Sounds interesting. Especially working across tenants is a nuisance, if the client requires you to authenticate regularly. Teams seems to log outnthen and does not realize if there are new messages. So I tell my customers they will reach me reliably via phone, WhatsApp, Zoom and E-Mail, but not via Teams. The new Teams simply did not work with Authenticator. Changing to a customer‘s tenant always ended in Authenticator claiming that the 6-digit code or the 2-digit confirmation code (depending on the client’s 2FA method) was incorrect. As I often need to change to client tenants I had to go back to the old Teams. There, fortunately, all the Authenticator IDs work properly. I think it‘s ridiculous that Microsoft simply can‘t create a professional meeting application that works across multiple companies.
The new Teams does not take over the contact groups I have already created. They are also not displayed in the People app.Is there an alternative feature, or a way to download all my contact groups? thx
There's sadly a few features still missing from the New Teams, but I am hoping that it will have all the existing capabilities before it's rollout in March this year
In the new teams, I can no longer see the beginning bit of a message in the chat window? Is there anyway I can turn this back on?? I like being able to get a preview of what the message is without having to open it/show that I've read it
I’d guess this is not yet available in the Web version, as the new Teams for the Web was only released a week ago, so I think it could be missing some features 😃
Hi. This update was forced. I wonder how I can access ALL of my chats, if not in a videomeesting ? Usually I could enter the chat function and send messages, what now is not possible or so well hidden that I cannot find it.
Sure, so just to check, when you enter 'Chat' you only see the Chats, rather than the Meeting Chat? If that is the case, you can click into the Filter button at the top, and then change it to Meetings, and then you can see all your Meeting Chats. However, when I have nothing filtered, in my own Chat Feed, I can see both my Chat Threads and the Meeting Chat, so maybe just check that Filter 😀
I have just invested in a Green Screen, but I have been using the standard capability in Camtasia, which is the app I use to edit and record my videos and that now includes background removal. It's a good app for the cost and has lots of capability.
Awesome video, thanks for doing it. I have a question for you. I have a Channel and there is 20 people that can post information (they aren't admin), or send an email to that channel so everyone can track the information and all those email. My problem is, I am the administrator, I was able to delete entries once those requisitions where completed, and everything worked fine, NOW I cannot delete anything, just my comments, and not all those thousands of entries that need to be deleted, I have change settings, I have done multiple things and nothing, even the person who created this channel cannot delete those post, so, if you know how to, or where is the problem, I would really appreciate your help. Thanks
Thanks for your feedback. This issue is quite hard for me to confirm the root cause for, and I would ensure you are the Team Owner (as the Team Owner should have the ability to delete Posts) and I would also check in the Team Settings, that the deletion of posts is allowed. Outside of that, I would recommend checking with your IT team to see if they have applied a Retention Policy preventing the deletion of Posts, and if not, raise a ticket to Microsoft Support to take a look 😀
There are 2 versions of Teams. One for personal use....one for business or school. Personal lacks some important features. Such as an add in to your Outlook e-mails.
There is indeed but that is changing, they are now going to have one version of Teams for both personal and business and we will cover that new approach soon on the channel 😁
Hi Scott, I find that whenever I am looking at files on teams then someone send me a message; and when I go to the message my position in files disappears and I have to start over. Do you know a fix for this.
I think I know the issue, and it’s probably because when you open the Teams Message it will effectively close down the Teams window with the File open, as it’s possibly being displayed though the Teams App. It does that similar to opening a web browser, so if you move out of that window, it closes it. If that’s the case, I’d recommend either opening the file in the App (like Word etc) by selecting ‘Edit in App’ within the file. That then means you can open Teams messaging and the File is open in the App and doesn’t get closed. Another option is that you can open a Teams Chat in a separate window by right clicking the Chat. This then separates the Chat into a different window and allows you work on your file in Teams uninterrupted. So there’s a couple of things to try 😃
As @Muhammad-Owais has mentioned, the Files Tab on the left is now being re-branded to OneDrive. We actually have a new video on our channel about those changes and show how to get that Tab back, in case it's disappeared too 😀
