Although I have a Tour Edge Exotic EXS driver it does have seven of these adjustments. I was unsure what the various setting would do, so this was an excellent video and just what I was looking for! Great video and I especially found the chart very valuable.

I have also had many tm drivers,fairway woods and gapr lo and did not know this. You are awesome. I was wondering why I cranked my m5 tour down to 7 degrees and it was slicing way more than 9 degree setting and my original one was doing the same set at 9.5 degree but I have it all fixed thanks to you. Thank you again.

I am a left and for the longest time had a bad slice. Lots of practice i now play a nice looking fade. About 2 months ago I bought the M6 and it’s a 9* but like Mike said, I turned the loft to “highest” and now I am hitting the ball straiter and further than I ever have before. I wasn’t aware that the UPRT setting could help straiten those slices out tho? Good to know! Great video

Great video! Any chance you’d consider doing the same for the Cobra F9 fairway ? I’m struggling to find info on it. I’m trying to open the face a touch and possibly flatten the lie as well as I’m finding it to be a touch draw biased. Also, I’ve heard a good hack for this is to put a RH sleeve on LH club to get more fade bias. I’ve searched for info on that too with no luck!

Brilliant. Was going to change my M4 9.5 because of occasional hooks, however, altering the lower lie angle open by 1.5 degrees and reduced loft by .75 I’m smashing it in control . Hi. I have a Cobra driver. My Q is.....!.....What is the lowest loft/degree adaptors can be set to. Believe me!....I need a 5° loft. Yes five degrees. Lets not argue. Bryson de C use a 5.5°......probably custom built by Cobra. If you didnt know.....The late Calvin Pete who held driving accuracy nr.1 spot for 10yrs used a 4degree driver. I naturally hitball high. So I loose a lot of distance as result. Higher equals wider.....fact! Lower is straighter!

Thanks for that, I've always had a push fade as a bad shot and a slight pull fade ( so comes back to center ) on a good shot. Neither is ideal and never knew about the upright lie angle. Will try that tonight to see if it helps. I've got an M6 D-Type ( 12 degree ), I won it hence the higher degree but starting to think I need a custom fit, hopefully this will be a quick fix for the time being

Question about the sleeve… if I have a tendency to slice ball left to right… and I loft up/close face… but my setup remains the same at address.. wouldn’t I still slice the ball if I’m coming over the top or leave my face open at impact? Many thanks
@dondasher58
@dondasher58 5 лет назад
Shew.... lots of info! But it’s understandable...Oddly enough I hear of a growing number of people (I play with several) that want the standard non adjustable drivers. I’m curious if others have felt that way in other parts of the country or world. Personally I use an adjustable driver and hybrids. I enjoy the tweaking of getting my most consistent shots and yardages particularly with my hybrids. Thanks!
@MichaelNewtonGolf
@MichaelNewtonGolf 5 лет назад
I personally think adjustable drivers a good thing, multiple drivers in one......got to be good. UNLESS that particular golfer is a tweaker, moving settings every round to try and find the ideal setting. Goes back to the importance of getting it fitted then sticking with the setting.

@TP-xe2hi
@TP-xe2hi 5 лет назад
One thing no one ever seems to mention with these adjustable loft setting hozzels is you have to keep your hands aligned and positioned correctly on the grips every time. For me it's very easy to set the club down at address and let the grip slip to a comfortable position...at this point it really doesn't matter how you've locked the nozzle into place. Am I getting this right? I think fitters need to remind the golfer to make sure they hold the grip to the imprinted pattern.
@MichaelNewtonGolf
@MichaelNewtonGolf 5 лет назад
Yes true but really depends on the player. Some golfers react to the change in face direction and you can see them trying to alter to square up again. Where others aren't too aware and just let the club sit as it would do which is the best way as then allows the setting to work as it should.

Question Michael - is it still true that Tom Wishon proved, that driver loft with adjustable loft doesn't change unless you square the face? Adjusting the 'loft' and leaving it open or closed doesn't actually change loft and just face angle.

The hosel determines the loft and lie and not the shaft! You would need to bend the shaft to change either

Basically the adapter on the shaft tip is slightly off centre when you look at it so when fixed into the head it’s that that changes to face angle and loft. It sounds wrong but yes when you add loft it closes the face and vice versa. 👍

Where have you been, Teaching? This year setting is different than previous Taylormade drivers. This year will not fit me, 62 degrees is too upright, 58 is too flat unless shaft is 45.5 + in length. They used to be 59-60 degrees standard with square face. I think I will stay with my M-1, & Ping g-400. All this info is on Taylormade web site, stated under Tuning Manual. Too much stuff, excessive weight where it is not needed in a driver, down the hosel.
