Nice and concise... that should allow anyone interested to quickly get on a DMR talk group. And if they don't already know, you can also get on YSF and FCS reflectors. The piStar, with all its modes, allows you to communicate with other hams worldwide regardless of propagation conditions.
The only way to connect to a TG with more than five digits is to change your default TG on your PiStar configuration. Until Yaesu drops a firmware update (doubtful) that will allow more than five digits, that's the only route.
I push x and flashes and does not with a solid x and it goes back to non x. I have set all the settings in my hotspot just as you have and do connect and see people talking but can not get the x-wire working. Because I am in the boonies with no wires-x repeater am I cutout form wires x with out spending a fortune to extra radio equipment?
I have tried every thing you said but my ft-991a won't setup to YSG-wires x. Are their any settings on the ft-991a menu settings that will stop it connecting. No local repeaters with YSF-wires x. My pi-star setting are all the same with adjustments for me. Maybe out of the box ft-991a does not have all the menu settings correct. I have been trying now for 3 days with 16 hour days and no luck. Does being away from a major city mean no YSF?
If you only want to use the Yaesu for Fusion and only want to use the DMR for DMR, that's fine 'n dandy. If you turn on crossmode like YSF2DMR, it gets a little confused when you try to use a DMR radio.
I don't know for sure, but it seems every time I get the error, once I finally get in, someone is talking. It might have a hard time connecting if the talk group is in use 🤷♂️
I have the yaesu ft-5d and it use to be when I connected to a talk group I would hear the conversation right away but I would not hear the other station unless I keyed up the radio once. something changed because when I join a talk group when someone is talking in that group I have to key the radio to hear activity but I will not hear anything until the station that is talking stops and the other station keys up then I can hear all activity on that group. have you run into this?

Question when you key up to the talk group if someone is currently talking do you hear that person or do you have to wait for the next person to keyup before you hear anything because this is what happens to me how I can tell is I monitor the group with hoseline so I know someone is talking even though I cant hear them until the next station keys up
