LOC TRANSFORMATION + DETOX | Start to finish 

I have a friend from college who had hair with similar texture as this man in the video and he had a pretty voluminous afro. During college, he was very depressed and neglected his hair because of his lack of motivation and energy because of his mental illness. The back of his head was super matted so I sat with him and combed out his mattes from like 7pm to 7am. You never know what that person is going through so I am super glad you mentioned that. Your clients locs look amazing and I'm glad he got some help for his hair. Some people are too embarrassed to get help so it gets even worse. Great video and thank you for the education!

To add on to the before situation, not everyone can do it themselves. Like she said in the beginning there was a lot of product from the last loctician’s install. I’m sure if he had the know-how or time to do it he probably would have done it himself. As his locs being sort of mullet looking, I assume the top came detached and he didn’t know how to put them back in. Regardless of any of this, remember that we’re watching these videos to learn from a professional and how to avoid getting in the “befores” not to fixate on the client’s decisions with their own hair.

I was just scrolling and came upon this video and I was intrigued because I love a good before and after but what I loved more than anything was the end where you ask that the client be respected and don't judge him because no one knows what brought him here. I absolutely LOVE THAT. I think people can be very judgemental without knowing anything. I appreciate your concern for your client so much and I'm sure he does too.

I haven't had my hair done in three years. My hair was just like his. Half of my locks was on my dresser. I just wait for one person to do my hair. I did a detox on my hair, the dirt and grime, I can tell you that water felt great 😁. My twister didn't give me the magazine parts too my hair, just want to heal the scalp and not to much pull on the hair. Thank God, he make house calls and cheeeeaap. P.S you did a fabulous job👍✌

I really liked what you stated at the conclusion of your video regarding people judging clients for their BEFORE hair condition. That is sooo true that no one but the client personally knows the circumstances that lead up to their BEFORE hair condition. Many persons--whether they have extreme situations like the client shown in this video or not-so-extreme situations--have reasons for getting transformations. so just for context, im a white women. im learning to do hair, my partner is a black man. he has twists and a lot of new growth. i want to give him a pamper day and do his hair for him and just give him a little spa day, hes done it for me before and i want to do the same for him. do you have any tips or advice before i just jump into this head first. i dont want to hurt, and i will be letting him take the lead with his hair i just want to be there and help him out and get him looking handsome

This might get lost somewhere but, I got lock extensions and they used the same technique (not as great as this wow) with stiff locks. My own hair grew out thinner and less stiff and the extensions fell out. I was told it was because I pulled on the hair. But I did not twist often or pull. Do you have a video of how to keep the extensions in perhaps? I've had about 5 fall out. It's very embarrassing
