Hello, recently I have started using microfiber cloths after watching your videos and its really impressive 👏 Now I am maintaining kitchen and bathroom in a better way. I have few questions 1. Every time we use the clothes should we put it for laundry? Especially the ones which we use for kitchen counter and bathroom tubs? 2. How to store used Microfiber cloths until put them for laundry? If it is wet after using in bath tub is it good practice to hang them in bathroom until they get dry and wash them together later?

Nothing beata the swedish wash cloths id you ask me. They absorb water like a literal sponge and they are easy to store as well.

I never thought of the different colored cloths for different types of cleaning -- DUH... makes perfect sense! Soooooooo how many cloths does an average household need? Where do you store them all?

I just got the home cleaning bundle and am wondering if you would advise or not advise to clean all the different types of cloths at once? Some say it's ideal to separate them into types but that's less practical in non-commercial home settings ...

So excited for my Maker’s microfiber cloths to arrive! I’m going to use mine almost exclusively in the kitchen because I have little kids and hardwood floors and messes everywhere. We use so many paper towels. Not anymore, I’ve got a cloth for each day of the week!

I just messed up, Im doing laundry and just put my huge towel, a lap blanket, a few face towels, wash cloths & about 15 micro clothes of every type. Its only me & my son, not much laundry and we don't have washer \ dryer. I use parks laundry mat. I just tossed in All of what I jus wrote, so my micro towels are ruined? There's not enough for full load and our machines don't have small cycle. I've done this before and had to pick off lint for an hour off micro towels, then hung dried. We're so used to sterilizing things in life pre-covid and now, like cleaning cloths, washcloths dish towels etc. we use hot water as common sense. I wash my microfiber cloths separately in warm water or cold water depending on how bad they are. But I really really love Melissa your cloths. I really really do I think they're the best I've ever used I have mine ones I buy from Walmart but still yours is really good and I love the video thank you as always ❤️🙂

Everything comes out of your wash machine should be clean, that's what wash machine is designed to do. If your laundry cross contaminate in your wash machine, I would say the problem is your wash machine being too dirty. You must clean your wash machine regularly so it could do the job right!

I dont hear ANYONE mention this, but the BEST prewash cleaning you can give the microfibers is to take them outside, place them on a flat clean plastic tub on the outside, grab a tight hold of the towel on the plastic and use a strong nozzle on a garden hose and BLAST out all the dirt in the towel. If you dont have a garden hose, you can also use the kitchen sink head spray and burst away dirt. I enjoyed your video as well!!

Hi Melissa, I wish you would recommend using a bag for all microfibre cloths even if you're washing them alone - they shed microplastic into the water which is harmful to aquatic life. You could even sell them with your kits :)

Where do you get cold water in the Phoenix area in the summer? Any ideas for when the hot and cold water is hot and hotter when it is 115 outside?

how often are you washing these cloths and towels between uses?

I wash mine in the washer with shirts, pants etc on cold cycle. I put them a laundry bag bag first ( I have a lot of these bags). I dry them only on the casual cycle. I never put them in with towels etc so fuzz won't get on them.

I use a cup of vinegar in a full load of any other new fabric when I want to SET THE DYE. Is this true for microfiber cloth as well without compromising their performance or longevity?

I work in a woodshop and purchased a roll of tear-away microfibers from the auto parts section of a well-known retailer. Super cheap because, well, they get ruined with glue. We use a water resistant glue, with some using water proof glue. Once dry, these are un-savable. Then I had a thought .. We use plain old white vinegar to remove glue residue from wood grain, so, would this work for microfibers? Could I soak them in white vinegar to release the glue and then wash them? It's a water-based PVA, like school glue. Vinegar would only help to clean the washer (as well as offer a bit of fabric softener action without the build-up and maintain the static when drying). Is there any detriment to soaking a microfiber overnight in white vinegar?

I have been using sanitizing washing cycle and drying on the same settings.

Can you wash all the different microfiber weaves together?

Microfiber cloth‘s are great for certain cleaning tasks like windows, mirrors and wood furniture. I would not use them for kitchen and bathroom cleaning because as you stated we should not use hot water or high heat drying cycles to clean them which is needed to kill germs and bacteria.

I wash the sky and plum microfiber clothes separately and not because I use the sky one‘s for the bathroom & the plum one‘s for the kitchen and are afraid of cross-contamination but because the plum one‘s caused a hell of a dye transfer in the beginning (for 3-5 washes) 😅 now I‘m used to wash them separately and just stick to it 😉

I'll start drying mine on low heat now that I've seen this video. I use cheaper microfiber towels and wash them in high heat to clean kitchen and bathroom germs. I wash underwear in hot, too, to kill the highest percentage of fecal matter possible (saw some numbers on that somewhere about the % left from washing in only warm water vs hot). I will adjust my expectations regarding their life span. Being a good steward of the clothes is important, but at the end of the day I expect them to serve me, not the other way around.

In the UK we get these very runny, clear, antibacterial liquids that are meant to replace fabric softener and kill germs; are these safe to use on microfibre cloths?

Love these cloths. I wish the hospital would make scrubs out of that fabric. I live in a gated community. I keep one in my car and wipe down the code box. Lots of hands on that thing!’

I just put on deep clean ony washer and then sanitize on dryer does good job.

What about if your microfiber cloth is full of debris? How so you get it all out? Mine is stuck inside the weave of the fabric.

So kinda funny that you're talking about laundering in cold water. I have always washed any type of towels in cold water. I just bought a new pack of microfiber towels ( also happened to buy a multi color pack to separate for uses, great minds think alike) and the tag actually says Warm Machine Wash 🤣🤣 that's why there's so much misinformation 😂

I am curious about the pre-washing of the cloths in the kitchen sink. Is there any concern that the pre-wash may cause build up in the pipes and eventually clogs the pipes or sink over time? Has anyone experienced this?

Interesting with the cool temp in the washing machine. I always thought high as You clean with them so I used to go with 60 degrees celcius like with towels and cotton bed linen. Though often it lands on the normal clothes temp 40 as that machine program is a bit shorter. Time is of the essence when you don’t own your own machines but book washing slots in the ”communal” laundry room in my building. Anyways, Thanks for all the tips.

So I'm using microfibers with: Vinegar Baking Soda Hydrogen Peroxide When I go to launder the dirty microfibers (dusting gets them very dirty) , I'll rinse in cold water first, and then launder in the laundry machine - I use an Arm & Hammer pod, should I include more vinegar, borax? Hi Melissa, If you have a bunch of microfiber cloths to rinse, what do you think of just popping them in the washing machine on cold, no detergent, and then putting them through a wash cycle, as usual, with detergent? Do you think that would do the trick? Also, is adding vinegar to the wash cycle a no-no, too, for microfiber cloths? And, what would you guesstimate is the average deduction - % wise - in the number of uses of a microfiber cloth that has been through the hottest possible washing cycle?

This might be a dumb question, but when you launder your microfiber cloths do you wash your towels (like your Maker's Clean bath towels or dish towels) separately from your cleaning microfiber cloths? The reason I'm asking is that I refuse to wash anything by hand unless it is almost a life threatening situation (I'm being a bit facetious here) that I have to. For the amount of microfiber cloths that I so far have accumulated, it is only a small load and if I keep them separate, I would be washing 2 towels by themselves. Normally, I would never consider washing cleaning cloths with any sort of towel - I don't even wash my ordinary dish towels with bath towels - they each get their own load.
