Brilliant advise there Martin. Very well covered. The main take away is;- if you want to hike into old age, start using trekking poles now. Safe the joints especially the knees, prevent falls and enjoy hiking into old age. Great video, and no old silly music. LOL lol.
Really informative video! So glad I found your channel man. Funny story, just yesterday I was going to wind camp in Ballyhoura, and I had a nice dip in wet bog lol. I had to get back home, no wild camp for me anymore. I'm going to get some trekking poles now haha
Hey Barry. Likewise pal.. I was using them wrong for a long time also. This technique makes sense to me. My poles are the Black Diamond Trail Cork Trekking Poles. Colour - Picante
@@soletrail Jumping into this chat - I'm looking at getting the non-cork version of that model. They have the two sets of baskets which seems handy for boggy land etc. Do they come with the rubber part to go over the tip? Basecamp have a good price on them and give a scouting discount.
Can’t thank you enough for this instructional video about using trekking poles. I recently bought some that I will be using in Ireland and hadn’t even thought about the proper way to use them. Love your videos! 👍
Likewise... Its something you don't think about at the start. But honestly it actually works. Really does. Slow and steady up hill and use this form. Its great. Thank you for the support.. I try my best ☺️ where you planning on hiking in Ireland?
