My mom recently became bedridden and I was looking for ways to wash her hair in bed. So glad I found this video. I can use things I already have rather than buying extra stuff. Can’t wait to try this. Thanks!

Omg I cannot thank you enough for this video. My 95 year old mom moved in with us and I needed a simple way to do her hair and this looks like it will work perfectly.
Thank you so much for sharing this. My mom and I have been a caregiver for several people. I thought the CNA does this when they come to the home, but they don’t. And the lady we care for has mentioned she really would like to wash her hair. This is an amazing idea and can’t wait to do her hair!
Hi, Theresa.I'm so glad I could help you. Please subscribe to my channel and watch out for my book on tips and tools for being a good caregiver.Called caregivers success , it will be coming out soon on amazon. It's being rebranded right now
Thank you so much for this video! My daughter and I were able to wash my elderly mother’s hair in bed. Then gave her a sponge bath and changed her clothes. She really appreciated it! This technique is a keeper. 💖
That is an amazing idea 💡 👏 I'm a CNA, Some time what I do if patient can move ill try to place on the edge of the top of the bed and do the same process, using the bucket and the plastic bag. But sometimes they are patient who doesn't have hospital beds or can't move at all or the back of the bed is to high, you give me a great ideas to share with my patient and coworkers thanks
@jazminbautista9122 I am so glad this makes your job better for caregiving. Stay tuned for my rebranded Caregiver success book filled with ideas like this. It's coming out sometime this summer, and it will be in an ebook or text! ❤️🙏
Thank you so much. My fiancé is in hospital after a motorbike racing accident and I was able to wash his hair tonight. He was so thankful and so am I xx

You are AWESOME! Thank you for this. I have been feeling miserable about how to wash my sistet's hair now that she is really infirm. Hair is HUGE to people and sprays are very unsatisfactory. God bless you for giving me a new way of thinking.
Thank you for sharing! My mother in law is staying with us and is getting more and more bedridden. I was struggling to figure out what to do with her hair. Thank you!!!

my toddler is in a spica cast after hip surgery, and is very scared of water, so i plan on using this method while she's watching a movie for distraction. i've watched a lot of videos and they all tell me things i need to buy, so i l ove this method of using things at home! thank you for the tips!
Hello, and thank you for your video. I'm supporting a friend who has extremely limited movement at the moment. I have washed her hair in bed twice so far. The first time was using an inflatable basin designed for that purpose which my friend found very stressful (and it soaked the bed and floor) The second time I used your method and it worked much better. There was only one problem, which I wondered if you might have a solution for. The weight of my friend's head made the water pool there instead of pouring off into the bucket, I had to soak up the excess water with a small towel a few times. Do you have any suggestions to combat this? The bed was still a little wet but less than the first time and the experience was more enjoyable for my friend.
Hi there!, What I would recommend is that you make a really thick towel towel that is rolled well for under her head so that the head is dangling a little not laying flat on the bed. And if the towels are pretty big all around it actually makes a big pool so that the water has no place to go but toPool and then flow down into the bucket. Try that and let me know how it goes. And thanks for your comment and please subscribe to the channel!🙂
@@caregiversuccessbynancytheNP, Your description of the need to have the patient's head raised a little so the head is not pressing much on the bed really makes sense. I'm reading up on this technique because Mom (almost 98 yrs old) is getting weaker & weaker. For now, she showers independently......but I can tell those days are numbered. My siblings and mom insist she pass at home. I've lived w/mom for 10 yrs now & I can't continue to do what I'm doing alone. I have a shoulder injury & although I'm doing Physical Therapy for now, the pain comes & goes. I'm having an evaluation soon, but even so can't drive a car without stirring up significant pain afterwards. Neither of my siblings admits it, but I'm going to need a lot of assistance going forward, and nobody is volunteering to stay and help. It's going to take two people to do mom's hair washing - I see that right away. Lifting mom's head, etc., isn't possible for me now. Thank you for this video!
@@caregiversuccessbynancytheNP I live in the Bay Area, California. I can’t wait for more of your tips.. it’s been hard for me to take on all of this by myself but I know I can do it with good tips like yours.
