Epic from TRICKset shows u how HE does the wall spin. Hope it helps!! If you know of more ways to break it down, please feel free to leave comments to help people out.
Hey Epic! When I first started freerunning, this was THE FIRST tutorial I came to on youtube, and it was the first trick I nailed. So I just wanted to come back and say a MASSIVE THANKS, I'm loving where I'm at today! You break down your tutorials perfectly and your positive attitude is always a great inspiration to continue pushing forward! Keep up the fantastic work, you da man!
Dude! You're awesome! I finally learned it after a week of training! Now I only need to polish it for me to land with straight legs. Thanks for this tutorial! 5/5
thanks dude i finally got it down thanks to your vid. good tuutorial i have it meorized and wne im not doing it right i just go over your instrutcions in my head again and it works. anyways thannks awsome!!!!
Epic is the man :) Just tried this for the first time this week and this tutorial helped. I posted my first one as a video response its not perfect but its a start!
@MrAnjelorion Yes. Wall spins were the first trick I learned how to do. Find an object like a rail that has an end, and is suitable height for a palm spin. Practice palm spins on the end (so you don't clip your feet on the rail coming out of the rotation) until you feel comfortable getting vertical. Then you can go to a wall spin, or if you have a picnic table nearby, lean it up on a tree and increase the angle as you get more comfortable.
it really helps if you can find a slanted surface and work your way up until its flat also i found that it was easier if you force your head down (almost as if you were going to kiss the ground) this helps you bring your feet :) great vids btw :)
@Epic1 ,the hand that is used to push,is it left or right ,cause im a right handed person..and before you jump to the wall is it like...jump first, hands on the wall, once your on the air,use the upper hand to push to get that circular momentum ,and land it or something like that??
@adnan5404 u keep your lower hand somewhat straight, about waist level. your other hand goes about 1 and a half/two feet higher than the other one (it really just depends on your size) and just push off. i dont know if that helped, because your question didnt make any sense. you dont keep your hand far from the wall or close to it-you just put your hands on the wall
Great vid 5 stars. Also some things that helped learn how to do it was trying to see the ground the whole time. Once you start not seeing the ground you have to turn your body so you start flipping backwards. Also try keeping yoour legs the same distancw away from the wall as your shoulders so that they wont hit the wall. That is what helped me learn. Hope it helps you guys to.
@pntballer4life01 howso? the sideflip gets your body used to going to the side if you are worried about hitting your head.. i think your going to haft to really experiment with it.. you might need to throw yourself into... if you can get a matt or some sort of soft landing.. find ways to progress into it id suggest to maybe slant the board even more..
@pntballer4life01 the best way to train up to it in my opinion is either to get a slanted object like a tree and try it like that and gradually practice... but what really helped me was i nailed the sideflip which made everything easy... because i used the same technique as a sideflip except i had my hands on the wall but i still did the same things i perform while im rotating in the sideflip besides my hands so try that
i'm lefty too and i do wallspin from left, but i don't think that it matters wich hand u use. for example, one of my friends can do wallspin from both sides. it's just about wich side you feel better to do.
Hey Mr. Epic. Can you tell me easy beginner tricks to start with? I can do a frotflip and a tornadokick, dissappointingly failing 540 from the beginning on. I would like to learn new things but dont really know what to start with. Thanks man
@Epic1 hey got any tips for me i only get about half the spin and then stop spinning and im force to push off the walls with my hands to alnd on my feet i normaly am able to fix these things by thinking ti through but cant figure this one out and tips???
Where did you learn to do this stuff? From someone else or did you just teach youself? Also, whats your workout program? Do you just do this for exercise?
How much upper boddy strength would you need to do this? Or is this one of the moves that looks like it needs the upper body, but it's mostly the lower... I only ask this because in terms of strentgh, I don't have much. ^^
Hey Epic and all of you guys..I managed to do the wallspin but not in a completely straight wall...and now i am kinda afraid to do it on a straight one.. Is more difficult or kinda same?
i need help epic1 when i do a wall spin i always land on my knees together -_- on a soft mat please reply, am i not gettin enough height? or am i not tuckin fast enough or what? please HELP!
Sure you can! As long as your practicing in a safe area. Dont limit yourself on the things you want to do because of age, as long as you're in shape you'll be fine.
@pntballer4life01 well that might not be thick enough it sounds like u might b nervous in general of it not being able to support ur weight. maybe find a tree or flip over a picnic table to its side... i used a tree but i have heard of people who have used picnic tables... but if not lean the board at a comftorable angle... really experiment with it. i would stil recomend learning a sideflip so that it brings down the fear of rotating to ur side try that then ask me again if u have any problems
@iDeaTHeoRyi if u doin that trick 1st time u shuld do it against a wall witch is leaned on 1 side (Tree is an option) so u don't fall on ur head :) also if it might help try to put ur hands a bit lower cuz Epic jumps rly high for this trick :)
@Holfus I play a lot of basketball and my jumping ability is the best in my class, i can jump about 1m high. (I can dunk a 2,5m basket.) My muscles are , well not easy to be seen but when you touch it, it's really hard, solid.
If I'd send you a video of my Wall-Spin attempts would you check it out to see what I am doing wrong? Cause after forgetting about my fear, the spin itself wasn't the problem. It's the landing that bothers me. Out of 30-50 attempts I landed maybe twice on my feet. I recorded myself and think, that I let go to early of the one hand and that I fall right away after reaching the peak of my spin, giving me no chance to straight out my feet. Are there some generall tips, you could give me?
my friend the storm teach us this is actually much easier if ur left or right hands palm is in the ground and spin urself up this video is MASTERED wall spin. for starters try doing this ull complete it at two or one day...
@pntballer4life01 well then you know what you haft to work on.. work on the flip and ortation become comftorable with it then try it... when i first tried the wallspin i was intimidated like you but i worked on it doing it on trees... i gave up on it and i eventually worked on the sideflip.. once i had got it down... i retried the wallspin and was actually able to just commit myself in it without hesitation... so thats how i learned it.
@Taylin1000 When people do soccer, football, or baseball for fun with friends, some kids just play with their friends while others play in organized leagues and have coaches. I was wondering if he had a coach or if he just saw someone do a wall spin and tried it himself.
Took me a little while; start with inclined walls and progressively get to straight walls and you'll get it. But train it because it's kind of easy to forget the move.
@KTBeats wall flips are way more scary first time but easy once you get the hang of them, side flips are easy once you can do the 1-2 step perfectly, look at epic's side flip tutorial, i recommend side flip first
@NicksPK I think u should learn a palm spin first, that helped me. then I moved on to a wall and tried a wall spin like: other hand on the ground, other on the wall. Then i just raised the angle a bit at a time until it was 90 degrees :)
@ahmadhaiqal32 if you know how to do a front flip just go up for a front flip but just put your hands on the wall and use them to help spin u and at the peak just begin to turn
