Wallpapering around a window or door reveal can be tricky. Here I show you one way you can do it, without the need to splice, over lap and cut through the paper.
The less cuts on the surface the better. Some times there may need to be an overlap cut/splice depending on how the wallpaper falls over or above a window or door.
Try and hide or lose these by doing it where you cant see it or notice it. Behind curtains/drapes is a good place.

Hello Phil, I was a decorator for ten years (1996-2006), then I went off and had a “career” which after 16 years I have had enough of and have decided to go back to my passion. Just started out again. Paste the wall has clearly come on a long way since my first time round because it was truly awful. Difficult to control the saturation. I’m always happy to move with the times and blend the traditional with new ways but have you encountered any issues with the modern PTW papers? And do you use dedicated PTW paste?

Always splice it's not difficult at all, it's just the same principle as matching 2 lengths up but your just doing a double cut. This is an amateurs way patching pieces in.

Not a method I would entertain, FairPlay to you if it works
@TGF120
Watched four minutes, and, man, do you make it unnecessarily difficult for yourself.

Your doing a good job but in my opinion you shouldn't put a but joint above a window like that because all it takes it a slight bit of moisture and it will probably curl up , a double cut when done correctly will not and shouldn't be noticeable at all, I was a painter and decorator for 38 years so I know what I'm talking about, wish you well as you are doing well

I'm part way through a job where I'm papering a bathroom with a heavily patterned floral vinyl paste the wall for the customer, it was spliced around the window previously, so was going to do the same, but you've got me rethinking it now!

Hi. So is this how you always fill in the missing piece around reveals? I’ve seen different decorators do it different ways

You wouldnt always put that end peice in before the other 2 short pieces.if it wasnt paste the wall.paper it could expand more and you get it overlapping when it dries out properly.

That’s fine for you a professional 😊 but a home owner doing their own , it’s miles to complicated to do x
