Tried this with my desktop computer and my laptop. Both are not working. Connected device to the hotspot don't have an internet connection. All i want to do is use vpn through my xbox. Sadly my ISP provided box doesn't have VPN built in.
@Surfshark Academy Hotspot doesn't work at all from my laptop and desktop. This is with and without vpn enabled. Doesn't work with other devices connected to it either. It's like DNS stops working when connected to the hotspot.
@NoobHacker92 I have no idea. I'm using windows 10. I ended up just giving up trying to use my VPN on my Xbox. The reason why I wanted to do so has been resolved now. Rockstar finally fixed it. My ISP raised a ticket with them and it took them almost a year to respond.
i do not see anything that resembles TAP - Surfshark windows adapter and i have followed your steps. i see the LAN. i am using a gaming laptop that has mobile hotspot capabilities. please help
One of the most reliable ways to find out if your VPN is actually hiding your IP address or current location is to use a coordinate-based geolocation. Make sure you are connected to the VPN and then just go to any search engine (like Google) and ask any of these following questions. 1) "What's my current location?" 2) "What's my IP address?" 3) "Where am I at right now?" And you will see whether or not the VPN is actually doing what you're paying for it to do. 9x out of 10, it isn't hiding anything, and you are being scammed out of your money! And if that's the case, report them as a scam!
Thankyou! Pubg turns to bot lobbies here in the UK around 2am so it's boring as shit when playing late. Can't wait to do this to get into USA servers :')
This isn't "Using a VPN on Console" because you're not installing the VPN on the console. This is "using a VPN WITH a console" or "accessing a VPN USING a console". There's a big difference.
Hi cybersecurity guy here. Think of your internet connection like a cable running from your home network to your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Normally, when you connect to the internet, your data travels through this cable and is visible to others using your ISP’s public IP address. Now, imagine instead of going straight to the public internet, your data first goes through a secure tunnel to a virtual private network (VPN). This tunnel encrypts your data, making it unreadable to anyone who might intercept it. Once your data reaches the VPN, it is assigned a new public IP address from the VPN provider (like Surfshark). This means that to the outside world, your internet traffic appears to come from the VPN's IP address instead of your ISP’s. Plus, many VPN services can change this visible IP address automatically at different intervals, keeping your connection secure and further protecting your privacy.
@@SurfsharkAcademy I figured it out. Turns out, my global IP was banned by Sony and my ISP changes global IPs every Sunday. So there is some poor sod out there that has by banned IP address now. LMAO
Got the hotspot set up correctly on my windows laptop but unable to connect the PS5 to the hotspot. My mobile also struggled before it was able to connect to the windows hotspot successfully. What could be the problem?
I have done this via my laptop - I use an ethernet from my PC to my xbox - It puts me in brazil - great but won't connect to data centres in MW2 - can you please advise?
