I measure 1 or 2" top and bottom not to waste paper where the extra you waste could be used in another part of the room. Same with wrapping a window and matching, you don't need to over lap all the way to the factory edge. You get paste all over the paper and waste paste and time cleaning it off. Just so you know, I've been hanging for 38 years.

While appreciating your very acceptable result , I found your method overcomplicated and the presentation tedious . Patching around a window reveal is unavoidable, but alternative methods demostrated on RU-vid are far simpler, quicker and just as effective . However , each to their own and due respect for your preference of method.

What is the official name of the tool you used to smooth the wallpaper and is it plastic or metal. I'm thinking if plastic, doesn't the blade cause nicks in the plastic?

How do you wallpaper around the window and radiator together like the radiator under the window

Clearly a pro like myself there a lot of fake decorator's on the net you ain't one of them good job.

What about the overlap on the other side where you matched the pattern? Do you cut a seam there also?

I dont see why you didnt wrap the first piece instead of cutting it and using a new piece??

Hi Spencer, I would make a slight change to your approach, because with my windows it resulted in an expensive mistake. When I made the straight horizontal cut into the corner to allow the paper to be folded into the opening, I found there was a tapered gap between the paper and the face of the opening, which was a quarter inch nearest to the glass. The problem was caused by the upper surface of the window opening not being truly horizontal. After taking the paper down and starting again, I started my horizontal cut one inch above the opening and ending in the corner. This allowed an overlap when I folded the paper around the opening, so I could use my straight edge and knife to make the horizontal cut. Just thought I would share my experience papering around my first window. On my new build I notice they used white sealant to hide the paper edges around the window. It looks tidy. Do you have a video for this? I don't know how you avoid getting the sealant on the paper. You can't use masking tape as it removes the print. I wish I watched your video about cutting around window trim before I started. When I made my cuts around the window seal the weight of the paper loaded with paste caused it to tear because easily. Hopefully, having seen your other video I will improve. Great video!

You really could make life so much easier for yourself... blading the paper across the top of the external angle like you did is the wrong thing to be doing... youl come unstuck one day when the reveal runs out, paper will be short in the corner also theres no need to be sitting so much paper on top of the other when doing the double cut- getting paste all over the paper like that is sloppy and ameuterish.. You could make a good paper hanger- you just need showing a few things by a clean professional.

How would you recommend doing what you're doing with peel and stick? Pray? LOL I'm assuming I cant stick over like you're doing with this one since it's peel and stick but I have a kitchen pass through issue my brain is having a hard time figuring it out.

Perfect! New to your channel so I apologize if you've covered this in another video. I live in the Orlando area and have a 10 year old house. It has the standard light textured walls. I realize this is probably a stupid question but - do I have to sand the walls completely smooth before wallpapering? I'm assuming yes, but just throwing it out there in case you have a better solution.
