taste in the mouth and feels more like I wanted to vomit afterwards? Also I noticed after 5 days on my bed time inhaler it has now caused throat irritation where my voice is back to being hoarse. I also seem to have some mucus now day 7 in the morning including feeling my nose is blocked by something. I have seen your other video but I am not sure if I should contact my doctor for this symptoms or are they natural as per the symbicort site regarding drug side affects? I am also unsure if this inhaler is the cause of my stomach being upset like instead of once a day bathroom bowel use I go about 2-3x since using this. Thank you doc.

I just started this yesterday, my dr said to rinse and gargle after i spray, that it can cause fungus 😫😫😫 wth

@@virgv3087 I do gargle it's for your hygiene. It's starting to get better except my upset stomach when using this. It's costly to go to the doctor again just for getting questions answered and wait in line for almost a whole day

I was asked to use the nasal spray and I think the symbicort inhaler is my 3rd or 4th replacement inhaler but then I tried just using my nasal spray it felt better. On the 3rd day my voice became normal so when I only continued the nasal spray but my cough disappeared completely a week earlier than what my doc advice to be our next follow-up. I am tired of going back and forth to the hospital and since I am well I continued the nasal spray until the week adviced but instead of going back to the doctor(walk-in or schedule is actually the same it just depends what number I will get to be called but will still wait for hours to be checked) I finally feel free and just went with a few friends in a place where the pool have running water from the river. I missed a few outings due to my cough so just took the time then. Now I seem to be coughing early mornings I guess now I have seasonal allergies since weather is kind of cold🤔 the fog in the morning seems to trigger me much or late afternoons as the temperature lowers🤷‍♂️

It's for daily maintenance; not to be used as a rescue inhaler.

No. That’s not ok. This is not a rescue inhaler. It does have Albuterol in it but you need a straight albuterol inhaler.

depends on your pulmonary function test result. Consult first with your pulmonologist before you update your meds. some are prone to overuse of bronchodilators/inhalers
