The way you catch peoples attention is amazing, I just recently came across your videos and ive subscribed. You have a great attitude and the way you explain things is cool.
Totally! Using whitening products definitely can increase sensitivity. If it's severe, I would stay away from whitening. If it's mild, sometimes using a sensitivity toothpaste can help. Hope this helps!
hygienists here.. i tell my patients...if you use them just for a few sessions a few times a year, you should be fine....if you are constantly obsessively using they can weaken and cause sensitive enamel.
You look even much more beautiful when you don't cover your face with hair just like this one. Gorgeous! I really love your videos. They are very helpful. Now I am gonna buy an electric teeth brush.
I’m starting my Invisalign this week and will get whitening trays at the end of it so I’m glad I came across this video (and your channel)! Instant subscribe from me and I look forward to future videos! Peace, love and teeth.✌🏽,❤️ & 🦷
You could also just buy a bottle of 3% peroxide for a dollar and use a little to brush your teeth a few times a week. It will take longer, but there’s less sensitivity👌
I have 6 cavities, on my lower jaw all 6 sadly thank god for your channel , since i found you, i been brushing , flossing 3 time's a day and i been seeing my cavities been looking less darker in color sadly, i have a big teeth at the back hurting me every time i floss him, he's been hurting me alot and giving me headaches... Wondering if you can tell me what's going on? I am due to be getting an appointment soon to be going to the dentist , love your channel btw , watching all the way from the Caribbean ❤sending love
Heya, hope all is well now! Did you find anything out about the tooth that was hurting while flossing? I’m having a similar issue, and don’t know why that one tooth seem to mildly hurt after i floss it
Idea for a video-Homemade whitening tips,tricks,recipes.. Do they work, which ones work, are some bad? why? Ive always hears the best is Hp and baking soda.
I have beard it damages enamel are you not afraid use it regulary. Thanks for lettong me.undertand finally what is thre difference beerween plague and a tartar and your positive vibe
I totally hate my teeth just for the fact I have to take alot of medication and we're told I would never be able to get my teeth white because of the meds so I never tried to do it as it won't work for me
I heard whitening strips and other things like that are abrasive on enamel/can increase tooth sensivity?? Is that correct? Also is charcoal toothpaste abrasive? 🖤
It would be good to ask your dentist this question. Some dental offices make whitening trays with small little pockets to allow the whitening product to sit on the surface you need. If you did decide I would recommend to use a very small amount of the whitening stuff as you don’t want it touching your gums as there may be a risk of a burn from the product. If this happens you can run vitamin E oil on the gums that were affect for optimal and quick healing.
I finished a box (14 days) of oral-b teeth whitening strips, but the shade of my teeth is not ideal, is it okay to use another pack or even 2 more packs of whitening strips? I have no sensitivity whatsoever using them, what could be my risks of using whitening strips in the long term? Thanks!
Thank you for subscribing! It's hard to say without clinically viewing. I would visit your dentist to find out. It may be something as simple as staining or it could be something more involved like decay. Visit your dentist & they will help you! Thank you again for watching!
To whiten your teeth how about using hydrogen peroxide after brushing daily and flossing? It brightens and helps with gingivitis in small areas. Doesn’t taste bad very affordable. Just swish hold it in mouth . I found that works.
great question! unfortunately, it's something that is not always recommended as a routine because it kills both good and bad bacteria in the mouth. always talk with your dental provider prior to swishing with hydrogen peroxide! hope this helps!
I stay away from homemade peroxide and baking soda, due to the acidity levels. And type of ADA approved whitening products are formulated specifically with the health of the teeth in mind - and I feel more comfortable using products like that! Hope this helps!
the at-home lights are often not regulated. I talk more about those in this video of mine - hope this helps: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zXJvzBGUnMY.html
unfortunately no - whitening products will not whiten crowns or restorations (such as fillings). if you are interested in that - talk with your dentist about replacement options. hope this helps!
@@TeethTalk yikes! I'm getting a crown done now ( like IN 5 MINUTES) on one of my two front teeth...thank goodness I got on now to see your comment. I will talk with Dr. Suarez as soon as I'm seated in the chair. I am not happy with the color
@@TeethTalk ok saved by the comment! I got impressions for whitening. Starting Monday I will start the whitening process. In a month I will do the crown. Thanks so much for your input
usually that's a good thing to try - I tell lots of my patients to try that! but, if you are unsure - always ask your individual dental professional to guide you in the right direction :) hope this helps!!!
I bought opalescense I believe it was 30% and for some reason after using it I got extreme sensitivity my gums would turn white and if I flashed a light at my teeth they look like they have a crack in the middle like a split 😐
These lines are called crazing and are normal in most people in the outer layer of the enamel. Try a different whitener that may be more compatible. The gums get white because excess whitening goo is getting on your gums.
Is there any truth though behind claims that using hydrogen peroxide methods can cause gum recession and/or permanent enamel damage? Can you shed some light on this?
Is it ok to use whitening mouth wash? I use it i still have baby teeth and i am 12. It says i can use it because i am 12, but i am a late one with adult teeth so can i still use it? I’m sorry for my english lol Oh and what i wanted to add is that i also have adult teeth but not that many as other 12 hear olds
Hey there! No worries at all! I'd always ask your dentist what they recommend, especially for baby teeth. But, generally a whitening mouthwash should be safe. Confirm with your dentist, though! Hope this helps! Also - no worries! Everyone's teeth fall out at different times! It will all catch up soon enough!
great question! and no! if there is a gap already between the teeth it's possible you don't see it because tartar is filling the gap. once the tartar is removed - you'll see it - but it was already there. hope this helps!
warning to using these strips. you can oversue them and will lead to gum recession if overused. People go overboard using them trying to whiten their teeth like a movie star. Big big mistake. The girl in this video obviosly used white strips or something similar a lot. overtime they will cause gum recession
totally never go overboard with whitening :) never heard of it causes gum recession - but there is research that shows it directly relates to causing gum and tooth sensitivity. hope this helps!
sometimes that happens!!! certain parts of your tooth might get SUPER white. it will generally fade away over time and blend in with the rest of your teeth :)
weird question (I already know the answer btw, but I just want to see it from a dental hygienist lol)... do dental hygienists have to have very white teeth? :v
My teeth are brighter but not like super white. We as dental hygienists are not required to have “white” teeth. I use the more natural options as a baseline for my dental patients who no not want to try over the counter products. I used the hydrogen peroxide brushing a few times a week. About 3x week I’ll swish with hydrogen peroxide. If it’s too strong for my gums I’ll dilute 3% to a 1.5% with water. So a 1:1 mix. I also use a rechargeable electric brush and half the time I’ll use a manual soft toothbrush. Doing the natural method of oil pulling also helps to brighten teeth and studies have shown coconut oil helps to remove the streptococcus mutans from the oral environment but you also need to properly remove bacterial plaque from the teeth with brushing and flossing. 😁
generally it is recommended to wait until your gum issues are stabilized. we always suggest visiting your dental office for an exam to help you treatment plan for this! hope this helps!
I can't use strips because I have teeth that are layered ontop of one another. I basically have 3 extra teeth. So strips are a no go also I don't know how number two would work with me. 🥺
Yeah i would in a heart beat if I could afford it. I grew up with it so I'm sorta used to it. Brushing teeth is probably the most painful thing to do in my morning routine. It's not very nice brushing over sensitive gum thats between my two teeth.
@@TeethTalk they didn’t look any better or worse, but they hurt really bad when I put them on, and my whole mouth was hurting for like 2 months. I naturally have a pretty weak enamel, so that’s probably why they hurt me, but I don’t trust anything whitening anymore. I thought about using more natural ways to whiten my teeth because they’re still pretty yellow. I heard turmeric works, but I have a feeling that’s not scientifically proven. Better dental hygiene would help me a lot too, I don’t floss at all 😬
