Very helpful! Question... I'd like it show sub-tasks under the Parent task- the way Planner used to be with showing checklists. I've tried all of the grouping options but nothing to Group by Parent and then by Bucket. Do you know if this is possible?
Considering their resources, this planner is no more than a to do list. It is nowhere near a PM system that I would hope for from someone like Microsoft.
You can't even copy tasks over from your private To Do list, and that's the only way to create tasks from an email. It is SO limited, considering I'm only using Microsoft software for work the lack of integration is shocking.
Thanks for the video! I have an issue though. I seem to not be able to add task directly in My day, without taking a detour via My tasks. Tasks I add in My day disappear compleatly when hitting Enter and sometimes I get a pink ribbon telling me there is a problem and my task is no longer available, other than in My tasks. Any ideas! May be someone can direct me to a video showing how adding a new task in My day-view is properly done.
Great video! Is there a way to duplicate a plan that’s not associated to a group? I have multiple self-created plans and just want to make copies for new project but can’t find a copy option to copy all the tasks inside the plan to a new plan

I don't have this. Just shows the planner on right with nothing in it (grid, board, charts, schedule) and nothing else on left - no my day or anything else just other stuff like teams, calendar, chat, etc
Great video and a nice overview of the new features. I'm glad to see MS acted on user requests over the years. Still a few features that seem to be missing. As your video shows, easy to use when you have small amounts of content but after a while the list of planners starts to grow and grow and becomes difficult to manage. If you're working in several planners, providing organization options would be great. A search function within the planner hub to find a specific plan should be available. Also, allow users to filter or categorize plans by category or type which could be an option when creating a new plan. New plan > Category= Type 1, Type 1, Type 3, etc... and then user can select these types as filters. Also, I notice in a video posted on MS 365 channel there are additional functions in Advanced Planner which I don't see in your version? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4U5KNwNBLdA.html
In the video section (Different View of Plans), when you clicked on 'Grid,' it displayed columns such as 'Title' and 'Assignment.' How can I add another column to the grid view to show the "label" column on the task?
I really like the planner, the only part I can't find is how to assign a time to a task? I want to get a notification at a certain time of day, like you can do in Outlook, can't seem to find this.
Maybe a video on how to switch off automated updates and how to prevent Teams from trying to switch itself on when the user does not want to use it? Maybe it's just me but recently MT has been notorious for such "unwanted self-activiations and self-updates" that I seriously take into account the possibility of permanent removal of it with no interest of using this service in the future. So in case there is a chance to make it a tiny bit less annoying I would really appreciate some quick troubleshooting video on such topic. As for MT, I only use it since companies I work with use it but yes, users feedback for the serice provider- please, make it less annyoing and self-imposing for times when I do want to use other serices. Otherwise, I'm not going to be the only user on the globe getting completely fed up with excessive disruption of my work due to service being way too much out of control of end user.
In my role we call that the Surprise Upstream Change. We can be subject to the SUC at any time without notice. Strange how, in this day and age of change management, MS can be fast and loose with updates or changes but other IT teams are strictly controlled.
Hi! I was wondering if there is a way for all assignees to stay informed about all conversations (through email copies of the conversations) without actively posting on the card. Currently, I've noticed that only the assignees who post on the card, receive email copies. The rest have to visit the card to know what's going on. I am asking because sometimes the management or the senior employees may just want to be aware of the conversation without actively posting. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
Thank you for the very useful video. I have not been able to add collaborater, customers and experts outside my organisation to MS Teams, ToDo and now Planner. This is very important in my work and I am thinking on giving up on Microsoft allready. Have you any good ideas how to add tasks and include people outside of the organization to Teams, Planner etc?
For data security I'm almost positive that would not be allowed or made possible. I would get a second personal laptop and use that to keep them updated or your org should come up with a solution
You can do this but you’ll need to follow a few steps: 1) Within your Team, ensure you’re using a Shared Channel in order to collaborate on files or apps with external guests. If your channel is set to Standard or Private then you won’t be able to add external users, so will need to create a new Shared channel. 2) Next, add guests. You can do this if you are a Teams Admin by adding external users email addresses to your shared teams channel, and they’ll get ‘Guest’ access. If you don’t have admin access (most people don’t if they’re using their companies org Teams), then follow your internal process to request access via IT etc. You will need to provide them with the email addresses of the external users, and request that they be given Guess User access to your shared channel. Hope this helps!
how do i copy a plan i created with all its tasks and board layout. Its like i need to duplicate it and rename it for another project that uses the exact same tasks and board layouts. i would only change the name of the plan itself.
Fantastic video! Question, does the person you assigned need to also be using teams planner or will it go to their to-do list in outlook? Thanks for the great info!
The green planner at least has the copy plan function. The purple planner doesn't have the copy plan or the create custom plan template so that pretty much kills it for me.

❓Looks promising but does it solve my main two problems❓ 1. Many users accidentaly click on the DONE button on tasks asigned to three persons, leaving the other two with completed task, which they sometimes didnt even see…. 2. I like to manage daily tasks in mobile app, but there I cannot just push parts of a bigger task into my daily view via checklists - If I do my part of a bigger task with checklist I will still see it on daily view to distract me…
Simplest way would be to create subtasks for the individual to tick off, would still show up in their assigned tasks though, they would have to unassign themselves from the task once they had completed it. It isn't very well set up for collaboration.
Depends if you're on old or new teams, but I think it should be in the To Do app settings. I may have done it through Outlook, and not in Teams itself.
