I just replaced mine on my Maytag washer because it was pausing intermittently. Thank you so much for the video! For anyone wondering if you need to do this, if your machine pauses mid cycle, then this could be the culprit. I also noticed when my old door latch locks, it made a soft click sound. With my new latch, the "click" sound is really loud and it feels like my door is shut good. Hope this helps.
That is just stupid-easy! I just had to replace the bellow a few weeks ago. That was easy but a lot of work. This should be easy just accessing the front. My advice on getting that front bellow spring back on is to have a helper. Once person 'stretching' the spring and the other person guiding the wire into the groove as the spring-stretcher slowly de-stretches the spring/wire.
You take the top off and reach down and pull that little circle tab (at the bottom of the door latch assembly) down, and that will unlock the door. It's the white circle looking thing at the bottom of the switch in the video.
Hello, thank you for posting such explanatory video, it is perfect. I installed the part but after I hitr start, the door locks and then it won't start. Then i have to manually unlock the door from the bottom....Do you think this could be still related to the latch installation or it is something different?
