I’m turning 70 soon. Just bought a black Levi’s denim jacket. Had buyers remorse after watching a video depicting denim jackets only for the younger guy. I feel a bit better now regarding my purchase and won’t be returning it. Thanks guys.

I literally just bought a dark wash denim jacket from Jcrew. I just turned 51 and I’m so cautious about loud colors. As I’ve gotten older, I gravitate towards more neutral colors or monochromatic looks. Thank you for posting this.

Bought a nice pair of dark straight leg blue jeans today as you recommended in another video . I’ve been getting looks ans compliments since I’ve been watching you John . Thank you. I celebrated my 65th birthday on January 12th . I feel great and not experiencing age grading for fashion . I wore business attire for decades ; more polished causal now . Love the stiff collar helpers . I’ve been wearing Thursday Boots for a few years . Thank you

My fifteen year old son had been wanting a denim jacket. I told him I think I have one somewhere in my closet that I bought a few years ago that he could have. Without even looking at it he said, no I want a cool one. So I got him a distressed one from the Gap. Went back to find mine and turns out it's the same exact one I bought him, ( just like the one you're wearing in this vid), sans the rips and fraying. So I started wearing mine everyday with a hoodie underneath. I told him, look son, your cool dad is on point!

Just my opinion here but... I think Johns fair complexion and silver hair would be best complimented by a darker denim jacket. Again, just my two cents.

My thoughts exactly. This color is too washed out for his complexion and hair. The jacket also looks too small. The pant and shirt look really odd with this jacket. Somethings just not working. I have a vintage Fiorucci denim jacket that is a favorite piece of wardrobe. No older gentleman can wear a denim jacket as well as Ralph Lauren.

I love the silvery tones going through his hair and jacket, that's the first correlation I made and thought it was visually interesting, fit looks perfect too. Shoulder seams where they should be.

I've found that with jackets in general and especially denim, you really need to size down for it to fit properly and not look too big on you.

I’m really enjoying the collaboration videos! I hope you do more of them in the future. I currently do not own an original denim jacket. I do have one in a beige color and might pick up a black one. For some reason, I hesitate wearing a blue one. Thanks for another great video.

Great content as always! My go to outfit to wear with my jean jacket, is a somewhat darker pair of jeans, with a medium washed fitted jean jacket, over a navy blue polo. I button the jacket like a cardigan. Paired with brown suede chukka boots; the outfit seems to transcend every age; and as a fit 54 year old, I think that it does not look too young!

Definitely a must have in every man's wardrobe. I suggest the Levi's rigid two raw denim trucker jacket and watch it fade custom to how you wear vs a pre washed jacket as shown in the video.

That’s not what a “distressed” jeans is. Distressed is when the piece is ripped up or scuffed or fraying. I think the terminology you meant to say was “acid washed” and/or “faded”.

I suggest the Levi's rigid two raw denim trucker jacket and watch it fade custom to how you wear vs a pre washed denim jacket. Most companies copy the classic Levi's type 3 trucker jacket style. Classic never goes out of style. 👊😄

To my 59 year old eyes, the darker wash, less distressed looks better on any age, especially the over 40. The more distress, the more tired it looks, which is not a good look for older guys.

im 32 5ft8 175lbs im leaning to get large on denim jackets. they shrink and dont stretch that much. i sweat alot even on spring. getting bigger size would allow air/heat to flow out easily. i sacrificed the slim fit and short length to have more comfy fit

Don’t put people in a an age box. I’m 59 and my hair is not gray yet, good genes,,,so I can wear any look I want to wear. It’s all about whether or not you feel comfortable with who you are, not what age you are. I would wear George’s look long before ever wearing John’s look. In fact I would never wear a cut and sewn shirt with a denim jacket. That is a total old man route to go in. It completely ages you, IMO. Denim jackets were created for one thing and one thing only,,,,t-shirts. Created as work wear mainly.

In my opinion, the guy on the right nailed the look, ticks all boxes✔️ Definitely my style The guy on the left is good but didn’t like the pants 👎🏻 it’s age appropriate I guess. John style is pretty good but I felt a darker wash jacket would of worked as opposed the light wash. To me John unknowingly dressed age unappropriated. Sorry !

I refuse to care about what i wear for my age. I only wear what i want and what i care. Keep it simple. What to wear for whatever age is just a social expectation and that goes against the very spirit of denim jackets. Stay rebellious.

I personally never want to see a man botton up in a jean jacket it's not a good look unless your in a blizzard . The jacket is best worn open and relaxed not bottom up tight.

Short or small build men like you are not suitable for denim Jacket, dark colors pant or tight jean. For example: Michael J Fox(back to future actor), Richard Hammond (Top Gear TV presenter) and Tom Cruse(top gun actor) are short or below average height people, but Tom Cruise looks better in Jeans or denim because of his more avenage body compared to other two . So all that depends on the figures of everyone, not ages.

Being "old school" I still have a hard time seeing olive/green paired with blue as they are in opposite color families. However, you seem to pull that off seemlessly.
