I share the most important thing to know when working with directional fabric from your stash and how best to feature them in your quilting projects! All Fabric Cafe videos are a treat, especially with images, but Fabric Matchmaker are my favorite of all - I love the stories plus I learn so much and like to challenge myself to guess what patterns and fabrics Fran will pick! Someday I hope the fabric I sent in will be featured! 😊

Hello Fran, congratulations on 20 episodes. I love seeing all the quilts that everyone made from you matchmaking their swatches. Great advice on directional print fabrics, and the patterns to be used to make those fabrics work. I'm saving this video for future information. Because I have a few directional prints in my arsenal of fabric. That I'm sure could use this future information to be helpful. I enjoy watching Matchmaker as I do all of your videos. And look forward to watching more.

I always look forward to the two videos each week and am bereft when they end! It's like coming to the end of a good book 😊Every Wednesday and Friday morning here in Australia is video time! I always learn so much and often am surprised at how well the images turn out. The colours are frequently not what I'd choose but they always come together so beautifully. Matchmaker is such a good idea and it's so good to see what others have made on your recommendations. Fabulous work as always and the Lucy story was so poignant 😊

Oops, hit the send button to soon! As I said before, love your matching tutorials. I am about to start a quilt for my hubby and he chose the bold blocks pattern. Two of your viewers sent in photos of the bold block pattern and this will help me pick my number 2 fabric! Also loved the fabrics you chose for the Valour pattern. Did you notice that the second block looks like a wrapped gift with a bow on top, viewed top down? Opens up lots of possibilities… ❤❤❤

I love watching your videos. Congratulations on your 20th video of Matchmaker!!! I think the Valor pattern would be spectacular In Christmas or birthday fabrics. The segmented squares look like presents wrapped with a bow! Please make a chariot birthday quilt using this pattern. I think your customers would love to see it done!

I absolutely love this series of videos! The inspiration is tremendous. But I especially want to thank you for sharing the stories! It is beautiful how quilters come from all walks of life; sometimes I forget that! Lucy and her dog-mom's story was simply beautiful and will bring a smile to my face each time I think about Lucy's sweet face.

On the quilt with the frogs, if there is enough I would fussy cut the frogs for the little blocks!

Thanks, Fran! It was a fun and informative show tonight! You always do a great job on your fabric choices and the patterns. Question: On the quilt with the golden retrievers on black and the words on black…would it work to swap places with 2 and 3? I think it would look good to have the lighter fabric in between the two blacks. Would that work? Just thinking!?!?

Thank you so much for this video, Fran. Is the Favourite Things pattern available as a single pattern? I've got the exact same fabric (both the light and dark Christmas fabric) as your quilt and am reluctant to cut them up. This will be the perfect pattern for the quilt.

The golden retriever was the second pattern she did.... first was the roses, second was the children retriever, and third was the Japanese fabric..... so not sure what you mean by second pattern....
