Hello! I’m Alyssa or “The Boss Blitz,” and welcome to the channel! Here we are as creative as possible and learn most everything that goes into it!
I’m what I like to call a “serial creative,” meaning I have multiple creative paths (creativity is what I live for). I use Cricut, make candles and wax melts, do photography and other crafty/creative outlets. With that said, here on the channel, I teach YOU as much as I can so you can become the best creative you can be!
I hope you stick around and explore your creativity!
You are welcome to ask me questions at any time in comments or on social medua! I will do my best to answer your questions or connect you with someone who can!
This video is geared toward beginners so I gave tips that make it as easy as possible to get the job done! Sometimes they come apart while scooping the whipped wax into the piping bag depending which one someone has. Seasoned makers may prefer them and that’s great! But I wanted to make sure the process went smoothly for anyone who hasn’t done whipped wax or is brand new to candle making/working with wax.
Absolutely! Here’s a video of my cleanup from the whipped wax tutorial, and in it I show how I clean my mixer! Let me know if you have any other questions! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-E4bTBT6T8Hw.html
That really depends on thickness but that would probably be a good start! The best thing to do is bake them, see if the top looks “melted” but still able to see bead shape. And then let it cool and shake it. If you hear beads moving when you shake it you may need to bake longer!
Hi so in the video I used 2oz wax and cut off the clip right before 2oz And I used 20oz of wax because I did two trays with 10oz each in them! So this does equal 10% if doing your fragrance load in relation to wax used and not in relation to total weight!
I do all of my math by hand. I do my fragrance loads in relation to the amount of wax used or that will be used. So if I do 20oz of wax I will multiply 20oz by 10% (or 0.10) and go from there.
I’d also like to add that you do NOT want to use any vegetable oil or anything for crumble because you want it to be hard. You do not want it to be soft in any way at all.
You've definitely helped me with whipping wax as I only tried it once and gave up lol. I'm interested in more videos for candle/wax melt making! Hope to see your future videos.
HI. I'm not understanding the use of the vegetable oil. I guess it just went over my head because I have never seen this before. So are you using the cooking oil in place of or as a stand in for wax? Meaning, instead of mixing two different waxes you are using one wax and the oil makes up for the 2nd wax? Or is there another reason? Economical, money saving, etc.? Can vegetable oil be used with paraffin wax, or is your mixture just specific to what you're doing here within the video?
Hi there! So vegetable oil can be substituted for another oil, like mineral oil (or avocado, coconut etc), but it is to soften the wax to make it easy to scoop with a spoon. Scoopsble wax is a lot softer of a texture so paraffin may not yield the same results which is why I use soy for this instead. It is also best to use a soy container wax. (But I will also add that experimenting is the best way to learn! So, if you prefer paraffin, test it out and see how it goes! So long as something isn’t dangerous try it!) However I will say if it is summer and you live in a hot climate like I do adding just a little paraffin or using a little soy tart wax will stop any separation that may occur due to heat. Another option to combat the separation in warmer climates would be to use less vegetable oil so it is still soft enough to scoop. (I had an issue when we had 110° temperatures and though my workspace is temperature controlled, in these temps my scoopsble wax did not set correctly).
@@thebossblitz Thank you so much for your response and the quickness of it. I was just getting ready to start my very first batch ever (earlier today) with a mix of par and soy and was searching for a ratio for the two. I know I will run out of soy soon because I'm on a budget, so I saw this and wondered could I swap the soy for the veg oil for a little bit of time, until I start to turn a profit (making regular wax melts). Thanks again so much, and take care!
Thank you for this video. I definitely needed this. I have candle dyes, but, wanted quality dyes and when I asked a couple of candle makers they was like oh you can buy candle dye from any where. Which angered me because not all places sell quality dyes. So I appreciate you for sharing this. Peace 🕊️ Love 💖 and Blessings 🙏🏾
Wow, you are a born teacher and lecturer. Such a professional presentation. Anxious to see if I can accomplish a nice topping for my candles. You found your niche. 🎉
