Recenty used watercolour pencils to draw hair and then used a wet flat brush over it, it was magical😍✨ Using them for highlights and small details on watercolour works really good as well.... Love from India💞
We only learned how people in ancient history around the world did their artwork and then we did it as well. This channel along with a few other's I watch are better than all art professors and teachers that I have had in the past.
I don’t have college teachers cuz I’m a middle schooler but I swear our art teachers are rubbish, they just tell you to do something and leave you to it so it’s just a huge pain...
I think it depends like drawing skin is easy for watercolors but texture like fur I find is harder in watercolor but it all comes down to what you usually use
Can you please make a video on how to color dark skin tone ,I'm struggling with it , you're agood teacher learned all of my skills from you!thank you❤❤❤
Nice suggestion 🥰 I have got tutorials on my channel for drawing different skin tones, but I haven’t got one specifically for darker skin tones. So, I will add it to my list 💕
Where did you got the photograph of the tiger? I spent a lot of time looking for it on the internet and didn't found, i wanted to use it a a reference photo, could you say where i can find it pleaseeee ;) Thanks
I get excited whenever you show the Albrecht Durer watercolours- it's the exact same 60 colour set as mine! Although you use them way better than I do 😄
I have the same pencils but I was always afraid to used it, because I didn't know how to used them Thank you🙏💕 (Sorry for my English, I'm from Spain ❤)
I really love your tutorials! I'm currently studying fine arts and your directions made me accomplish my plates with a beautiful output. (When we were asked to change medium from graphite to wc and color pencils it was really scary for me lol 😂) I love how you pinpoint every directions even the basic ones. Love from the Philippines!
Hi Kirsty this is Deanna Reti from New Zealand. I love all of your Art videos especially with Coloured pencils, also the ones showing the right and wrong way to do things in your Tutorials you are very pretty. I have bn following you for quite some time. Your Art is great. Thank you and take care and Blessings to you and your family and Everyone in England ❣️❤️
I was just thinking about drawing a tiger and here you pop up with this video Kirsty. Thanks a lot for this. Also I don't have a white colour pencil so is there an alternative??
I have trouble doing the sketch part I've tried multipule ways to draw animals, the grid, reference pic, both and a few others (I can't remember what they're called) but it doesn't look right, mind helping please!! Love your work hope to be like you❤❤
I appreciate your art lessons tremendously Ms. Kristy !! I am just starting to learn using watercolor pencils and watercolor painting. I dabble a bit on charcoal portraits. I am largely self - taught. I have been doing it off and on. Now I for some reason the passion comes raging in !! Thank you very much again !!
You are amazing! This is the most helpful tutorial I have seen for watercolor pencils! Thank you for sharing! I can't wait to try out these techniques on my next art piece :)
Hello! I have a quick question. Is it possible to sharpen watercolor pencils? If so how? I wonder if i could use the pencil sharpener but i don’t know. Edit: your drawing are AMAZING! 😭
I have some trouble making both my colored pencil and graphite drawings look smooth and crisp, I'd like to request a tutorial on that? Fantastic tiger btw! I thought it looked awesome even before you added the extra details!
Nice! apparently I need a better variety of brushes. How did you get the white watercolor pencil to layer so well over the other colors? I apologise if I missed the explanation but I replayed it and still didn't find it. It seems like I can never get white effects, only a slight lightening of a color.
Ohh I can’t wait to watch this!! I’ve had gifted water color pencils just sitting around for a couple years now. I have no idea how to use them and was too afraid to experiment on my own 😹 so I haven’t gotten around to it... until today! Thank you!!!
I got mine this year for Christmas but have just been sitting in my filing cabinet (it’s full of art supplies) ever since... I didn’t even know how to do it either... 😅
This is very nice Kirsty, it really pops off the page. Thank you so much! I especially love how you explained and told us what colors, you used, the order of colors & why. 💙 How are you and baby feeling?
Wow! Thank you so much for this video! I recently got a set of 18 Supracolor Soft II pencils as a gift and didn’t know what the heck to do with them 🤷🏻♂️ I started using them dry like I’m accustomed to with my Prismacolor’s and Pablos 🤣 Now I’m confident as to how to start with them. Thanks Kirsty!
Hi Kristy! I am a custom engraver and wood burning for pet(s) and pet memorials: cats, dogs, & horses. I am not an artist, but strickly work on wood. I am working currently engraving a dog's profile on an alder wood urn. Bacause the dog is multi-color: white, orange, Lt/Dark brown and black.. I don;t want to use stains anymore. Someone suggested using a watercolor pencils! So, I just purchased the 24 color Faber-Castell pencils yesterday at Hobby Lobby. This is my first WATCHING video on your RU-vid channel . I enjoy your knowledge, teaching techniques, attention to detail, etc. Other than learning how to use colored pencils and painting, I saw your "Animal" Teaching section. My biggest question for you is, do you have any teaching or videos on using watercolor pencils on WOOD??
Hello Kirsty, I do have a Question, do you have some advise and tips to make a clear line drawing. (I make to many details and get lost when I start coloring) And you showed us to make a shadow line on your reference. (that blocking in by the way is a wonderful tip)
Pregnancy looks good on you Kristy, you look happy! Another great project I’m looking forward to doing! I was looking for pictures to use, but this one looks great. 👍
👍👍👍Amazing ! Your painting is hyper realistic . But One thing I can't understand while I was watching this video . Some people dislike this . How can some body do like this??I am totally confused😳
Yu re a Queen of Art, yu re a Tutor, an instructor, you're a master, simply yu re jc All in one, I learn more from you 'cause you kno how to teach, i dnt doubt to hit a 'LIKE BUTTON', y shld I b tht selfish if yu love us, God bless you madam, ✌pc
I found this information more than helpful. 😁 I wasn't shore how to properly use Watercolor Pencils for realistic textures. This is the best example/tutorial I've ever found. 👍😊👍
Wow, you are an amazing artist. I'm watching your videos and as soon as I will have more time (I have a little one, so not much time to can draw) I want to follow your tutorials, I wish one day I will be able to do art as you. Best wishes. ✨🎨💐
Hi Kirsty, so interesting thank you…would you say white only works on top of painted areas rather than over coloured pencil, also which white pencil works best?
Woukd it be inefficient to use a Filbert Grainer to help make sure it creates the illusion of fur? Obviously a Filbert Grainer does well with making fur/hair/grass-like textures on its own, but as far as using it with only water to blend colored pencils, I am unsure. I would just worry I would lose/ruin the base layer's effect otherwise.
Hi and thanks for sharing this superb painting. Do you maybe have a template of this tiger's face which we can download and hopefully do a similar job? Thanks
This is a great tutorial! The pencils I've been using forever don't really allow for white on top of dark colors, so I think I might pick up some of the ones you're using!
Hi Kirsty. I was thinking of buying the Legacy Art Class Collection. Is there somewhere on the site that I can see a list of all the colored pencil classes included? I’ve been looking but can’t find it. Thanks!
Question, often they say that only black gives no depth... normally I see you layering colors under the black first... for instance burnt umber or sepia...why did you not do this here? Or will this get muddy with the watercolor pencils?
Have you had any experince of using a set of Staedtler Color pencils? Specifically the Ergosoft 157 or any of there color pencils if not that one per say. Thank you.
Beautiful. I wish I could draw this. Do you get any core braking? I had a different set many years ago but they were impossible to sharpen. I want to do more watercolour in colouring books.
the difference between albrecht durer wcs and goldfaber aqua is mostly the lightfestness. i bought goldfaber, because i saw this video and thought, wow how nice, i can draw a white line (a hair of fur in your case) above a dried watercolour background (exactly as shown as a result in your video). but it doesnt work AT ALL. i have wc paper. the white pencil doesnt show at all on top on another color. did you use something else for the white, maybe other pencils or paint?
I have used them to follow along with your tutorials on colored pencils. I don't like using solvents so watercolor pencils worked well. Are you doing more tutorials with watercolor pencils? Thanks for your videos. Very helpful!
Is been a year since you did this but I just found it, is beautiful and you are very talented, I have to admit, I feel very Intimidated to color a tiger I have different one in Kerby Rosane coloring book ,and stil did no do it, I will see the video again to follow your directions....but congratulations you did a wonderful video,,,,Thank so much I really enjoy.
Hey kirsty thank you si much for sharing your knowledge and experience here! Do you have or do you think you could share tipps about sitting posture, light and ergonomics in general. I find it really difficult to draw when the day lights is gone and drawing detsiks can be very tiring not only for the hand (especially with pens) and the eyes but also the back 🤔 thank you!
