Having been overly involved in mundane human activities I had disposed of my TV some 20 years ago, and was about to dive back in unaware of the significant risks involved. Not only was I drunk on my sense of righteousness from not watching TV, but I had not even attempted to plan what I watched, beyond the intention to use unconstrained sarcasm to induce a feeling of superiority. Thank you Charlie Brooker .. you quite literally saved my life ...
+Mystery Ezekude In no way does this come across as a specific source of inspiration for Black Mirror. Brooker is fascinated by many things, this being one of them.
Jiggly Puff Actually, Thomas Taylor is correct, whilst Charlie Brooker demonstrates aspect ratio changes, for some reason the uploader has added auto adjustments, so when the frame changes, the edit automatically 'corrects' it, that kind of ruins the whole point.
No worries man, Besides i totally agree with you if i were to put Ads and make profit from a CHARLIE BROOKER video id be a not only a complete wanker but a hypocritical one as well, RU-vid is getting quite scary recently, not only are they putting ads on videos whether the creators like it or not I heard on the news not long back that there going to introduce a PAID SUBSCRPTION to their most popular channels.
well, some of the animations here feature in the tv wipe intro, and brooker appears in one of the on-camera segments, so, no edit: nevermind! my memory was playing tricks on me. they're not the same. however, this was the genuine footage. including the constant zooming in and out. it was all deliberate for the weird low/high budget effect they had going on i guess.
Mr Brooker: as a red haired man I am disappointed in the decision to employ the phrase " Unloved ginger haired runt"- Please replace 'unloved' and 'runt' with the words "grossly unappreciated" and "uber-mensch", respectively. It renders your simile meaningless, but more importantly is less offensive to me.
***** I take it you read things and add your own opinions as to what people are talking about rather then reading it from a intellectual stand point and consider what people are actually talking about, because I think you've missed the point of what I was saying which was also on the lines of satire.
There's no test. I feel like there should be a test. I wouldn't want to go and try and watch TV without being sure I had properly absorbed the presented information.
I used to know someone like Piers, with his miniature TV set in the corner almost obscured by his Noam Chomsky book collection. As you can imagine, the man was a pretentious tool.
This is definately not the Charlie Brooker I'm used to, a tad dull. He almost sounds like a demo of a TV from a salesperson of which, the compamy's going into administration.
