Thanks a lot for this video!! I lowered my loft for more distance and I lost my draw, now I know it’s opened the club face! I’ll look into the weights to see if I can cure that next.

I've had me M4 for over 2 seasons now. First thing I did was crank the loft down 8°. Ever since then, I've been fighting the ball right when my normal has been a gentle draw. Now I know why. And now I'll never not get custom fit again. 😅 Thanks.

I just got a used 8.5° M9 460° today. I am excited to see how the lower loft will feel. I have used a 10° driver for a few years now and routinely hit high draws with a good carry distance but no roll out. Hopefully, I’ll get more roll and decreased backspin.

Keep in mind that any adjustable club cannot fix a bad swing. But they can make a good swing better as it has for me. I have two of these clubs (9.5 & 14). They both work for me AFTER I fixed my swing error (mostly outside in = bad bad slice).

I appreciate this video, helps understand what the notches mean. But maybe a more in depth review of how each setting would impact your flight in practice. i.e: -.75 degrees of loft and a 1.5+ open, how would that compare to the opposite of that

I had this all ass backwards for years. Fighting a draw i though I was opening the face by putting it higher. I just reset all my woods I can't wait to see how I hit it now! Thanks so much for this video cause I used to crush my driver until I closed the face thinking I was opening it! @thomascampbellgolf
@thomascampbellgolf 4 года назад
Hi Jon thanks for watching! Yes the M6 D-Type is a draw bias driver as the face sits more closed and center of gravity is more in the heel of the club. I also recommend adjusting the hosel to the upright setting (flip it to the back side) 2nd question: yes you can use the hosel from the M6 driver in the new SIm Max head. I’m lefty as well and tend to fade as well. You need to look at the adapter on the shaft if it says RH you will need to loft down to close the face and to help with the slice. Only reason I know this I found out the hard way 😂 couldn’t figure why I was hitting it so far right and turned out I had a RH shaft lol. So if it is RH just loft down which is closing the face and increasing loft

Hi Brandon yes the same information about closing the club face for a right handed golfer is the same for a lefty. I would suggest flipping it around to the back of the hosel to the 4* upright setting, and possible give yourself more loft. Make sure your driver shaft hosel says LH if it is a RH hosel you will have to do everything completely opposite (flipping hosel 180*)

Hi David, thanks for the comment! The lie angle has to do with how the club sits on the ground. An upright lie angle slightly closes the clubface while a flatter lie angle will open the clubface a little bit.

@@2ndswing are the shaft adapter for L & R'hand clubs the same or is a Lefthanded adjustable shaft specifically for a Lefthanded Clubhead? I guess what I am asking are they identical & interchangeable or are they equal but opposite & not interchangeable b/w Left & Right-handed driver Clubheads?. Also is there anyway I can adjust my M6 D clubhead so that I have Low loft (10 or below)+ Low (flatter) Lie & also a Closed Clubface!!!?. Am I correct in thinking that I can't acheive a flatter lie angle without opening the face a little. I am trying to achieve a flatter lie angle with a closed face & getting a fair bit confused. Also on my M6 Draw driver in the std loft position (10.5) is my clubface in a square or closed position (by how much). Is the changing of the lofts only changing by + or - the degree of Closedness from the Std original Loft. Or am I actually opening or closing the degree of clubface from an original 10.5deg position (which is square or actually closed a bit?). I hope I haven't confused you as much as myself. Thank you.

Hi Tristan, apologize for taking so long to respond to your question. Loft will be close but you are closing the face if you increase the loft a notch. This may make the club a little draw bias (closed face) I do suggest getting the correct loft on the driver head then make any adjustments. You also may want to try two notches if you are not hitting it as high as your older burner.

@2ndswing
@2ndswing 3 года назад
The only option you have would be to play around with the upright settings. If you want a slightly lower loft you may want to consider a 9* head (in upright or by turning the loft to say 10*). I would try the upright position or even putting the loft up a couple notches. Keep in mind a fade will lead to more spin and a higher ball flight so if your direction is corrected the ball may actually fly slightly lower. -Thomas

Assuming you have reduced the loft to 9.5, the face angle would still be open. The draw designation that Cobra uses is a result of creating a more upright lie angle. Thanks.

When making a hosel adjustment if you increase loft from say 10.5* to 12.5* (HIGHER setting) it closes the face from 10.5* to 8.5* (LOWER setting) it opens the face. Focus more on the face angle adjustment than the loft and if you need less loft on a driver I would switch heads to a 9* first before any adjustments - Thomas

Hi, thanks for the comment and for watching the video! Try the stated loft upright setting, which can be found by turning the hosel 180 degrees from the standard setting. This will increase the lie angle by four degrees to make it more upright, but the loft will stay the same. This should help combat your slice. The other settings that create a more upright lie angle also create more loft, which would create more spin.

@thomascampbellgolf
@thomascampbellgolf 4 года назад
Thank you for watching this video. It would be very convenient if the loft and lie was not affected. Keep in mind when fitting for a driver its more important to get the correct loft fitted to the player first, then golf shaft and then make some adjustments if necessary. For example fitting the player into a 9 or 10.5* driver first based on launch and spin numbers then making the loft/lie adjustments based on fade/draw tendencies, rather than a giving a player a 10.5* driver head, realizing that the player launches the ball or spins the ball to much and dropping the loft down, which actually opens the face.
@vahag25
@vahag25 3 года назад
@@thomascampbellgolf I like to say get fitted for the swing you want, not the swing you have. If someone wants to beat his buddies this weekend, maybe get fitted for the swing you have. But if a player accustomed himself to more advanced equipment, (heavier, stiffer, flatter, less loft), then that player might have a better chance at improving technique and developing a powerful, correct, repeating swing. Dress for the job you want, not the job you have.
@kboy19831983
@kboy19831983 4 года назад
I don't mean to criticise, but this is a really misleading explanation of how an adjustable hosel works. These settings change loft & face angle but not at the same time. If you loft down, yes the club will sit open, but that will have no effect on the loft. If you keep that face angle through to impact, you'd hit a slice shape with exactly same loft as stated on the head. To actually implement the loft change, the player needs to square the face up before grounding, or subconsciously square the face at impact. Tom Wishon has spoken at length on this subject.
@2ndswing
@2ndswing 4 года назад
Hi Thomas Campbell here, thank you for your comment. For this video we simply are educating our viewers what TaylorMade educates fitters with regards to loft. Yes you are correct when you loft down the face sits open and the club head will not exactly be 2* lower in loft. Similarly for lofting up the face sits closed. If you want two degrees less or more loft, switch to a clubhead that has 2* less or more loft, don't just adjust the loft sleeve. It can be misleading how it is presented, which is why I mentioned this towards the end of the video at 5:22
@surroundedbyjaggoffs
@surroundedbyjaggoffs Год назад
This adjustability is a hoax , if the shaft is not trued to the face of the club head , nobody knows where the Hell the ball is going IMO!!! I have one on my driver , at draw it goes straight not complaining on standard it slices like crazy my buddies club slices on draw and he never slices!🤔
