Accel would and sao take place in the same world, just accel is set alot more in the future they even make call backs in the anime talking about how basic vr used to be (talking about sao season 1s vr helmets)

I legit assumed the plot would be that all the survivors would have to go through a series of games in order to get out and they would have to get out of vr by one game, obviously all came downhill till I saw ordinal scale trailer ( I was browsing to get the idea what I was gonna watch) but would’ve been dope if it were to be like that
