As a beginner I liked the part on how to take advantage of the opponent being in the no man's land! There is maybe an entire category of tips there to be explored for future videos, how to take advantage of errors.
Joan Charmant you’re right. Each video I keep thinking I could expand a few videos in each area...the “taking advantage of an opponent out of position” is a good video!
Perfect explanation. You should also mention that another option besides the lob is playing a "Chiquita" when defending, that is to play a short shot and quickly move forward.
Eugenio Gerez thank you. I talk about a short chip to the feet. It’s difficult as English speakers...when do we move away from the terms like chiquita/bandeja/Vibora etc...? Or do we always keep them for Pádel?! I don’t know...
Great video as usual. I once asked for a video on consistency, it was this i was looking for, so thanks eheh. If u could do like a part 2 or something on those lines, going in dept on how to play sensible padel, that would be awesome!
Hi Sandy. Fitst of all thanks for all the great content! On my level (p250) it happens frequently that we’re at the net and our opponents play a lob that’s too short. I’m not at the level to hit a kicksmash yet, and smashing usually causes a high bounce due to which the opponents van take over again. Which shot should I choose and where should I aim it? Thanks a lot!
Good question. This would depend where your opponents are...if they are near the back glass (and aren't already moving forward) then a flat smash with less angle (so down the line) is usually good. If they have started moving forward you can either disguise your smash and hit softer down the middle or hit with a little spin with an angle so it contacts side glass and then back glass...does that answer the question?!
Is it legal to hit the fence on your own half? If the opposition has returned my shot, it then hits the floor on my side and I return it by hitting the ball into the fence (on my side of the net) and then the ball hits the opponent side of the court - is this considered a foul or a correct shot? :-)
Hey, I know that all trainers says that both partners needs to go together but the when I watch the professional players I see that they don’t do this sometimes. When is this needed?
It is difficult to judge from the pros playing, because at that level they can turn defense to attack immediately. So sometimes for them it makes more sense to split. But what they often do is join their partner but might come forward (or back) the following ball, so it looks like they are split. So one player will take the opportunity and move forward, then the partner might wait a shot before coming in when its safer to secure that position. Does that make sense?
