How do I make whipped candle wax? How do I make two-toned whipped wax? You may find yourself asking these questions after seeing countless posts and videos on social media. Otherwise known as “candle whip,” or “wax whip,” it is a simple and beautiful way to add to a candke or wax melt. You can use it to make wax melt cakes, cupcake candles/melts, and so many other cute wax creations. This is also your first step into dessert candles! It can certainly seem a bit scary to approach at first, which is why this tutorial is here for you! This is a process that I have created and learned through trial and error that takes a LOT of the headache away for making whipped wax!

My Wax- Soy 444 (most suppliers carry this wax)
Dye- Any liquid or block candle dye (or even dye chips) from a legitimate candle supplier can be used. Just be sure it is specifically made for candles only!
Piping tip- !M piping tip (craft stores and Walmart have this. I got mine in a Pro pack from Michaels’s so I have enough).

This video is geared toward beginners so I gave tips that make it as easy as possible to get the job done! Sometimes they come apart while scooping the whipped wax into the piping bag depending which one someone has. Seasoned makers may prefer them and that’s great! But I wanted to make sure the process went smoothly for anyone who hasn’t done whipped wax or is brand new to candle making/working with wax.

Fun fact - In the UK, It's illegal to sell any wax products that look like, or might be believed to be food products. So no wax whip for me, but it's a great idea and looks wonderful.

💕 a paraffin container wax should work! Just work as quickly as you can and be patient with yourself since paraffin is (physically) a harder wax than soy.

This was soo helpful and very well explained. Thank you, just one question, if I’m using for example 6006 wax for my candles, I can add whipping wax with 444 wax? Or would I have to use the same wax for both the candle and the whip?

You can absolutely mix and match waxes! I don’t do this at the moment, but I’m moving over to do so with some of my other products. And plenty of other makers mix and match as well! I’m so glad I could help!

Thanks for responding so quickly. I have been trying to whip it and the wax just gets hardened and dry and when I try to pipe it is brittle. I try whisking when it is hot. Should I wait until it gets soft and then whisk even after it dries and gets brittle ? I am not sure how the perfect consistency actually looks !

All of my molds come from Amazon, michaels, and Joann at the moment (though I’m working on making some of my own). I only have one set of ice cube molds though that I haven’t shown yet that are also from Amazon.

For just about everything I use soy 444 personally (it’s pretty hard and easy to work with, and very versatile). But if you’re looking for another soy, 416 and 494 are great. If you want your straw in a candle, you can use either of those tart waxes, or use the same wax that the entire candle is made of (so long as it will pop out of the mold for you).

Have you tried it with none of the oil? It sounds almost like you’ve created a scoopable wax melt of sorts, so it may not fully harden! In this video I just used wax, dye, and fragrance oil. Did your frosting become too hard when there was no coconut oil?

135° for me, but I only came to that temperature after finding that gave me my best results! It may not work for all other makers 💕
