How to use your dentist made custom made tooth whitening trays- a demonstration of putting gel in the trays and placing them in your mouth and some facts about tooth whitening and tips .
I have the Philips home whitening kit 16% for sleeping in but no where in the instructions does it say to dry my teeth prior to putting in my trays so I haven’t been and I’ve used 3 syringes already! Feel like I’ve wasted those now cause the instructions are unclear on what exactly to do…
You did a way better job than my dental hygienist. This was super informative. Thank you!! I didn't even see the smaller siringe with the fine tip on my pola night kit. When I saw yours I realised I missed something..So I've been over using the gell and my application wasn't as good as yours. Thank you.
I did that as well, I didn’t realise the fine tip and wasted an entire syringe, it also made me put too much on 😂 Luckily my dentist gave me 10 syringes haha x
I find that no matter what amount of gel I put in my trays it gets on my gums and it burns soooooo much that is instantly makes my gums WHITE!! I have to remove and rinse within 30 SECONDS! Imagine if I left it for 30 minutes.
I have been placing the gel wrong this whole time 🤦🏻♀️ I have the trays with the scalloped top and I have been placing the gel in the bottom part because I read it somewhere else , thankyou for the video !
I was applying it exactly like you the first time because the assistant dentist explained it wrong. I was wondering why there is an indentation in the middle of each tooth on the tray and I started applying the gel in those indentations, this video confirmed the technique for me.
My dentist explained it so briefly and fast, I couldn't get it all. My gums are usually very sensitive and today I used my electronic toothbrush and made matters worse. The back of my top front tooth is irritated. Today is day # 4 of 21 days. Can I continue or hold off for a day?
Usually my patients wear the trays overnight - at this time the saliva flow is reduced - also the amount of gel placed as recommended by your dentist should be minimal and your trays should be tight so no gel should be leaking into your mouth and your saliva will be fine to be ingested . If you have concerns please get your whitening trays checked by your dentist
Hello, little sister. I got my teeth scaled three times in past 10 years but there are yellow colour lines which are inside the layers of enamel and doctor recommended dental bleach. Do my teeth become weak? One more thing:- I faced right Hemicolectomy and chemotherapy in 2017 after my appendix got leaked in Feb 2017(I gone through 6 cycles of chemotherapy on suspecious_base of a tiny pointed_black spot in the removed part of large intestine)(now facing inflammatory bowel problems as side effects of chemotherapy, which got started during corona pandemic and , I can't work outside). I noticed a cavity in one of my (upper right) molar tooth ,after completion of chemotherapy. Is there any , WAY , to get rid off yellow (inside teeth) stains in less_price? (My personal earning is just under 3000 per month, other than my family. I don't want to be dependent on family. They already spent a lot to save me.) Don't consider my words as sympathy. I want to know if I can correct my teeth in very less_amount 🙏
I don't understand the part at the beginning that says it is illegal for anyone other than your dentist to apply, because I am about to get a set from my dentist that he has already said I can use at home once he has shown me how to use it.
I did mine the ribbon way. Fell asleep and my gum was white in some areas. They hurt to brush. Now, I know. I only did it once. So glad I found this video. Thanks!

Doctor, I messed up my whitening tray. Can’t afford to replace it atm. Can I use the whitening gel directly on my teeth? Much appreciate for the feedback if possible 🤲🏾
@@selinasufrazdentist-theden5317 thank you for the reply can I use my night guard I haven’t used it yet plus I’ve had the whitening gel for a while now does it expire 🤭
@@hailebenoir5321 the gel Does have an expiry date - check It - your dentist should check your night time retainer and see if it is suitable- sometimes it is
I feel like I am doing it wrong, the gel seems to smudge against the back of my teeth and over my gums when I put on the retainer. I am not seeing results after 9 nights. Maybe it's because I'm still drinking coffee, I can't give it up.
When you say to avoid food and drinks that would stain a white shirt "whilst whitening"... do you mean literally whilst whitening your teeth with the gel or just the whole process over weeks, as in avoid these foods for a long time in order to get better results?
i can see there are air bubbles in the retainer once placed on my teeth (and in your video) does this mean i need to put in more gel ? does this mean it will be an uneven coverage? thanks!
Just have two questions. After opening how do you store it ? E.g. in the fridge? And I have 4 syringes and I have to do this for 14 days. So does that mean that the 4 syringes is supposed to last me for more than one 14 day treatment. ? E.g 56 days in total ?
Hello, do I have to use custom trays or can I use regular whiting trays?? Because custom trays are so expensive, but if I get the custom trays can I use them more than once?
Custom whitening trays are made to make sure the whitening gel is delivered safely and in as small a measure as possible in order to get a good result .You can use them more than once and yes I do only recommend them .
Hi i have finished a 2 weeks session and finished the gel and my teeth are whiter but will i get whiter teeth than my already whiten teeth if i get more gel and do another 2 weeks DR?
Dung Anh without seeing your teeth it’s hard to say , but generally teeth will continue to whiten until they reach the point that they cannot get any whiter . This takes a different time for everyone. This is why it’s best to whiten under the supervision of your dental professional who can guide you .
Hi Dr I'm just wondering is £350 for 16 percent home trays from the dentist a steep price i hear the average is £300 I was going to call afew local surgery's and find the cheapest
Adil MOHAMED you’re supposed to leave it on 15-20 minutes TOPS, 22% is very high,. even the dentists who do the whitening for you do intervals of 15 minutes because it is a high percentage of peroxide
Selina Sufraz Dentist-Hello Doctor, my dentist gave me Zoom night use 22% CP, and advised me to put it for 10 hours, while the user manual of the product says put it for 2 hour, and you’re saying 20 minutes is enough. Please help, thank you
Thank you this is very helpful for me , ive started the 16% boutique whitening kit today , and my dentist didn't pre warn me about the sensitivity, i thought why is it hurting me?, but you have reassured me that this is normal ..cheers :)
commentaire 1 you are correct - the General Dental Council states - The High Court confirmed the GDC position that tooth whitening is the practice of dentistry and can only safely and legally be offered by registered dental professionals in the case of GDC v Jamous [2013] EWHC 1428. This is regardless of the products used
Why would you not get the opinion of a trained, qualified and experienced dentist when it comes to what basically is bleach in your mouth? Some people can put their pride and vanity aside when it comes to their general health and wellbeing.
My dentist failed to mention before I paid for the treatment that my theeth will be sensitive for a time and that it's 14 day treatment (she said 7 days before I paid) also she said I may need more syringes if I want them more white when intially she said they will go superwhite and I won't need more and lastly she told me about the food and drink restrictions she should have told me beforehand, I wouldn't have it done if it means giving up coffee and tea I I don't funtion with out them. I already asked her for a refund once going to ask again tommrow then seek some legal advice.
Thank you for this video Dr. Sufraz. I am currently doing the home tray with opulence. You showed a picture of teeth with white spots. I see that already after my first treatment for inly 1.5 hrs. Is there anything that can be done to improve even distribution of whitening or to prevent white spots
Well this is annoying. I didn't receive the special tip for the zoom gel. The one that looks like a double barrel. I knew something wasn't right. So glad I found this video but now I'm trying to think of what I can use to funnel the gel into or whether I should pull all of the cotton off a qtip and use the end of the stick to spread the gel. Hmm.
My orthodentist gave me a whitening gel and my tray for the upper teeth.i put them every day (I've been using it for two days) she didn't gave a LED light . I put it for one hour as she told me. How many times should I use it to notice a different. (How many shades should it whiten my teeth?)
Hi Dolly - it all depends on exactly what active ingredient in the gels that you were given . Normally a difference will happen within 7 days but often when you whiten the upper and lower teeth together you won’t notice the change as it is so gradual .
First time use of the Carbamide 16% Peroxide I overfilled the trays...gums are sensitive now because of it. Should I wait a few days before using again or just be more careful to only use a small amount of gel per tooth?
wait a few days, only use a little gel- make sure it does not ooze out of the tray but more importantly take your trays for your dentist to check the fit is correct .
Hi, my dentist has told me to use the whitening gel using my retainers i got after braces, is this okay to do? Because i can taste the gel when i put the trays in my mouth! :/
Selina Sufraz Dentist-The Dental Sage ok. I ment I have the 30 percent. How long should I wear them?? My Dentist office was of no help in telling me how to use this. I have the trays and 2 syringe.
joanne Bloomfield it depends on what gets you are using - as usual best to consult your dentist , as there may be more sensitivity with increased usage
