It is absolutely breathtaking and totally worth the journey to get there! Have you been to any Mayan Ruins?
I already follow you on Instagram. Thanks. I went to Ek Balam, in Mexico, a few years ago. We went to the top of a couple of the huge structures, and we’re blown away by it! Just amazing! Thanks again for taking us along on your adventures.
I never knew how rich and fascinating Guatemala’s history and landscape was until now. You are not only enjoying your stay in Guatemala but also you are educating your audience. Thanks for the excellent video!

Tikal was the beating heart of the Mayan empire and ruled most of Mesoamerica politically, economically and militarily. By 600 AD it had a sports stadium, a school and a hospital. It also had a library packed with thousands of books. Today only four Mayan books still exist.
Yeah wow guys, Tikal looks amazing and so does the Jungle lodge. We will need to go there. Also those crazy loud noises at night OMG. Brave. Looks like such a cool experience, well captured 😊
Excelente vídeo y gracias por visitar Guatemala. Vídeo para todos los turistas del MUNDO, VENGAN A VISITAR GUATEMALA, CENTRAL AMÉRICA. WELCOME TO GUATEMALA. FELICIDADES CHICOS.
Wow, that place looks cool. I still remember waking up in the Peruvian amazon rainforest to the sounds of hundreds of birds in the jungle, its a amazing place .
You are making me homesick!!❣️ I fell in love with Guatemala 40 years ago, living there for nearly 2 years and me da ganas! When I lived in Flores, we were able to climb the pyramids in Tikal. It's a good thing because I couldn't do it now. But the view from the top of the Gran Jaguar is breath taking! We also climbed Temple 3 and one that was just being uncovered. It was amazing. There is so much to see still, but it's the people I fell in love with most of all! I'm determined to make it back one day. My heart will always be there. 💓 Your backpacks appear to have been discontinued on Amazon. Any recommendations for a replacement?
Oh that’s so amazing!! And too bad the bags aren’t available. We recommend visiting a local outdoors/camping store… they’re usually very helpful for assessing your needs and height, etc to suggest the best bags!
Wow, es increíble no ver gente en Tikal, siempre está lleno, y es precioso, espero lo disfruten. You should go to Yaxhá, it's amazing the sunset there ❤️
Thanks for sharing. Guatemala is so rich, beautiful and unique. Is so rich and beautiful the United Kingdom of Guatemala established since 1609 and that extends from El Soconusco (today Chiapas) to part of Panama. Guatemala is 12th producer of silver in the world and 20th producer of gold besides having massive reserves of nickel, jade and so many other natural resources too bad for almost a century big foreign multinational anglosaxon corporations have been taking almost everything. Long live Juan Santamaria the heroe of Costa Rica who died in battle against the anglo pirates. The Malvinas belong to Argentina, The Esequibo belongs to Venezuela and Belice belongs to Guatemala. Guatemala exploited and sabotaged for almost a century but never gives up. God bless
Interesante comentario.
Welcome to Guatemala amigos! We love tourists. Also, thank you for sharing your beautiful videos and some how showing the world that our country is not as bad as most people think it is. We love you guys!
I’m so excited you went to Tikal. I did the same thing as you. I love howler monkeys… such a beautiful place, sometimes there are no words. I’m close to retirement.. no I’m not a grey haired old fart, I’ve been waiting all my working life to be retired & go wherever I want. Guatemala is a place I will be returning to. Thank you for your insight
We love the Airbnb. How much is the nightly rate. Tikal is beautiful and it's definitely our bucket list destination. A sunrise there is definitely a must. Lovely video❣️
It actually wasn’t an Airbnb. Both places we showed were hotels and we linked them in the description ☺️ The prices depend on the suite/room. They have lots of beautiful options! You definitely need to visit Tikal and do the sunrise tour… you won’t regret it!!
Beautyful journey a lot of respect for you because you show respect fir culture and nature. This video is also not only entertaining but informative 👌, I love ❤️ it, TIKAL is certainly the finest city in the Mayan empire.
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing your experience. I was wondering if you could share some tips and details of how to get around in Guatemala and come in and out Flores, please.
Getting around Guatemala is SUPER easy. You’ll find that almost every hostel/hotel has a list of shuttles and prices for all popular destinations. They will arrange this shuttles for you or you can walk around town to find a shuttle shop.
Just like you guys , I was in such an awe when I visited Tikal. I did not explore the whole park, I have to go back. Enjoy your stay in guate , it has so much to offer to visitors.😃
Amazing video, did you guys take the drone footage? Going in about a month and wondering if I should bring my drone(s). Thanks again for your hard work on the video
Oh my goodness I love the Private house with a hot tub and relaxing home I really love it I’m traveling to Guatemala this December with my family for 1 week and can you send me the link of that home I really love that house with beautiful rainforest.
Hi guys,, l'm glad that You enjoy Tikal. I'm belong to a tribe. Maya-kiche ando l speak "kiche" and l apreciate and thank you for your opinion about the mayan culture. God bless 🙏😇
So great!! Definitely do the tour. You can actually book it directly through Jungle Lodge. If you know you for sure want to do the sunrise tour, you can let them know and you will need to buy your Park ticket at the gates before coming to the hotel. Should be about 100Q + 150Q for the day pass. You need to buy both, but you will want the day pass anyways to spend some time there on your own :) But just let Jungle Lodge know either beforehand, or when you get there.
Excelent video, you both look so happy and that makes me happy too. Tikal is the Disneyland for archelogists. You should go to Yaxha too, I recomend it.
I discovered Tikal playing "Sonic Adventure", you can actually take a walk in the city throughout the game! I was shocked when I found out that Tikal is real, because I thought it was a fictional place that only existed in a video game 😮
It depends how fast you like to travel! You could definitely make it to Tikal in 14 days but it is quite a journey by bus (flying is another option) so expect two full travel days. But it is an INCREDIBLE site to see. It all depends how slow you want to travel :)
What kind of breakfast and food is available at the lodge. Guatemalan food is SO GOOD... What is the temperature like? Is it hot and humid? Great video!!!!
They had a full menu of options! Not all typical Guatemalan food though. The menu is on their website if you want to have a look! The temp was hot and humid for sure! But also very manageable in the shade... but the sun was toasty for sure. haha
HELP, please. Did you have to go back to Coban when you left Lanquin or did you take transportation from Lanquin straight to Flores? Do you have someone that you recommend? What's the name of the transportation that you took and would you do something different? We are going to Semuc and then moving over straight to the Jungle Lodge, but we are worried that it will be super late by the time we get to the Jungle Lodge.
