A ‘tuxedo’ is the American name for what is called a ’dinner jacket’ (‘black tie’) in the UK. Sadly, it is becoming more and more common in the UK to use the American name of ‘tuxedo’. It is completely different from ‘white tie’ which is illustrated in this video. ‘Black tie’ (or ‘tuxedo’ in the US) is less formal that ‘white tie’ and is a starched white evening shirt fastened with studs that should not have a wing collar but a fold down collar with (as the name implies) a black bow tie, rather than a white one. A pair of black evening trousers usually with black piping down the outside seams of the trousers, are worn and a waistcoat is not worn.
@@albertsmyth9616 Yeah, so many ppl get it mixed up and then so many ppl also get them wrong when wearing. Ex: white tie waistcoat longer than the the evening coat. black tie being worn with normal suit jacket and a black necktie instead of a bowtie. Galon being missing on both of them
