Thank you so much for this knowledge. I am a graphic designer who has the brain of a goldfish and could not for the life of me remember so many of these little tricks. This is so helpful. Again, thank you for your guidance.
Hi what if I want to type on straight basic line (for example from one corner of square to another corner) and I want the text to be horizontal? Thank you.
If I understand your question, you're just wanting horizontal text to go across the width of a square. For that, you don't need to use the Type on a Path Tool, you just need to use the Type Tool, type text that fits where you want it to go, and place it on the square. Let me know if I'm misunderstanding your question. If you want to know how to use the Type on a Path Tool on a rectangle, I can show you how to do that.
@@SusanRutledge I need that text to be placed on slanted straight line but the text has to be in horizontal position to be readable. I've got a link of some product where it is visible but I can't post it here for some reason.
@@leblis97 I created a quick video for you; hopefully it either answers your question or will point you in a direction that gets you closer to figuring it out. Let me know if this helps. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ad-VKYGn1n4.html
I just found another answer to your question and wanted to share with you for future information. I think it's an easier solution. In the Character Panel there is an option for Character Rotation. You can get to this panel by going to Window>Type and choosing the Character Tab or by Clicking on the elipsis in the Character area of the Properties Panel when you have text selected. The Character Rotation icon is a T with a circular arrow around it. I just never paid attention to it before.
