I use iRig to hook my phone to my mixer and get phone calls during my live Ustream broadcasts. Also listen to a typical conversation I have with my mom on the phone.
This video is just what I needed to fully understand the potential of the iRig. Thanks! Incidentally, you have a beautiful tone to your voice - makes a whole load of sense that you do radio.
Thanks for this video. It is making our project much easier. I will be posting a response with our set up. We found some very important settings that took us a while to get the sound correct. The phone's pre-amp and our mixer do not play nice together. Seems to be some what common. Thanks again.
HI i really like the video can you please post wire links from amazon to here so i can buy online and all the wire you used in video it will help all the viewers to find the wires. i have behringer mixer same like you have.
I realize that this is an older post but I'm going to ask this any way. Hopefully I'll get a response lol. The way you have the pc out/in to your mixer would that be the same way that I would set up to a Behringer UCA222 external sound card to my Behringer mixer? Please and thank you
for some reason i can hear them they hear us but it wont let me record. i tried recording to and streaming to ustream and wouldn't let me any advice/help
My caller can't hear the audio from other mics in the mixer. I have a Behringer 1204usb. I can hear them fine from the headphone out on the mixer. Any Ideas?
Intellectual Gentlemen's Club did you turn up the fx on the other mic channels? I did an interview with someone a few years ago and the only mic channel with the fx closed off was the one dedicated to the phone/caller. The music/playback channel had the fx pot turned up.
The mono 1/4” tt u plug into to irig... the other end is also mono... u plug in the mixer ‘send’ .... what is ‘send’ ? Is it main output or an input channel ? And the other cable 1/8” u plug into the irig .... the other end goes into the mixer ‘line’ ?
When you speak to someone on the phone is the person you are calling hearing your voice through your studio mic or through the built in mic on the iPhone?
PTPOP the irig splits the mic and receiver up within the device itself. So when you speak to someone the caller hears you through the mic you are using and not the cellphone mic.
you have mon mix and main mix, you do not want the audio going back to person from main mix as it will introduce echo and maybe also two audio, what why output returning to phone VIA irig, it taken form the mon or FX sends or Aux mix, this audio is direct ONLY from mic pre in which your mic is inserted, which signal is split into one going out to main and other to aux, send or mon, and has nothing to do with the audio coming thru-out the main. The 1/4 to 1/8 ts take that signal to you irig so the caller can hear good audio. However the incoming phone call which can be via trs 1/8 to two 1/4 ts or XLR and insert on which ever channel and your mic insert audio which is split at preamp well be coming in thru out the main mix.
that is because you have the FX nob on the phone channel turn up it should be all the way off and the mic FX nob turn up .. because that is what you are sending to the person on the phone your voice from your mic.
Hi. This looks brill. Can you help me with something please. The microphone you were talking into, was that wired into the iphone and mixer etc so that you used an external mic for that phone call rather than the inbuilt mic on phone? I am thinking this could be a clever and simple way to do football commentary but would have an external headset mic. Would all this work for me? Please let me know.
did you ever figure out a solution? I am having the same issue. both sides can hear just fine but I can only record my side. The callers voice is not recording.
