2 thing to not do Use a towel- the towel strips your hair and makes your locks thin. Just put the towel on ur neck over ur back and let the locks rest on it. 3.use heat to dry your hair Use cool setting on the blow dryer Or let it naturally dry You forgot to use conditioner which is very important. These are steps to thick, long, hair that will not break or get thin and look like spaghetti

Honestly it's just figuring what personally works for an individual. Moisture is the key important part about locs. Drying hair avoids mildew and that strange od smell when locs get wet.

The purpose of conditioner is to smooth hair. When you have locs your hair is tangled which is the opposite of having smooth hair. So using conditioner defeats the purpose of having locs. However there are some people with locs who use conditioner.
No your Dreads will stink and become moldy if you air dry too much. If you do a full wash I recommend blow dry light heat for like 15 mins. And if you air dry your locs will be wet all day long especially when you’re at the length and longer like dog in the video. My locs are to my shoulder if I air dry my locs it takes damn near a day in a half plus every time you turn your head water will fly around so if you plan on air drying be prepared to not go anywhere or you’ll make a lot people pissed off flinging dread water residue at them.
High heat is bad fasho. If they use a warm to cool heat setting on their blow dryer than they should be coo. My hair is to my back now, so if I let it air dry it’ll take 3-5 days. And I’m still afraid of the thought of molded dreads 😭
