I would like someone to to my floors weekly: sweeping and mopping bathroom laminate and kitchen linoleum tile). Also power vacuum the tight weave carpeted living room and bedroom, especially under the bed and under/behind the sofa and recliner. I have a cat... Also, someone to strip and remake the queen bed. I have chronic fatigue syndrome and early arthritis so doing just one of those jobs a day makes me "pay for it" the next day (exhaustion and soreness). I used to clean a lot, vacant (bad) rentals years ago so I'm not lazy, just don't have the energy since retiring. Thanks for your videos, Melissa. I'm a Boomer who grew up ising commercial products for everything, even waxing the kitchen floors and wall tiles!. Then there were women who swore by cleaning nearly everything with bleach OR those who cleaned nearly everything with ammonia! Not both, thank goodness. It's good to know we can use natural products to clean safely. (Surprised to learn that Dawn has ammonia so never mix with bleach.) Cheap tip: Sprinkle some baking soda on the dishcloth and it makes dishes and flatware shine. 😊
I live in a building (seniors' independent living apartments) with a shared laundry room. There are 2 top load washers and 1 front load. 3 dryers. There's a sign asking us to clean the machines when we're finished. What do you recommend for something to wipe down and rinse *without* spending money to run another cycle? Not all of us are fully mobile and able to reach the bottom or back of the drums, either. I can reach and don't mind. The gaskets aren't bad, just annoying. The dryer lint traps are often nasty and if I could remove and clean it I would. Just try to convince residents to leave the doors open to air the machines out! We do have a housekeeper on staff for general common area cleaning but not machine cleaning. Sometimes she uses one of those "light" machines to disinfect the room (that started in 2020). Sorry this is so long. I just don't know what I can do besides wiping the handles, lids, and control panels. Thanks.
For me it would be keeping may glass shower spotless, inside and out, including the tile and floor. I hate to have to squegee every shower…I do it cause I don’t have a butler…but I HATE IT!
I have three things… Putting Away Laundry, All the Dishes, and Dusting. So, I need a Housekeeper sent my way but I guess I am it until I make a Million Dollars a Month. Lol.
Shoes by the front door/ living room area, so I put a shoe rack in the laundry closet 2 of them , each one holds 9-10 pairs of shoes. Don’t like sitting in the living room looking/ smelling shoes. Yuck
Hello, thank you for your video. I do want to ask how long after using do you put them to wash? Like if we don't have a lot to pile up enough for a load. I keep finding myself reaching for a paper towel because I don't want to ruin them or only use them when it's really needed. But then, when? LOL 🤦♀
Great reminders and tips. I hadn't thought about keeping a "glass" cloth in each bathroom! I always have several of the same items around the house (screwdriver, scissors, permanent markers, etc.) but this still didn't occur to me. 😅
I have owned my cleaning business for 24 years. You are spot on with everything in this video. I also detest those videos recommending crappy supplies. Great job!!
Our bathroom is the size of your shower 😊, I clean it once a week, use a clean towel and wash cloth daily. I clean sink and toilet every other day. Same in the kitchen clean towel and dish cloth, I have your dish cloths and the small microfiber cloths, love them.
My rule is "Clean the main bathroom toilet every day". (Or, at least every other day.) That may seem obsessive, and the rest of my house is not sparkling, but I love a clean toilet. 😅
Love your practical approach to cleaning 🧹🤗💐🙏🏽. Nothing screams clean to me more than vacant surfaces. So I always try to maintain my table tops, dresser tops and the like free of clutter.
When I’m not in the mood to clean, I do the 1st wave in every room. Get everything where it belongs. Then if I still have no desire to clean, I just walk away and try again tomorrow. I also follow one of your tips to do the dishes at the end of the every day. That one was a game changer for me.
I have about 5 mops , yes they are flat and not sufficient in cleaning properly, I also have a spin mop, water bucket ( spin out) . It’s ok for outdoor tiles on porch. I have sealed hardwood inside and ceramic tiles in 3 of my bathrooms. I going back and forth on whether to hire a professional cleaning lady or to purchase your mop. Spelling of my name is Krista 💯👍
As a child I loved to step on towel rolled laundry to get it dry faster. The towel needed to go into the laundry afterwards ...😊 Another advice against smelly washing machines: at least once a month wash laundry at least with 60°C (140° Fahrenheit). Bed sheets or towels are perfect for this. Some modern eco-friendly washing machines say 60°C (140°F) but heat the water in reality only up to less. But smelly bacteria really need the 60°C (140°F) to be killed. So just use 70 or 75°C (add accordingly in Fahrenheit), whatever the next position is on your machine's temperature scale. Consumer reports and consumer services usually know the real temperatures laundry machines use. Thank you very much, Melissa!
I wanted to go cheap, so I bought a big set of cloths from the auto department. They are not meant for household cleaning. Cleaning the outside of your car? Perfect. Not your kitchen or bathroom. I never thought there was a difference between microfiber towels. After buying GOOD ones, It's clear!
I wasn't sold on this mop - but I am now. I was going to get a spin mop, and now I see that it won't be able to accomplish what this mop can. (a little disappointing because I think the spinning thing is cool) 😂
I appreciate all your hacks and recipes. I have replaced all my Norwex with Makers as I was never told to not wash them in hot water so you guessed it, they quit working. Where can I get that dish soap dispenser? It is beautiful.
Great video. I learned a lot! I do not like taking ANY kind of chance with food that fell on the floor so once it falls on the floor it is now some kind of trash. I feel I am saving myself a trip to the doctors or/and having to take Pepto Bismol or other medications. Also not using sick days or missing work.
I am curious about the pre-washing of the cloths in the kitchen sink. Is there any concern that the pre-wash may cause build up in the pipes and eventually clogs the pipes or sink over time? Has anyone experienced this?
I keep my house tidy ~ try to keep everything in its place and that way, everything stays pretty clean and tidy; it is hard for me because I actually enjoy cleaning and find it therapeutic ( I do a lot of thinking as I clean) :-)
Just tried this and it worked for the most part (some areas needed a second application). HOWEVER, what nobody is mentioning is how important wiping this down is. This recipe will make your tub slippery from the dishwashing soap (I used Dawn) Be careful!
