How to wash a car without touching it! NO SCRATCHES! In this video, I will show you four easy steps to wash your car without touching it. Hi Pan, great video as usual. I have a question for you. Would you agree that the results you are getting are because the car is coated? What would be the results on a non-coated car? The reason why I ask is because I use a foam cannon to prewash my SUV which is not coated and after I rinse it I still have dirt on the car. I was wondering if it is due to the quality of the equipment or products I'm using (I'm using a shampoo, not a foam). Thanks.

A coated car is always easier to wash. Coatings have self-cleaning properties meaning that dirt sticks less and they are easier to wash.

More than a RU-vid channel content maker, you're an inspiration. Content like yours inspires me to become infected with cleanliness OCD. I'm in love with your work Pan. Just a small query, isn't it wise to clean the surface rust in the brake disc by the reversing-forwarding technique before the wash process? That way, the loosened up rust should get washed away with the rinsed shampoo.

Hi Pan, I'm looking forward to start a detailing business , doing some researches on RU-vid and bang how lucky I'am, your channel appears to me and I carefully watched your video of "#How To Start A Mobile Car Wash Business !!" and the second part as well. I'm really impressed by your professionalism and really appreciate every single word you've said. I have some concerns before I start spending money and I believe you have the right answer to my case. My first question what should I need to focus on more, is it advertising wherever the location is (of course in my big town) or should I give the station location more attention and pay higher rent to get a location in a rush road. My Second question is: What do you think, is it better to purchase a station already exist in business or create a new station? I'm from Tunisia by the way.

Thanks Johnny! Just keep in mind this is only for super lightly dirty cars and won’t clean 100%. Nothing replaces a true handwash. This is an alternative to quickly get a mostly clean looking car if you just want a quick touchless solution.

Hello 🖐 Pan, always at the top in explaining the best method to eliminate the most stubborn dirt.Wash the car is an art, not a pastime on Sunday! You do it with great professionalism !! The electric blower is excellent for not using the chamois cloth to dry the bodywork. But you forgot to dry the interior doors 😁😁😁. The BMW 550 i xdrive is beautiful. A real BMW jewel. 👍 👍

Hey Pan, can highly recommend a DI Vessel to do your final rinse, no real need to dry if you use this and no water spots. Thanks for the video!

@Reel-Lentless A resin water filter. This basically removes all the calcium carbonate which is what water spots are. Not cheap but do a lot odmf spot free washing.

Some foam are advertised to work best on dry surface so that might be something to consider? Door jambs can have some foam left on them, do you dry them also separately? Nice video and car!

Have you ever done a video on neglected leather I've tried all kinds of products on mine nothing seems to help I bought this car off Ebay :( it was so neglected leather seats with Alcantara some of the stitching has popped but I'm trying to see if I can soften the leather back up any ideas thanks for all you do take care always.

Question! How about quick detail sprays on light dirts, dust and debris? Some of us won’t have washing equipments. Can you do a video about pros and cons of quick detail sprays, thanks. Keep up the great videos!

If you only have a light layer of dust, you can use a quick detail spray. Anything more than that, I'd use a traditional wash with buckets and water. If you don't have equipment, and your car is only "lightly" dirty, you can use waterless or rinseless wash techniques. I have tutorials on both methods. Pan, you make detailing easy with your videos. I normally use the blower function on a shop vac to blow away areas where a MF towel cannot remove water that continues to run or drip. Is the shop vac ok, as it would be equal to a leaf blower?

I was thinking recently I'd love to do this in winter sometimes because I often think spending all that time cleaning the car for it to then get mucky again quickly due to the state the roads can get in during a British winter is frustrating. I think doing this method would save time, frustration and obviously the paint as well since winter crud puts the paint at more risk of damage. Just need one of those Metrovac Blasters lol.

Im getting my m550 soon delivered and i'm willing to do the ceramic coating 3 layers exactly as you showed it in previous video but the problem i don't have a closed garage, only a driveway so what i should do?also how you got these m logo on the side fenders? in the us they don't come with them if you can put the link for those will be appreciated.

You shouldn't attempt applying ceramic coating outdoors. Only needs a gust of wind to blow dust etc on the car while the coating is curing to possibly cause problems. Not to mention rain or bird shit lol. At least use a gazebo and check the weather forecast.

Nice Vid Pan. The only Problem i see with this method is, that you can not remove traficfilm from the paint. But for light dirt or dust its the perfect method.

Exactly. This is for well maintained cars. To remove traffic film, I’d still use a pre-wash with an alkaline cleaner like Purple Power Vehicle and Boat Wash. ;)

Avalon king e mailed Me today letting Me know My three bottles of ceramic coating (Thanks, Pan!) are on their way. I prepped the garage for the upcoming season. Everything is still inside in boxes. Lots of $. Freezing is bad for our valuable products. Cleaned and organized towels and a few other things. I’m beyond excited to start polishing, detailing again.

This is the type of wash i want to do. I'm too lazy to properly wash and apply protection. I was wanting to use turtle wax wash and wax ceramic but it's not a high sud formula. Do you think using a high sud soap first then going back over it with a low sud wash and wax would still provide that tiny bit of protection? Or probably a waste?

Interestingly I used to start by pressure washing my car then snow foam as you have done. But I was told I was doing it wrong and I should snow foam first then rise. Would be nice to hear your thought. Cheers and love this video thanks!

I use this method when it’s just rained and more is expected in during the week. Only downside is the door/trunk jams are still dirty if you do the full non-touch routine.

Nice job as always. Sometimes when i do this to remove light dust coating like your car's condition was that afterwards there still seems to be some not easily visible dirt. Especially on places like lower rockers. Notice it if need to touch up dry an area with a towel. This normal with a touchless wash? Also do you use a deionized water setup for rinsing?

If you still see dirt, then you need to move to a traditional wash with buckets and mitts. I have a water softener system plus my water was already soft to begin with. I live in a new housing development and we have great water.

Hey love your videos! Would you recommend using P&S bead maker in the rinse process or using that for a final detail wipe after this type of wash??…. I have a Chevy suburban that’s been coated with griots 3-1 ceramic wax. I’m trying to limit my wash time as much as possible. I wash 1 once a week

Thanks for the kinds words about my videos. This “touchless” car wash is only for a quick clean of a lightly dusty or slightly dirty car and shouldn’t be followed with any paint protection application as the surface isn’t 100% clean. What about if you have very complex wheels to clean, such as three piece wheels? I personally have found it does not remove all the brake dust unless I go in by hand and wheel cleaner.

Hey Pan, I love your videos, always well explained and non biased. Question...I ordered the Karcher K5, but have read that you need special fittings to hook up different foam cannons to there hose?? Could you tell me what I would need to attach one of those small guns, and a variety of foam cannons? Nice video Pan! Usually after driving in the rain you get a lot of dirt on the lower sections of the car. When I go to the self serve car wash and spray it with soap but it never gets the dirt off unless I use a wash mitt to wipe the dirt off. Will the foam cannon remove the dirt from driving in the rain?

Thanks Nathaniel! This touchless method is just a quick way to lightly clean a VERY LIGHTLY dirty car, meaning just a small layer of dust. This isn't meant to clean a dirty car, or moderately dirty car. For a complete wash, there's no other alternative but to do a contact wash with a microfiber wash mitt and two buckets. Hi Pan! I am using the exact method as you on my M5! I keep getting water spots. The car has ppf on the entire front,truck, & side skirts! Also ceramic coating on the whole car! I am using Armour all 2 in 1 foam cannon! Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Keep in mind a contactless wash doesn’t fully clean the car. This is just a quick way to remove a light dust layer if you don’t have the time for a proper handwash. To avoid water spots, there can be several issues causing them. If you have hard water issues and wash outside, you’ll get water spots. A good solution is to have a water deionizer system like I have. Zero water spots as there will be no minerals in the water. The other solution is to wash the car by hand and use a drying aid immediately after your final rinse and towel dry the surface with a microfiber towel. Will CarPro Gliss help dirt come off easier than just UK 3.0? I noticed the sand and salt in the winter time here does not come off without touching even with a pressure washer and foam cannon.

Winter dirt is another animal. Coatings make cleaning a lot easier, but you’ll still need to do a proper hand wash.

Unless your air compressor has a filter, I wouldn't use it to blow dry car paint as it might throw contamination or oily particles on your clean paint. MetroVac Master Blaster is the way to go, or if you want a cordless solution, I have an upcoming video that will interest you.

Thank you. This is what I was looking for. My new car will be ceramic coated next week and I'm in the research phase for how to easily and quickly wash it. I don't ever expect it to get very dirty. It's not an every day use car. This video was made five years ago. I've been seeing more recently that some people think that foaming a dry car gets better results. Any thoughts on that?

Hello Pan Any plans to do a tutorial regarding how to wash your car at a coin self wash, for the people that can't do to 2 buckets method and they are living in apartment blocks?? I'm curios about what products should we use when going to coin self wash. Me personally I've purchase a manually foam pump, CarPro Reset shampoo and CarPro Reload for my CarPro coating. And my routine is to prewash the car with pressure wash, then apply CarPro Reset with the manually pump and then rinse off. After that I use microfiber towel to dry the car and every 2-3 months I apply CarPro Reset. Any other product recommendations that I should use, a product for decontamination (like CarPro Iron x) or a product for prewash? Also can these products be used with a spray bottle? Thanks you

That kranzle 1152 ts t pressure washer costs a fortune! Does it have a lifetime warranty? Do you use any kind of water treatment or is your water quality excellent where you live? In Southern California the water is quite hard so I subscribe to a service for a deionized water treatment tank @ $30 per month. I've used deionized water for final rinse since 2010 and the MetroVac Air Force Master Blaster for drying and have always gotten excellent results. I will give your touchless wash a try on my new Z06 when I next wash it. Your videos are excellent.

The only thing I do differently is to use my shop-vac in blow-mode to dry my vehicle after the first 3 steps. Works like a charm and to be honest I didn't even know that you can buy a blower for drying a car.👍

This is just an alternative when you're in a rush to get a light superficial clean. I wouldn't recommend this method before applying a paint protection. Keep in mind the touchless wash doesn't ensure 100% clean surface. It's just meant for a quick clean of a lightly dirty or only lightly dusty vehicle. If you want to apply a paint protection, make sure you do a proper contact wash with a microfiber wash mitt and buckets. This is just a method to quickly clean a car that isn't super dirty. This isn't meant to replace a more thorough 2 bucket wash. It doesn't clean a car 100%. But you can clean like this as often as you want.
