Yes you can digital mode software. That's what the virtual sound card and serial ports are for.

I'm relatively new to remote radio, but I'm assuming without the VPN, you would have to forward UDP traffic via your router settings, which opens up your home network to security risks, unless you have more than 1 public IP address. I could be wrong, but I'm assuming that this works similar to using your home public IP address to host a web server without paying a 3rd party hosting fees, which requires port forwarding and opening up your network to potential attacks. The only way to circumvent this would be to have a dedicated public IP address for the radio server, which I don't know that residential ISPs would allow. But, like I said, I'm new to all this, so if I'm wrong, please let me know. I'm always eager to learn :)

@@tonymims2266 Can make a static ip address and yes you need open ports but using wifi is also a risk in any other aspects with out doing remote in just general use

@@mikegianfrancesco9431 You have to authenticate to the VPN as well, which adds an extra layer of security over simply exposing a port or an IP address.

Couple questions 1. If we are away from the home transceiver and TeamViewer shuts down how are we supposed to restart with the password when we can't see our control screen? 2. All my audio comes out my radio not my computer. How do I change that?
