How to use the Quick Clean Pod with Philips Shavers

This video shows you how to clean your Philips Shaver with the Quick Clean Pod.
1. Remove the top of the Quick Clean Pod and place the cartridge without the lid into the QCP.
2. Put the top back and turn it clockwise until it clicks.
3. Place the shave into the QCP and turn the shaver on.
4. Cleaning takes one minute, but leave it in the QCP to dry.
Replace the cleaning fluid cartridge if necessary. If you have a connected shaver you can check your cartridge usage in the app.
This video is applicable for the following model numbers: S5579, S5584, S5586, S7782, S7783, S7786, S7788, S7731, S7732, S7735

Thanks to this innovation, my father in law can have a stress free shave again. He gave up on manual razors because he has a very shaky hand. Also to manually clean it was a nightmare for him once a week. Thank you Philips R&D department 👍

a step backwards, the earlier 7000 was being charged in the cleaning pod, now it's the other way round, why? and why are you still wasting tons of plastic instead of providing the fluid in a bottle? is it because everyone would be aware, that this flusid is expensive like a pretty awesome single malt or wine? it adds up to just below 40€/Liter. WOW

Why would you leave the hairs in the shaver? Of course you'd need to empty the hairs out before cleaning.

I bought Norelco 9800 with charger stand and cleaning station. The one thing I don't like is how those two are separate. Other electric shaver brands have the charging/cleaning station in one.

I don’t really mind it at all. It makes the cleaning base less bulky and easier to clean it out and up. Plus I like that I don’t always have to have it plugged in. I’d rather have to plug the razor in once a week to charge vs keeping the base plugged in all the time.

Does this work with the S9552/26? I'm using SmartClean system but it is hard to get new cleaning cartridge and I'm considering buying the Quick clean pod system.

You can use the following cleaning cartridges though in your shaver: JC301/JC302/JC303/JC304/JC305 Feel free to confirm your country of residence in a Private Message if you would like us to check the availability further for you ☺️

@@Philips That would be great! According to the Philips website there's two versions of cleaning stations. CP0253 works with all series 5000 and 7000 of that generation. CP9060 works with all series 9000 of that generation and 3 others (S7920, S7921 and S5110). What I would like to know is if a current generation series 5000 or 7000 shaver (e.g. S7788) is compatible with either the CP0253 or CP9060 cleaning station.

I have just starting using the Quick Clean Pod which has replaced the powered Jet cleaner used with my previous shaver. I have a couple of bottles of the Jet Clean Solution left over and was wondering if this solution could be used to replenish the Quick Clean Pod cartridges? One comment I would make regarding the Quick Clean Pod is that the shaver doesn't dry off properly if left in the pod, with the result that shaving performance is impaired.

However, we recommend transitioning to Quick Clean Pod cartridges once your Jet Clean solution runs out, as the Quick Clean Pod solution is specifically formulated to meet the needs of the new razors. To ensure optimal drying, please be careful not to overfill the Quick Clean Pod cartridges, as this could prevent the shaver from drying completely overnight. Hi Vivek! An indicator will flash to indicate when the gel/cleaning fluid has been used to the maximum capacity. For daily use, you would most likely replace monthly, for weekly use, every three months. The gel that you say is the equivalent of one replacement. Hope this helps answer your doubts. 0:50 "but leave the shaver to dry for some hours before storing it" ok, but where do I let it dry? open or lying? in the cleansing base or outside? There is not a single video on the entire internet or official page that says that part of "drying". After that cleaning minute, the machine remains soaked with the cleaning liquid, it even drips a little... so, how do we let it dry? where? how?

Philips, This is a bad recommendation. It is best to let the shaver dry without taking it out of the station. Then nothing will drip from the shaver. On older models, the shaver was dried for several hours in the station and there was an indication of when the shaver was in the drying stage and when it was dry and could be taken out of the station.

We would like to inform you that yes, you can keep the cartridge in the pod for three months. If you use the cleaning system weekly, then the cleaning fluid in a cartridge should be enough for three months. If you are a more regular user, then the cartridge will need to be replaced much earlier, possibly within a month. The Philips Cleaning cartridge comes with a special cleaning fluid designed for this device. Please do not try to refill the cartridge with a different kind of cleaning solution. I think the easiest way is to get rid of hairs with tap water first then use the pod so you are sure you won't have hair in it

The only difference is that QCP10/01 uses the Quick Clean Pod after each use to keep your shaver looking new. The Quick Clean Pod effectively removes cut hairs, leaving your shaver 10 times cleaner than using just water. Hi Allen, no you don't need to. :) The Cleaning cartridge can be reused multiple times therefore you have to take it out only when it's empty and ready to be replaced. If you use it daily, replace it once a month, if you use it weekly, replace it every 3 months. Hope this answer your question!

So many confusing comments. Once it’s cleaned, do you leave it standing upright in the cleaning dock? Or do you need to remove it from the dock? Your comments advise both, but clearly one options is the ‘right’ option. Can anyone else help?

Hej Khoshnaw och tack för din kommentar. Till alla våra rakapparater så är det rekommenderat att öppna upp rakhuvudet efter varje rakning för skölja bort allt stubb. En gång i månaderna ska man även ta ut rakbladen för skölja dem individuellt. Ifall du använder en rengöringsstation så är vätskan 10 gånger mer effektivare än vatten och kan genomföras varje dag. Tänk på om du använder rakapparaten med raklödder, rakgel eller förbehandlingsprodukter ska du skölja rakhuvudena noga innan behandlnigen. ☺️ /Oscar

This genius didn’t lift this pod out and place it in the unit. Instead, I just poured all the liquid into the unit and threw the pod out. Seems to work fine though, but are there any risks?

This reply is late but maybe it can still help you. So personally I think you might be good, but I would watch out for a few things. First of all I think you will get the empty warning a lot sooner, because the fluid level will be lower. Second you might get issues with hairs, the cleaning cartridge contains a set of ridges and is made like a maze to catch hairs and keep them from getting back to your shaver or into the pump. If I were you, I'd keep using it this way until it's empty, which it probably is by now, but I'd take extra care to flush out the hair pieces before using the station.

Hello, Patricia! Thank you for your comment. The Quick Clean Pod is not compatible with Philips shaver S7940/84. The shaver also doesn't have a consistent stand. You may use to travel pouch that it came with to protect and limit physical damages to the shaver. Hope this helps. Take care!

So the hefty price I paid for your shaver with "smart clean" system I got not even 2 years ago is no longer supported and broke twice. Now I have to buy a completely new system just to use.. so you finally stop using cheap parts or am I going to play this game again of this product breaking in 6 months and have to keep bugging you for a replacement with my warranty?

@@Philips I already been down that path and you sent a replacement which didn't even last long (3 months,the pump rusted and stopped working like the previous cleaning system.) I'm really tired of asking for replacement and just want it to work without breaking. The shaver is great,just the cleaning system had huge design flaws with the cheap pump inside

You can quickly check compatibility by turning your shaver upside down and pressing the on/off button. If you see the cleaning reminder (3 dots) turn on, then your shaver is compatible with the Quick Clean Pod. Currently, the following model numbers come with the Quick Clean Pod: S5579, S5584/6, S7782/3/6/8, S9933, S9935, S9936, S9982, S9985, S9986, and S9987. If your shaver's model number matches these, it's compatible. We hope this information helps.

However, it is important to note that if the shaving heads are still wet, they may not glide across the skin as smoothly as they normally do, resulting in more friction. We generally recommend that the skin be dry for optimal shaving performance. If you prefer wet shaving with foam and water, that is also perfectly fine. Just ensure that you have enough foam and water for a smooth glide. Water-only shaving is not recommended as it may result in poor gliding. After shaving, we advise performing the cleaning ritual again. Additionally, it is important to air-dry your shaver before storing it in a closet or any other place where it cannot dry properly. Hi there, DJ. The cleaning pod, while handy, is not obligatory for cleaning our shavers. Most units can be cleaned under the tap (S1000, S3000 and S6000 and also to some new shavers from series S5000, S7000 and S9000 from production date after 2020). We hope this helps!

If you use your shaver every day for approximately 30 days, then you need to replace the cartridge every 2 months. To clean Shaver heads with the one-touch open system, switch on the shaver and rinse the shaving unit under a warm tap. Switch off the shaver and press the release button to open the shaving unit. This stuff clearly is effective at cleaning and maintaining the shaver. BUT, and it's a big but (well, 3, actually)! First, replacement pods are stupid expensive. Second, why can't you seal the pod after use so you don't risk spilling the liquid during storage? Third, it is a reckless use of plastics - you should be able to buy big bottles of the fluid and refill the pod from the bottles. Does Philips, as a corporation, have so little regard for the environment?

@@PhilipsSorry about the confusion. I was talking about the cleaning liquid. Should I leave it in the Quick Clean Pod, risking evaporation and spills, or should I extract the plastic recipient with the liquid from the Quick Clean Pod and put the lid on the plastic recipient?

What a waste of plastics, like mentioned before, you need to bring out a bottle with the solution for filling afterwards, not sell separate liquid plastic pods! Milieuvervuilers!

Seems incredibly wasteful to have to throw out the cartridge, since a lot of plastic isn't really recycled. Surely those smart engineers at Philips can figure out how to make the cartridge refillable.

Wait, pour away any remaining fluid? So the product can't even be used fully and I'm wasting some each time it needs a new pod? What a wasteful product. Those invested should just buy a jug of barbicide and refill the pod.
