How to Validate Your Partner 

Validation has a place for sure...... yet as one commenter said: how do you validate lies, nonsense, crap? Not so easy.....

Thank you so much. all of this is gold to me. I find it hard to let my wife know that I care. I kind of say the wrong words... She told me recently. "don´t try to solve my problems. I just want you to listen. I just want to get them out of my chest" ...That was a huge realization to me. Never did I thought that "that is why" she tells me those things. [My mind set was... -she comes to me with a problem, I needto help her solve that problem as best as I can.] ...But she is a big girl now... she can handle it. she just needs to blo up some steam. ...I´ll save this video for later. I need my couch, a notebook and a cup of coffee.

7:50 how can we handle, as the listener, when our partner reacts to attempts to name their emotional state with hostility and defensiveness, instead of opening up further? I've experienced this with two people now since starting work with Nonviolent communication and it's thrown a brick wall in the conversation and causes me to feel worse than before. I am told i'm trying to tell them how they feel, even though I use I feel statements and keep an open mind.

So What if the person is a liar and likes to twist the truth should I just agree with their delusions and lies? Sometimes my partner likes to twist the truth . How to deal with this? Thanks for the information!
