See…. This is just simply amazing to me… long distance shooting has always had my attention! Here in west virginia, ill never have a shot of 700 yards… heck, its hard to have a 300 yard shot, but learning the ins and outs of a rifle scope, how to use it to my advantage. In a situation where i can use this training. Would be absolutely amazing. I dont know much about “dope the scope” i learn more hands on then anything! Even just the idea of maybe winning this year’s package. Gives me more excitement then ever! Awesome video!

Excellent video. That is just what I wanted to learn. I would like to have had you talk a bit more about what you did at the 3:40 mark when you ran out of MOA on your reticle, though it sounds like your reticle markings are X2 at the half power mark...never knew that. Also, what cartridge are you using? Kind of looks like 6.5 PRC. Thank you.

Glad you liked the video. The reticle view is a product called FTS (Film Through Scope) from Tactacam and the spotting scope view is from the same company with a product called LR (Long Range) which attaches to your spotting scope. We utilize them both for teaching in our long range classes.

I’m sold on the scope, but can’t decide between the 4-16 & 6-24. Without using one , have the assumption that the 4-16 will be offer better clarity (I could be wrong)
@OutdoorSolutions
@OutdoorSolutions 3 года назад
Great question. 100% you could use just the reticle or combination of both, just a personal choice. Depends on its use as to which one to go with. If mostly hunting, would go with the 4-16 for sure (that's what we use) if reaching out on the range to extended distances go with the 6-24. You can call our office and we can help you out. We can also help you with your optic purchase if you need some pointers.

Thanks Mark. Steve does a great job explaining how a reticle system works. We use and recommend Ballistic ARC, also called Geo Ballistics. It is very intuitive and easy to use. There is a free version that is somewhat limited and a paid version $15 one time charge. (They are not a paid sponsor, we just really like their product.

Hi! Great video. My question is by going to half Magnification you get double digets for your dope does this apply on 2nd focal plane or also on ffp
@OutdoorSolutions
@OutdoorSolutions 2 года назад
Great question. This applies to SFP only. This is one of the advantages of FFP, you're sub tensions always remain the same. We actually have a video coming out on this next week.

may I ask so when I zero my rifles , Should I zero with the scope on max magnification.
@OutdoorSolutions
@OutdoorSolutions 2 года назад
Great question. It’s a matter of preference, since you are only using your center crosshairs for zeroing, magnification does not matter. Personally, this is really the only time I use max magnification, so I can see my impacts. Hope this helps.
