This is our guide to using the Metro in Moscow as it can be very confusing with the language barrier and their Cyrillic script. However it is the cheapest and best way to explore Moscow quickly Song: Забери меня Artist: СоБытие
Ah! Living in Moscow for past 4 months. Moscow metro is amazing! But i remember first week! Couldn't understand anything! Pro tip- download Yandex Metro and follow the colours of line while travelling in the stations, its easier. Thank you for the video :)
And you can use Yandex Transport application for public transport(Yandex is searcher like Yahoo in Murica). Moscow taxi is one of the cheapest in the world. You can use Uber or Gettaxi or YandexTaxi. And now Moscow Metro have english names of stations. Its will be easier for englishspeaking.
The troika/тройка card as mentioned in the previous comment is a card you buy for 50rub and then each trip (on the metro) is only 32 rub. This card can also be used for public transport like the bus the monorail train trams and trolleybuses excluding marshutki(van-like buses)) also there is this deal where 1 bus ride and metro ride together cost 49 Rub if the two are less than 90 min apart. The card at the end of the trip can be returned and you will receive 50 Rub back. Also the map of the Russian metro now has the name of stations written in English letters right underneath the Russian name of the station.
faridtjabbah gut i am not sure about the unlimited pass, but i usually put money on the card at the cashier register, and use it. its a lot cheaper overtime if you use public transport and the metro a lot. Last time i checked, a ride on the metro was 20₽ cheaper than one ticket, and I have probably saved maybe thousands of rubles or hundreds of dollars with this card. I use public transport all the time there. It is the fastest way to get to the centre and personally a nice place to sleep in; eapecially in the older trains.
Funny, people keep saying Moscow's subway is only in Russian, as though it is a problem; while Washington D.C.'s subway is only in English, which is not a problem.
English is the most global language... I'm not going to bitch about my native language not being available everyfuckingwhere, but English is something that all big places with lots of tourist should have in use.
@@jenpsaki7103 If Chinese ever becomes as widely *internationally* spoken as English, I would (try to) learn the language. But right now it's not spoken that much *outside Asia* so I have no interest in learning it.
So good to see where it all started Keep going the beans ! Waiting for you tone back to uK and decided what’s NEXT !sending you some good vibes as vanlife in tge winter is haaaaaaahaaahaaaaard
Great video and very reassuring. Would love to see more 'how to' videos. Or videos answering the common concerns about traveling, e.g. mugging or being kidnapped for Hostel film like purposes..
+Adam Green We did actually go to the place that hostel was filmed (although I haven't seen it). You should come out and see us and help us with survival guides.
+Adam Green Hey. Come to Moscow. Moscow fairly safe city. :) Hostels and hotels can be booked online www.booking.com/city/ru/moscow.ru.html?aid=392854&label=yandex-city-moscow--2960561-bn8fE8YjEDQBJnTd0Tv7iA-457080369&API+-+Gostinicy+-+Russian+Federation+-+01
"once you get your ticket you can scan it once and then throw it away" 2 suggestions - get a Troika card if you use single tickets, do NOT throw them away - you can use them to transfer to local buses/trams before/after your metro ride.
Awsome! I think russia could do more to make it comfortable for tourists (bilingual signs, currency acceptance and so on). But thanks for the video mates :).
Why in Russia is the US subculture? What Russia with a centuries-old history should adopt from the "teenager" who in his history has a long existence at the expense of others' ills? The US is built on the destruction of the indigenous population of America and the use of slave labor by blacks. Even today, the US continues to plunder poor countries for its prosperity. Do you want to teach us this? Do not wait, thank you, we are not animals or jackals. This is the US symbol of an eagle, a predatory bird with only its own tree, and we are bears, we are the masters of a huge taiga, we do not need to rob other countries.
Hi guys, great video so thanks for it, you make such a cute couple. Just one questions, so if I got it right, the ticket machines don´t take debit or credit cards right? only cash.
Lodbrok hey, thanks for watching. When we were there it was only with cash but I understand they have English in the metro now so I wouldn't be surprised if they have a card feature. Either way take cash in case haha
Great info ! heading there in 2 days. so can u get a card valid for 48 hours or just easier to buy singelticket? does it allow to transfer to other lines?
The card is the same for all metro lines, you do not need to pay when switching from one line to another. All the lines are interconnected, you can make as many transfers as you want for 1 passage. The map is the same for all metro lines, you do not need to pay when switching from one line to another. They say Russia is "poor", kind of G7 "the richest"! lol if we're so "rich", why we don't have such a beautiful metro as in Moscow? I haven't been to Moscow but that what I can see on YT, it's incomparable with the London tube. It's an art gallery not a subway station. In NYC is even worse. Afraid to use it even day time not night.
Lol. Im russian but i never have been to moskow because we are extremely poor and have no opportunity for travelling in our country. So, obviously i gonna start watching how foreigners got travel in Russia.
Unfortunately I can't remember the names of all the stations there as it was over a year ago that we visited.. but the Moscow metro as a whole is my favourite metro I've been on whilst travelling the world!
