That looks incredible! I just got into using washes, and I'd love to try chipping mediums next... well, after I get an airbrush and play around with that first. I haven't seen anyone use a wash like a glaze like that. It has a really subtle, but definitely noticeable effect.

Nice tutorial! Im a beginner, do i have to use a clear coat before use that(maybe tamiya clear coat)?
@DaCostaStudio
@DaCostaStudio 4 года назад
Hello. Yes, it should be applied with a layer of varnish to protect the painting. Tamiya's varnish can be used without problems. Thanks for watching :)

Are the Vallejo Model Washes basically like a "glaze" versus other brands "washes" that tend to darken the nooks and crannies?

Very nice effect. I am doing a project using AK colors (acrylic lacquer). Can i use them directly or do i need to apply warnish before (same AK)?
@DaCostaStudio
@DaCostaStudio 4 года назад
I always advise applying varnish. This way we avoid possible reactions. You should also wait 24 hours for the varnish to dry well and if possible satin varnish. Thanks for watching :)

Hello. Nice and useful tutorial. I am going for Tiger 1/16. Huge one. What if I use airbrush instead of brush?
@DaCostaStudio
@DaCostaStudio 4 месяца назад
Hello. With the brush you have more control during the process, as it is acrylic, it dries very quickly. But for a general wash it works very well by airbrush. Thank's for watch 😁

Very nice effects but squairly on the wrong model. Don't forget that V2's were build in the factory and only used once. There was no prolonged period of time these machines were carried around were they'd accumulate all kinds of wear and rust. They were build, transported to their launch location and then launched at the enemy. They never got a chance to chip their paint.
@DaCostaStudio
@DaCostaStudio 4 года назад
No doubt. This V2 will be a What If of her abandoned :)
@EidolonSpecus
@EidolonSpecus 3 года назад
While that is true for all the V2s that were used, some unused V2s were not brought to a lunch site before the end of hostilities or the capture of their factory. It could have hypothetically sat in a hangar somewhere well into the Cold War, and not necessarily in Germany even. This one could make for a very interesting diorama of a slightly-post-apo National Air and Space Museum, where AFAIK one of the last surviving V2 rockets sits to this day, unused. The U.S. Air Force officially transferred that V-2 to the Smithsonian on May 1, 1949. The National Air Museum moved it to a _storage facility_ in Maryland in 1954 and *_it effectively did sit in a hangar gathering dust for 20 years_* before the National Air and Space Museum restored it in 1975-1976 for exhibition in its new Mall building.

They drying too fast. I am preferring to use oils instead. “Oil paint rendering” by Michael Rinaldi
@DaCostaStudio
@DaCostaStudio 4 года назад
I also love using oils, but well-handled these washes are brilliant to use and maybe sometimes this will be my purpose of washing, drying and continuing to work without having the problem drying time and activation the oils. And another great thing on this, i can put oils on the top of this whit out any problem. Stay safe and good Modeling :)
@rossomachin
@rossomachin 4 года назад
Da Costa Thank you! By the way, you can dramatically reduce drying time if you put oils on the piece of cardboard (30 minutes) and also use hairdryer on low heat.
