Finally found this video that actually explains in direct simple terms what to do and why to do it. Every aspect wasn't explained but at least enough to get you set up. Thanks!
Thanks for making this. I was wondering how all of this worked, and just made my purchase. Wasn't thinking about GT7 back in the day when I bought my Clubsport 2.5 and would rather give this a go instead of replacing the wheel base.
Can you use a wired PS5 or wired PS4 controller if, on your PS5, you go to "Settings" --> "System" --> "Power Saving" --> "Set Time Until Controller Turns Off" and set the time to "Don't Turn Off"? The reason it might stop working after 10 minutes could be because the controller turns off because of this setting. Thanks.
Hey. Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately the Simucube 2 doesn't seem to work with this exact setup. As far as I know, you need a "Gimx adapter" as well. But I don't exactly know how that setup works then. I THINK Dan Suzuki made a guide on how to make the SC2 work with the PS5.
As far as my experience goes, you loose a lot of FFB and have strong oscillations you cannot erase with the software setup. Your base and wheel will not be recognized as what they are. For example, the GT DD Pro will be recognized as a G29, so GT7 will send 2nm signals to a 8nm wheelbase - I assume the same will be true for the DD1, I have yet to test that.
the reason why to have the Hori Controller is, that it has an playstation licence chip onboard, because its an 3rd party item. newer fanatec wheels, which are playstation compatible have that chip. my older fanatec porsche 911 turbo s doesnt have that, so i have to get me an Hori ;-)
I'm confused as to why the pedals need plugged into the drive hub? Don't the pedals an shifter plug into the base then only the base needs plugged into the drive hub?
Because the pedal is not compatible with the wheelbase, so it will not recognize the pedals. However, the way to make it work is to connect everything separately.
I think my T3PA pedals are connected to my T500RS so that leaves 2 usb that I have to plug in since I also have the TH8 shifter. No need another usb for pedals.
HI! and congratulations for the video. Do you happen to know if it works with all types of steering wheels and pedals? Specifically, I have a Driving Force GT, which I use on PS5 just like you showed in the video. Do you think it could use the pedals of a Logitech g29 for example? Tnx
hey do you know if the drive hub would allow my disabled brother play shooting games like cod with a controller and foot pedals? and map the foot pedals to circle or x for slide and jump?
Supposedly the PS5 doesnt support dualshock 4 in usb mode, so even tho you have it connected with a cable to the drivehub, the DS4 will think its working in bluetooth mode, so it will auto turn off after 10mins of no use. That way you have to use a wired controller, either Horipad mini or Nacon wired compact works well. When you connect something to the drivehub, it will emulate it at something else, so you have to follow their instructions to see how they ask you to connect them, they have updated things a bit, my TS-PC emulated as a T300 but now it does as a T-GT wich should have a more similar FFB to mine, but in game it feels almost the same, only the button layout changed, wich they dont provide so you have to guess at first.
I realize that I'm a year late but hoping you will be able to answer a few questions about ps5 compatibility. I have ts-pc wheel and t3pa pro pedals. The pedals use an Ethernet looking connection that plugs into the steering base. I'm wondering if this connection will work the same or do the pedals need an rj adapter to plug into the drivehub via usb? I also have an Astro C40tr controller that is 3rd party ps4 wired/wireless and am wondering if it will work instead of hori when plugged into drivehub?
Greetings. Yeah, you can plug the pedals to the base and it will work, i had mine with TLCM that way. Also if you have a shifter or your pedals were usb and/or handbrake, you can connect a simple usb hub to the accesory port and they will work. For the controller i cant really say, it needs to be licenced by PS so it has the authentification chip, but since you already have it you can just try it. For the controllers mentioned, you can try to get an used one too, since its wont have much use.
Thanks for the Video. The Hori can work in Wireless/Wired mode , in PS4/PC-Mode. The Trustmaster T80 can work in PS3/PS4 Mode. My drivehub (actual Firmware) doesn't work (no 0, just red moving search something) . Whats the problem with the PS5?
drivehub + hori mini + g920 used to work initially when gt7 came out, i havnt played the game for a long time and now i cant get it to work anymore, drivehub detects the wheel, g920 blinks white light, it works on pc, but wont calibrate on ps5, tried several fw and still no go
@@osamahanged actually got it to work, it was a stupid mistake... forgot power extension switch was off for the wheel. as long as u have the license 3rd party controller you'll be fine
@Alex Tsai have you tried using a regular official wireless dualshock 4 but connected with a USB cable to the hub and setting the PS5 to use USB mode for controllers? I don't want to have to buy a 3rd party controller. Amazon is selling them for $40 and it won't ship til like 2 weeks from now...
@@osamahanged I have the same question. I read on a couple forums that the ds4 works if connected with a wire and with Bluetooth turned off. Anybody else help. I also just ordered a drivehub today. Those Hori controllers have gone up in price.
@salvatore posillico I have gone two weeks playing with the drivehub, and have tried turning off Bluetooth and connecting a DS4 with a USB cable to the hub. It works for 8 minutes. I timed it. Then you have to disconnect and reconnect the USB cable from the DS4 and it works for another 8 minutes, and so on... so if your race takes longer than 8 minutes, you're shit out of luck. Game doesn't even pause, your car just slams into the wall. You NEED that Hori controller. I've ordered one for $53 on Amazon. Expensive af but it's cheaper than buying a new wheel.
Perfect explanation! I have a Razer Raion wired ps4 controller. Should be licensed. Do you think it would work instead of the Hori? I wan to use my Thrustmaster TX with Gran Turismo 7 on ps5.
So your PS DD1 wheelbase does NOT work plugged in the PS5, like with running Fanatec V3 pedals? Did you do this conversion because of your need to run Heusinkveld pedals? But the pedals do not run on the drivehub alone, and the wheelbase connected to the Playstation? Thanks for the informing video.
My DD1 works plugged into the PS5 because I have the DD1 PS4 version. And no, I can't run the pedals through the drivehub and the wheel through console because then you technically have 2 controllers. They both work (steering and pedals separately), but since you technically use two controllers, you can't do both simultaneously. The game can't handle it. That's why I need to go through the drivehub with the wheel. You'd need this setup for the V3 pedals anyways, since they're not naturally supported by the PS5.
@@smoodyracing I have the DD1 PS4 unit same as you, thats why I asked. Thanks for clearing that up as I wanted to run the wheelbase to console and better pedals through Drivehub. Shame it does not work, so I will rather soup up my V3’s and keep it connected to console. Thanks.
Sorry I still did not catch it one thing about fanatec wheel base. Does it mean here are exist from fanatec 2 type wheel base of DD1? ''Podium wheel base DD1'' - compatible with PC and Xbox and ''Podium wheel base DD1 PS4'' - compatible with all platform. But problem is the ''Podium wheel base DD1 PS4'' is not more available on the Fanatec webside. Does it mean I can not buy new DD1 for PS5 ? Or does it mean I can use for PS5 only ''Podium wheel base DD1'' with Collective Minds Drive Hub. Thank You very much. I understand here is need to buy the Drive Hub because not compatible pedals.
hello ! i have installed drivehud and momo racing force (the black version, not the red, for the moment) and drivehub ligh isnt on zero "o" but turn in circle but i can drive with the wheel in games ! with ps5 ! is it normal ? should it be to "o" always ?!?
Good day gentelmans... Can you answer me can i connect Drivehub with PC Fanatec base and steering wheel with Thrustmaster Tlcm pedals and Th8a shifter and playing on Playstation 5 and XBox Series X? Thank you...
The Drivehub site lists the T-LCM pedals and TH8A shifter so it should work. One question though: Are you able to plug your pedals into your wheel base? If not, you will not be able to use the shifter. If you can plug the pedals into your wheel base, you can connect the wheel/pedals to the wheel/controller and your shifter to Accessory. But if you have standalone pedals like I do, you have to plug the pedals into Accessory and therefore can't use a shifter anymore.
Do you need the HORI Controller or will this work also Wirth a PS4 Controller? I tried it with the PS5 Controller and it doesn`t work. The Drivehub recognize the CSL 1.1 but i cant control the PS5.
You need the HORI for it to work without any issues. The whole setup works with a PS4 controller but it will shut off after about 10 minutes. I don't know why exactly, but it has something to do with Sonys software/hardware licensing. I think with a PS4 controller the PS realizes that 3rd party software (the Drivehub) is in use and shuts off. It does the same with the Hori but realizes it's a licensed product so it doesn't do anything and the Drivehub continues to work.
I'm on the CSL DD with a PS4. It seems to disconnect on idle. What do you think the problem is. So my setup is: PS4 CSL DD Heusinkveld Sprints Drivehub (using a PS4 controller)
you really didnt even watched the video right? dualshock 4 has that problem, since divehub is not officially supported on ps5, so you need a wired controller, horipad mini or nacon wired compact
Do you think Playstation will ban this drive hub for online? They are the same company that makes the cheat hub for FPS games and Fortnite + COD players have been banned. Im just hoping if I use this Drive hub online on GT7 that I wont get banned
Depends on what wheel. I put the list of officially supported wheels (by Drivehub) in the description. Those wheels will work with Drivehub. If you have something more high-end like a Simucube, you'll need additional adapters.
@@smoodyracing Actually I have a unlisted Wheel a Madcatz Pro Racing Wheel for the Xbox one. I really want to give that wheel new life instead of just selling it
@@OpticalHaze Would love to help you with that but unfortunately I have no idea if that one would work with Drivehub or not =/ I ASSUME all unlisted wheels won't naturally work with this solution.
For some wheels yes. I tested an old Logitech Momo Force wheel from 2001 with the drivehub and I could steer/shift, use pedals and had some buttons work. For my Simagic M10 I have to go through a GIMX cable first. Literally everything will work if you combine a GIMX cable + drivehub. GIMX fools the drivehub into thinking you are using a Logitech G29 and you can map any USB device that is plugged into the computer. Button Boxes, pedals, shifters even keyboard key presses. Whatever you like you can map as a button or axis.
Thats what i want to know too! I got a DD1 and the fanatec shifter+ handbrake and want to add the Heusinkveld pedals to play on the ps5. But i ain't gonna buy the Heusinkveld pedals before i know everything will work.
It’s literally in their website. But it’s fine I’ll do the research for you. The answer is yes. Yes you can, you’ll need to connect a usb hub to the accessories plug though.
Does anyone know if this would work with the GT DD Pro bundle in combination with Heusinkveld Sprints specifically for GT7 on PS5? Will any of their functionality be lost in any way or form?
Can anyone confirm if a Thrustmaster TMX Pro will work to play Need For Speed: Unbound on the PS5? I received both for Christmas and kinda find that frustrating! 😂
i dont think so, drivehub doesnt have compatibility for rev lights, even tho playstation has a protocol for them that could be easly used, but i guess it would be too much of a hassle to configure every combination to make it work properly. Thats why it includes rev lights on the adapter itself, since it can use the ps4 protocol.
Wish I could find a more specific video like my setup. I've been using my Logitech g920 Xbox whee, pedals ans shifterl on my PS4 Pro to play GT7 for a while now. I just finally updated to PS5 a couple days ago, and I am just now finding out I can no longer use this drivehub the same exact way???? WTH? I updated the firmware thinking that it might have some kind of update that allows me to use the exact setup, but I guess not. So what, I need this Hori controller and that'll instantly fix my issue?
You need the hori mini or nacon compact controller those are the only 2 controllers I've seen that worked I've used an old skool controller and hori turbo and neither of them work so I'm guessing it's the controllers
Actually, I just thought about it. Do the CSL pedals have a USB plug that you can plug into the Drivehub? Then it'll work. If it needs to be connected to a Fanatec base I'm not sure how to work around that as I don't own Fanatec pedals myself.
I'm using this setup on the PS5 for GT7. It's not 100% flawless at least with the Fanatec DD1, as I have to use it in Fanalogic mode which emulates a Logitech G25/G27. So the FFB isn't as good as usual and I get some oscillation on the straights. It's mild though so it isn't something that annoys me. Other than that it's fine. Pedals work, game works and runs smooth, all buttons work.
The PS5 controller is designed so it shuts off after a couple minutes. 15 minutes or so I believe. So the setup will always stop working after those 15 minutes. That doesn't happen with a 3rd party controller.
Can I just say, you probably need that gamepad because your pedals arent for PS5. For instance my T GT 2 and Clubsport V3 pedals should work fine without the gamepad because both are compatible with PS5
the controller is needed so the drivehub can bypass some initial checks, then everything connected will be emulated as something else, it still supports and will emulate as itself if its compatible.
I hate drivehub it reduces so much detail and force in ffb. Always best to have direct connection from base to console or you can just play pc. Otherwise dont use this lol
@@smoodyracingwhat? An entire console setup? You can use them all on pc also. Its a bonus a perk it isn't a forced thing where oh its only for console. Again hate drivehub its what makes console sim racing be said to feel not as good. Then everyone goes ahh console sucks with ffb when it doesn't. I use pc and console. Even acc now has 400hz ffb on ps5. Same as on pc.
@@reviewforthetube6485 Problem is that if you want a full console/PC setup you're bound to Fanatec, Logitech or Thrustmaster which are fine but just not as good as the stuff you can get on PC. Heusinkveld, Simucube, Asetek etc. Drivehub is not supposed to be a permanent solution. It's for hardcore PC sim racers that want to try GT7 without buying entirely new setups.
@smoodyracing also not true lol many adapters now amd ways to use other wheels with conpanies especially fanatec. Leoxz now makes a qr2 that works and you can use sim magic and others. You can use leoxz in general and more.
