is it different for boys hair? i mean we can wear more hats and beanies (tho not in sumr.) i think using an electric trimmer after to shape, just tricks ppl into thinking it was cut fine. i have a trifold mirror. but foing the back it still hard. gr8 vid. _JC
My wife is unwell asked me to help with her hair. Your guide was just what I was looking for after seeing a few on here. It made perfect sense how to do and she not only now looks lovely but has probably lost a few pounds in weight from the hair I removed!!! ;) Thanks girl!
Over a billion hair thinning videos on RU-vid. And all I can think of is, why oh why didn’t I watch THIS VIDEO first! Very articulate, you don’t bore us with unimportant information, you cut right to the chase. I’m a boy but I keep my hair a little long and I’m trying to survive in a post-coronavirus world
You did just fine and not one professional I've watched made a point of not cutting the crown and around the face!! I thank you and now, I need to thin my hair.
I did it!!! When I cut my first section, I freaked! But there was no going back. After I finished one side, I was so excited about how good it looked, I couldn't wait to do the other side! I'm so happy with the results! I only did 2 sections on each side and spaced out the cuts on each section to about 4-5 inches. I have waist length hair. I'm so happy I don't need to chop my hair to remove some weight! THANK YOU!!!
Me too, my hair goes all the way to my butt... I got some abd went to town tonight... It looks sooo much better and healthier, i was very scared, but it wasn't as bad as I thought...
I’m 56 and I have struggled with such thick hair I followed your easy instructions and IT WORKED !!! Thank you, they have thinned my hair at salons before and it always looks horrible afterwards so I thought there were no options for me once again thanks
You don’t need to apologize for your English. It was perfectly understandable. I am sure by now it is even better. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge with everyone. It helped me a lot!
You just explained how to do this in 10 minutes better than what some cosmetology instructors do all year in schooling. Great job! Thanks for the english version as well!
So glad I found this video!! I have thick long hair and my head hurts too from all the weight.. I really wanted to grow my hair out super long but it’s already super heavy.. this has helped, thank you
I started doing this two months ago- You have literally saved me so much time stress and energy!! I have the thickest hair, even when I get a haircut, it thickens after two weeks and becomes heavy, unable to style. Ever since I started using the shears, I haven’t needed to get a haircut and my hair is FINALLY starting to grow! It was nerve wracking at first but now I actually enjoy the process. Thank you for sharing ❤️😇
I don't think I've ever actually commented on a RU-vid video before but I just wanted to let you know this video saved me from so much frustration during quarantine. I have SUPER thick hair and whenever I've gone a significant time without a cut and thinning my hair sheds like crazy and takes forever to dry. This video was so great. I was nervous to take the leap and do this myself but it worked like a charm. Thank you! And your English is fantastic! 😊
Thank you so much for making this in English. I really appreciate your kindness. I had no issue and I feel confident with what I learned from your tutorial to try this with my thick hair. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this! The hairdresser had no idea what I was talking about and I felt so unsatisfied with my haircut for weeks. Finally found your video and the confidence to give it a try and a weight has literally been lifted off my shoulders! Will actually think about wearing my hair down again!
Thank you so much! You were so wonderful! Your English was great and I understood everything you told me to do! I never have tried to do anything like this myself before, but with your help I had confidence and now I can breathe and my head feels 40 pounds lighter! Thanks again so much!!!
Thank you so much for this video. I actually went through and did the technique 3 times through my hair and it feels a million times better. My hair is extremely thick and needed a good de-bulking. I normally am at the salon every 3 months and I feel like stylists never take out as much as I want them to so it's nice to have control of the weight myself now! Perfect for quarantine too!
Thank you for this tutorial. As I'm thinning my thick hair, I feel the love and hate relationship for it. After the thinning is done, I feel the love for it 💘
Thanks, Dannah! I just did the haircut today by myself using the method you showed us. It turns out the best haircut I’ve ever had. I watched several videos on RU-vid. Yours are the best which shows step by step and explains it so clearly. I wish u and your family the best! God bless us!
Thank you!! I haven't had my hair done since December 2019, my March appointments were cancelled & I've been stuck cutting & dying my own hair this year. I bought the thinning shears but have been afraid to use them. Just watched this, used them and feel like I lost 10 lbs!! Ahhhhh!! Kept my length & can barely tell I did anything to it...YAY!!!
This is what I'm hoping for. Trying this friday and am so scared I'm going to ruin my hair but the comments have me feeling a little more confident! .... :(
I watched this the other day and this morning I did it! I love the result. My hair feels softer and less heavy on my shoulders. I appreciate how you taught us how to hide the thinned areas.
Omg! You are incredible! All the hairdressers are closed and I’ve had bad experiences with them before. My hair grows very slowly and they cut off three inches! So this helped me so much. I can’t tell the difference in looks but it’s at least two pounds lighter. I was scared when I made the first cut but after it was so nice! I’m definitely going to be doing this when my hair is too heavy!
just watched this this morning because this girl needed to thin her hair out, and omg I can feel a difference!! The weight came off so much. Thank you for sharing 😊
This is great! I am currently growing out my hair to it's natural colour and grey. I have managed to layer my hair nicely but it's soooo thick I end up looking like a mushroom because the old hair was bleached (now dyed to match my natural) I know I need to take some weight off. I too get a sore head if I put my hair up for too long or if it isn't thinned. This is a perfect explanation - time to order my thinning scissors! Thanks for the great, easy to follow instructions =)
Yay! I have soooo many greys too! I would say my hair is 85% ( my dad genetics 😬) but I'm 34 and I look sick 🤣 I would wait few more years to follow your steps!
This is such a great video! I followed it just now and my hair feels so much better! I tried to be conservative at first but then went back through 1-2 small sections in the back because it was still bulky and now it feels great! Thanks for sharing this. Your English was good too, I understood you very well.
As a bald man, I normally wouldn't seek out this sort of video :) -- but I have a partner who has thin individual strands of hair very very densely packed across her scalp, and she normally needs an experienced stylist to manage her mane. In quarantine, however, she asked if I could help her thin out her hair, and this exceptionally detailed tutorial is as great as any technical instruction video I've seen on RU-vid. Thank you! Twice now, because of this video, I've managed to thin out her hair but without destroying her beautiful locks.
Have used this method for 2 summers now.. had left a message earlier on this video as well. What a game changer this method is! Also the investment on a good pair of thinning shears is so worth it. Not just are you able to extend your next haircut, but the weight from all the hair on your head is minimised dramatically. Thank you soooo much for this video. Can you make a video on how you section ur hair.. that kinda remains a challenge still. Its difficult to manage all the hair by myself.
I thought Salma Hayek was giving a tutorial haha You're beautiful and thanks so much for this tutorial. I managed to cut my hair with your directions and I feel sooooo much better. Hair is so much lighter now. You gave me the confidence to try! Thanks again!
Thank you so much for making this video. This helped me a lot. I haven't had a decent haircut in over 3 years and my hair is quite long and was all over the place. Just did my first time ever thinning out my own hair and I feel amazing. Your advice is so spot on with the do's and don't. Thank you thank you.
I am so glad I found this!! She explains the process super well and has actually shown me how to do it and why you do it this way. I’m going buy some thinning shears today!
Thank you so much for doing this video. I just came across this as I was trying to find a way to deal with my hair due to the salons being closed. I have alot of ridiculously thick hair and now I feel so much better. You have saved me a great deal of money as well! Bless you and thank you so much!
I too have really thick hair like you and yes sometimes all that hair does give you a headache. I wanted to see how hard it would be for me to start thinning my own hair an found your video the best in showing how to do. Thanks for sharing!!
Yeeeees it is a headache!!! Makes me so happy to know that works for you and that you are doing it at home. I am not profeccional I only share what works for me and I really appreciate your response.
Thanks so so so much for this video! 💗 I've literally only had one hair stylist thin out my so annoying thick hair correct once and then he moved to LA to cut celebrity hair. I think other hair stylists are afraid to do that much thinning. So I have just decided to learn how to do it myself. You did great, I understood everything you said. Thanks so so much again. I'm so happy to have all that weight off my head with no headaches!!!!
I have been wanting to try thinning my own hair for a long time. The idea of using thinning sizzors terrifies me. Watching this video has taken away my fears. Thanks 🙂
I just gave birth and desperately need to trim my hair. With a newborn it's tricky to leave the house for a haircut so I've ordered a pair of scissors and a thinning scissors online. Your tutorial will beme my guide! Thank you so much!
this is brilliant! congrats on your pregnancy.! and child birth if its been that long! just wanted to say how clear this video was. well explained. nice clear instructions and detail to each part the benefits and also the disadvantages to the errors!! loved it and subscribed straight away xxx
Thank you for reposting this video... Perfect and so needed right now! Thank you for being so brave and to your little angel for sharing her Mama to help the rest of us out...
Thank you for the tips! In lockdown (UK) my hair has become so heavy and hard to brush and dry. It pulls too much on my scalp if I try to tie a high pony tail. Your advice really helped! Glad I watched this before going in, as I wouldn't have thought to keep away from my crown lol. x
Uff just before it got ugly!! I have this other video with all the questions I have had ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gcuSjkbTIso.html
You're so welcome!! I have this Q&A up in my channel in case you have any other thinning doubts : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gcuSjkbTIso.html
Great job, you explained the technique really well! I am going to try this soon because my hair is getting super thick and all the salons are shut! Thanks for the video!!
First of all your hair is gorgeous and I think you have done a marvelous job at explaining how you use those thinning scissors. I too have very thick hair so I'm going to watch your video again and try to thin out my hair. Congrats on the baby. I hardly noticed the gray.
I've had these scissors for years and today I watched this video and this is the best I've ever done it. The last time I cut out huge chunks of hair 😬 Thank you for this video! 💜
You're a wonderful teacher! I did this, after a big mess up with thinning shears. I have really thick curly hair so I don't want to go to my hair dresser all the time to have it thinned or trimmed, so I learned it for myself. I'm not a professional but I do good for me. Thank you!
This video was so helpful! My husband watched this video and did an amazing job since I can't get to my hairdresser! Major thanks for this easy to understand video!
My granddaughter was born with super thick hair and her mother and I wanted to thin it to make it more manageable. Taking her to a stylist was an epic fail because she’s only 4. She’ll only sit still for me. And your video helped me so much! It was clear and easy to follow. I grew up a bit of a tomboy so I don’t know what I’m doing with hair. I did everything you said and her hair looks and feels so much better!! Thank you so much for posting this!!
This was incredibly helpful, thank you! I have been doing my family's hair during quarantine and wouldn't have known where to start with thinning. I've watched a few videos and read some articles, but this was honestly the best! Take care.
You did a great job explaining this. I had a feeling that there should be parts of the hair that doesn't get "thinned" and parts that do. I just wasn't exactly sure which. So your video really helped; I'm about to go do this right now. TYFS
I could understand you very well!! Thank you so much for sharing on how to properly thin out your hair!! My hair is so so thick because I have Filipino in my blood and I get head aches when my hair is so thick, so I started thinning out my own hair because I moved back to my home state and a hair cut is so expensive here it doesn't make sense. I used to spend $25 for a good haircut, shampoo, blow dry and thinking out and styling and here it is almost $80 for that! So I just started doing my own! This video was very helpful! 🥰
You're so welcome!! I have this Q&A up in my channel in case you have any other thinning doubts : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gcuSjkbTIso.html
Thank you very much for confirming how easy this is. I always thought it's logical not to thin your hair above the chin/face because it ruins the overall quality and the hairs sticking out just look terrible. I've had mine butchered by incomteptant hairdressers twice now. I am definitely getting those scissors and trying it myself.
That is so annoying isn't it?! Especially with what they charge they should know how to properly cut. When this is done right, it doesn't take away from the beauty of thick hair, just makes it more manageable for the person under the head of hair:)
Wow, you explain and demonstrate this so well. I really want to try this now! I've had short hair my whole life and I'm trying to grow it out, but it is already SO thick at the back of my head and neck.
This is life-changing!!!! Thank you so much for this helpful video. Your accent is lovely and I had no problem understanding your instructions 🙂 My hair is so heavy and thick and is literally a headache to deal with. But after following your instructions, my hair finally feels light weight and manageable without losing any length 🙂
I have very very thick hair down to my lower shoulder blades and it is so thick I have a very hard time using an 8 inch hair stick on it. Thank you, I learned something here today. But I am not brave enough to try this on myself--I will get my stylist to help me.
Wow thank you!! It's the first time my strange hair is laying down! Length between chin and shoulders, never wore it open, it's not curly not straight, but i am stunned that it worked! I have those scissors here and never used them until today. Best thing ever, I was always complaining. I was a bit worried since it seemed I cut off a third of my hair but it's still the same (shitty) length, my ponytail is half as thick as before. It's hanging down I can't believe it
Nicely done video!! Loved it!!!!! update: I just followed your instructions and it came out great!!! Thank you!! Best video I’ve seen so far on taking out some bulk from hair
@@danielareynoso.r don’t worry! I think you deserve it since it’s the best video I’ve seen so far! But it was a little hard at first to follow first with interruptions but I replayed it again and it was fine.
Omigawd. I raised i have been using thinning shears wrongly ask this time!. After watching your video i went to cut my hair and i am so happy with the results! Its probably not salon standard but its perfect for me until i get to th salon
I'm gonna try this today on my sisters crazy thick and frizzy hair I can't wait to use the 3 to 4 clips of the shears on the hair and see a difference thanks
I followed your instructions in how to properly thin very thick, coarse, wavy hair and it worked like a charm. All I had to do was slightly trim the back because i thinned that hair a little to much and i layered my bangs and that was it. I really didnt have to do alot of cutting and trimming. I still have my legnth other than that everywhere else except the back. Thank you so very much for sharing your techniques, I really appreciate it.😃 B.T.W. Congradulations on your pregnancy😃
So glad it was helpful!!! Thinning is just a miracle!!! Thanks sweety this video is back in 2016 my first pregancy and my first born daughter! She's a beautiful Baby angel!! My sweet Kenia. She was born beautifully sleeping!!
