I agree there are times in very high heels that you must focus your balance as if on tip toe on the ball of your foot. But in standing and walking wouldn't one want to use a natural step? That is: heel to toe? Dogs are "digitigrade". They walk on their toe tips and 'fingers'. (Which is the position that high heels puts our human foot into). Humans are "plantigrade". We walk on the flat of our foot, in a heel to toe manner., the heel of our forward stepping foot touches the ground ahead of us as we shift our other foot off the heel and onto the toe. Meanwhile the front foot is immediately going to equal weight across the whole foot, as we begin to now move the other foot to the forward step. I'm thinking we should still do this in heels. Although it will be less noticable because of the digitigrade posture the shoe forces our foot to maintain. Of course in dance movements and when walking over soft turf or any surface that the tiny shoe heels might get stuck into, we should walk "tip toe" with no weight on the thin high heel. The third type of locomotion for walking is "unguligrade". This is what hoofed animals do. A horse is walking, not on its toes... but on the toe nail of what would have been it's middle toe. (Humans only do this in dance like ballet with our feet bound up inside a toe shoe ballet slippers)
Bet this is the reason why my feet hurt really quickly. Usually I put the weight on the heel which hurts my ankles. Will practice with all the weight on the balls of my feet.
Yeah me too but I considered getting those clear insoles for heels I’m just scared it will slip out my open toe heels or that itll be too thick to where I can’t put my toes in the front strap 😂
Yep, this is on point and I'm a thick man. People always say they hurt more if you're thick or fat or whatever. But the truth is, it hurts because you're resting your weight on your heels and not the ball of your feet and toes. And you're walking in them incorrectly. By moving your weight to the front, it really lifts the pressure off your feet and thus the pain goes down some. You're on point sis. Keep it up!
Im a heavy woman, walking in heels aint easy as im also clumsy but this has helped me so much! I can finally wear those heels that been sitting in my closet and throw away them old lady wedges I've been wearing.
the dog “resting heel” is a perfect description. succinctly summarizes a concept that i’ve learned (in my own heels journey lol) but do find hard to explain to others. really a perfect analogy. an Italian chef is kissing his fingers somewhere in approval
I’m 34 and never wore heels because i didn’t understand how to walk in them. My grandmother bought me some stilettos and I’m going to attempt to walk in them after this video. Thank you for this🌹
but my issue is when I walk heel to toe my ankles click and it’s weird cause like once I master how to get my ankles to quit clicking I’ll walk in heels perfectly fine 🤔
There's an auto generated caption on the video. I just checked and it's correct, except for the punctuation. If there's a specific language you want me to generate for then pls let me know. But there's an auto generated caption for different languages, you can check it out too.
Hi, yes, when walking with flats, I walk heel to toe. I like to pretend there's an imaginary line in front of each foot, then place one foot in front of the other, but maintaining my imaginary line. I walk heel to toe with flats, yes🥰
