Unfortunately your body gets used to the 10k steps and you peak rather quickly. 10,000 steps do not benefit you much at all if you don’t actually raise your heart rate. The stairs and crazy area to walk/run mentioned in the beginning of the video is what you need to elevate your heart rate and actually get benefits from your walk. This is unfortunately, good intentions with bad advice. Also. If it was easy to just do 10,000 steps a day and be healthy. America wouldn’t be so fat. Gotta get that heart pumping and get that heart rate up and maintained through the workout or you’re not doing much for your body.
10.000 a day is still way better than 2.000 a day. :) If your daily average is 2.000 steps, exercising will feel overwhelming and unrealistic, because your body will be very weakened. If you get used to 10.000 steps, your body will be physically stronger. And it might become more natural for you to replace some of your walking time with running time, or other exercises. Or you might start walking faster, thereby still getting your heart rate up.
