EXCELLENT! This is just the information I was looking for. And you are an exceptionally good teacher; anticipating the questions that one might have, then giving clear explanations. I look forward to seeing your other videos!
Hi there thanks for this video. Can you also play the arranger styles from the keyboard and trigger sounds/plugins within Cubase live? Or do you need to transfer MIDI file before getting MIDI info in Cubase?
Hi - I really liked your video - Do you have.a video that shows what set ups does one need to to do on the Yamaha PSR SX 900 to make the keyboard and DAW talk. I am not sure I understand the changes one needs to set on the keyboard before I can see digital keyboard in cubase . Additionally if I want to record the individual tracks asa audio tracks in the DAW after importing the midi files - what's the best way to do this such That the clock between the two is the same with no difference ?
Hi. Thanks for the wonderful video.. can we install the keyboards virtual instruments into the DAWs virtual instruments so that we don’t have to connect the keyboard every time to listen and edit our song ? What’s the solution ?
Thanks very much - your videos are really helpful - I would like to have your input on another query - once I edit my Yamaha created midi song in Cubase like you did in the video- how do I then convert to audio wav file in Cubase for further mixing and adding vocals to create a backing track ? Additionally how do you save the edited midi file to play back on Yamaha ?
Hey. Try whole playlist and if you need something specified just write a comment I will put a link or create a video about it. ru-vid.com/group/PLlMRSGuMikFoV5zBvblwSS034C0dZMd6V
Hi thank you for this good informational video. Is that possible edit midi file from yamaha keyboard put on DAW software . You know to put effects and some touch up
Hey Thanks for the video, can you pls tell, how can i bypass the procees of recording first in keyboard and copying to drive and then to DAW for further edits and recordings....rather then directly record all channels to the daw. is it possible ?
Hi. I have followed these steps exporting to Ableton but all the track only import grouped into one midi track. How can I export from the keyboard to multiple tracks (as opposed to one) as shown with Cubase in this vid? Cheers
If you saved MIDI song properly (if they have different instruments thery have to be on separated channel), it should be easy: Import MIDI File: Drag and drop the MIDI file into Ableton Live's Browser . Ableton will automatically create a new MIDI track for each channel in the MIDI file1 If Ableton doesn't automatically separate the channels, you can manually create new tracks and copy the MIDI data from one track to another
Very nice video 👍 One request.. Can u plz make a video on hw can we create/design multipads and styles in a daw and import them back to keyboard. Love from India ❤️
Hey, If you want to address Style Voices directly from DAW (using MIDI) , check this out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FWp3KM33NQM.html For creating your own voices (from WAV files) check this out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2LUJjnI0HZ8.html
Hi, greart videos. I am using the Yamaha psr S975 and a Mac with Logic, connected via USB cable. I would love to have your help to fix some problems I am not capable of fixing by myself. Thanks in advance if you can help! Some operations I am not capable of making succesfully (some embarrassing basic): 1- Sync the Yamaha with the Logic DOW, so starting one starts authomatically the other. I am trying to make Yamaha master (Clock internal, transmit clock on) and Logic (clock to destination Digital Keyboard Port 1) 2- I have tried the inverse, making Logic the master, (Digital Keyboard port , clock checked, ) and Yamaha as slave (Clock MIDI, Start stop Styles, Transmit clock no, etc.). Con nor make it work! What is the right way to get something so simple as syncing two basic midi devices? Thanks so much, I am pretty much a beginner. Antonio (Spain)
@@BBWalkerTV mine is an old psr 1000 not an s psr or sx psr so how can i transmit separate tracks in a style to a daw i want to send these tracks as midi ?
Hello - I know I’m late to the party . I use external midi instruments : guitars , ewi 4000 , Yamaha yds 150 . I got past the hurdle of getting to PSR 900 recording from my midi instruments but how can I add and edit my midis on this work station . Not much info on how to do that . Also quantization is an issue that I have not figured out yet . Mainly though , I am trying to build my music in layers and appending a midi at the workstation seems like it should be do able .
Hello Fraiyia. Basicaly you can make build on PC or on the instrument. Both options has pros and cons. Quantize on PSR - check this. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DQjSL5zSNbA.html Let me know if you want to use PC (DAW software) or use Hardware DAW (Yamaha or Roland) I will prepare some new series.
Please also make video about detail explanation for yamaha psr s975 midi clock sync, DAW and yamaha start and stop function sync. it will make life easy. instead of recording whole song accompaniment and counting BARS and remembering each and every details about bridges, fill ins, interludes and much more, one will be able to record the song using just DAW but using Yamaha PSR s975 keyboard and its sound. also later on can easily MAP recorded sounds to other VSTs. You are the best person to explain all this. Also is it possible to MAP yamaha function buttons to DAW.
Sure - very good topic for new videos. Someone else also asked about start DAW using Yamaha as master controller and Ableton live, so I will try do do my best.
using clock sync you can also fix untimed chords and fillins since you will be using DAW as a step recorder and even punch in method. I am using Studio one 5 professional.
Can we make styles with midi mapping.for example I'm connecting my Yamaha keyboard with midi to other devices like a octapad or vst. Drum channel wants to go through in octopad or that vst
Basically yes. You need a DAW like Ableton or FL Studio to do this. Please check this video where I am explaining MIDI mapping of Style: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FWp3KM33NQM.html
Excelent video! Could you please tell me if I can use your video to Yamaha Genos? I bought one last week and very Interested in using MIDI files and Cubase to explore better final quality of song recording. Thanks a lot. I am Daniel from Uruguay✊
@@BBWalkerTV Thanks for your Quick answer. Do you offer classes on uses of DAW , PC keyboard interboard integration, Keyboard Midi production and these kind of stuff. I am really interested tô get knowledge theoretical básics and practice to use my Genos. Regards from Brazil. Iam uruguayan but living in Brasil. Thanks a Lot!! You are and excelent teacher. I Just suscribed your You tube channel
@@danielrotulo8617 Great to hear from you. I do not offer private classes so far but if you have a question or general topic to explore - don't hesitate to write comments. I always save suggestion from viewers to my notebook and if a topic shows once or twice I definitely go for it and create a video. Regards. I recommend to watch this video next: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zjyxgW46c44.html maybe you will find there some inspirations.
Thanks very helpufl! How about drum mapping? I am using Studio drummer, abey road drums from Native instruments bu I cant get played normaly back on daw using a Yamaha Styles! Could you help me to solve that problem!?
@@BBWalkerTV Hi Walker! I am working with Studio One 5 profesional, but I cant figure out, how to map this drums to that Daw, because, there are not that kind functions which are in FL studio
Of course yes. You need to set in DAW channel output to Yamaha MIDI device. Here is the example of FL Studio but it will work at any DAW like Cubase, ProLogic etc: Cubase example: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fRh3Vwk9ztc.html FL Studio example: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7hI9B8sUxGQ.html for more advanced MIDI mapping check this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FWp3KM33NQM.html
No. You need Yamaha software , generic DAW can not create or edit Yamaha styles or voice packs. Please stay tuned to channel. I am planning new series of YEM and editing own voice / patches to every PSR / SX series. With DAW you can addres MIDI commands to access style voice just like presented in this video but you can not create "standalone" style file
This is all about MIDI, if you want to grab audio only - you can attach it into DAW, I recommend watch this video - quite long but I explain there different approaches to recording: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zjyxgW46c44.html
