You're not kidding about trying to keep your arm out from under the vinyl. My first attempt at wrapping the roof of my BRZ ended with several arm hairs underneath. 😳
Thanks man was planning on doing my hood and trunk after watching your videos I have a pretty good idea how to do it best videos on here on wrapping cars Thank you so much
I watch all the vids you post and I think you do one hell of a job by yourself wrapping those vehicles . I don't know why people would say it's not clean or find something wrong
THESE ARE SO HELPFUL i have a 04 crossfire that im going to attempt to chrome wrap by myself as soon as i fix the paint with rattle cans so i have been watching alot of rattle can painting and wrapping -- im so greatful for all these videos i love my car but i got it kind of cheap because of problems -- one was paint -- wish me luck i just got done wet sanding my car in the rain -- it worked out pretty good -- thanks again pix
Looks good to me, its refreshing to see someone who cares enough to do a good job. Dumb question, can you paint over a wrap, like stripes or airbrushing.
Love the vids! How long will the wrap last being wrapped this way? I'm sure this is your own car and you plan on re-wrapping it before it fails due to too much tension/overstretching? I see a lot of commercial wraps using mold and hold to make two pieces so they can provide a 3 year warranty, it looks tacky though imo.
Envelopados Nt esse cara foi o único que encontrei no RU-vid que mostra como envelopar um porta malas de carro sedan passo a passo. Sensacional sem palavras parabéns para esse cara.
I have watched your video 10 times and when I wrapped the trunk on a genesis coupe with vivid carbon Fibre gloss I could not get it to go on without too much material bunching up so I had to do it in 2 pieces . Very frustrating I ca say
You should test some on plasticote if you can't get an answer, just plasticote something random. Yes, a hairdryer will work, just manage how much time you focus the heat.
Hey, how much do you purposely cut and leave yourself when you wrap each panel? How many inches more would you have To give you enough room to work and stretch? For a Rookie newbie like me who just wants to do my own car and have fun with it. Also you should do some videos on joining wraps, and how you would stretch and apply two joints for a seamless look, so later when it shrinks a little it won't have the gap.
32:28 Right there is what we call "fingering', get your mind out of the gutter. Basically, the vinyl tenses up from all the stretching and heating over a corner and instead of pulling it straight down like you did, I would suggest the World Wrap Master's strategy of using triangles to your advantage. So, instead of pulling down, you pull once to the left, once to the right, and at this point left and right are glass and the middle has some wrinkles. Pull the middle vertically down so that it tucks the edge, and boom! You just tuck the corners in neatly without it having the chance to come off which is common when the vinyl becomes fingered. Also, anytime you don't have to use a heatgun and can do it cold-stretch, that's always a plus as the stretch and distortion will be virtually non-existent with the triangle method vs using a heat gun to try and get that little bit more of stretch. Really good video CK as always, but I thought I'd just share this tip as it makes a load of difference whether you're doing vinyl, xpel, ppv, etc.
+Doodlebob thank you, you're absolutely right. I ran into the issue of not having enough film by the time I reached the bottom. Normally I use triangles but in this situation I was stuck with too much excess film in the middle and not enough to come past the edge. Since this video the trunk is still holding well, used a good post heat on it but I would've liked to have demonstrated this differently
CK Wraps depends on the thicknesd on thr vinyl, correct? and is it possible for you to do a tutotial on a sharkfin antenna and more videos on where you mignt need to do multiple pieces on a pannel or part? your videos are extremely helpful and well done
Bro u the best I just did my hood and it was small and simple and I caught hell it came out ok thanks to u i studied ur videos lol anyway keep up the good work
+Asseeb Osmm it won't damage the film by letting it drop onto it. It'll only damage the film if it's left on for too long. If you forget to remove the magnet it will leave an impression in the film which doesn't always come out
I have a Tacoma I want to attempt to wrap, but there is no body lines between the roof and quarters how do you determine where to join two pieces of vinyl?
Somebody rear ended the car behind me who rear ended me and my car was a right off....the only item that wasn't really touched was the vinyl wrap that CK Wraps did. It held up so well...too bad the car didn't.
@@CKWraps thanks for the response . I’m tackling mine now. Do you remember if you did inlays on the front bumper or 1 piece it all? Same with trunk lid. Learned a lot from your videos. I have wrapped here and there but not a vehicle yet.
coreyshirley100 I know he posted a video on that stuff a bit ago about how it gets water under it it's only for interior uses I guess go check it out very informative
I was specifically told by my my instructor to not use heat when applying. To only use heat to fix bubbles and wrinkles or to help the vinyl memorize the surface after applied. He said you don't want to risk stretching the vinyl. Was I taught incorrectly?
There is a million ways to install that trunk and it took you way too long to complete. What kind of squeege technique is that? Dude learn how to hold a squeege and push the air out. Wowowowow that’s what my competition looks like y’all crazy for even making videos of u struggling wrapping a trunk LOlOlOL
